Maybe 3 hours from cutting it out to being completely finished. It is the fourth time I have made a bag from that pattern. I worked on it a little bit for three days. I think the She Loves me Knot bag was a little faster. But I am not certain. I made the she Loves me Knot bag in 2 1\2 hours. I started it at 8 and I finished by 10:30

Crayon Roll-ups!!

th_crayonroll-up1.jpg

I decided that I would make Parker and Michael a crayon roll-up this weekend, they loved them and have used them just about everyday since. They wanted me to make their friends some, so I made their classmates some. I made 14 for Parker's room and 20 for Michael's class -- I don't want to see a crayon roll-up for a while. I don't know how Tom whips this stuff up but it sure took me longer than 90 minutes. We had all sorts of crayon roll-ups around here Tinkerbell, Strawberry Shortcake, Camoflauge, Cars, Skulls, Bandana and Floral. The pic just has their two, bandana & Cars b/c I forgot to take a pic of all of them together.

I love those! I really love love love that ribbon where did you get it?

Well, I ve been lurking along.:surfweb: Of Course, all the latest outfits have been gorgeous.

We are busy getting ready for a combo, Birthday/Graduation Party here on Saturday. DH Graduated May 10 and we have birthdays on May 23 and May 28.

Hi everybody!

I love the outfits everyone has been making! There are too many to comment on but everyone's work is so fantastic.

Welcome home to Teresa and Heather!

Cindee, I hope your auntie is on the mend.

I'm sure I'm missing lots of other stuff.

Delaney is a binky user as well, she has said she's going to give them up as soon as she turns 4 because she wants to be on the binky busters board that her dentist has up. We're fast approaching 4, we've only got 13 more days to go, but I figure we'll work on it as soon as we get home from Disney. Delaney was a late starter on the binky, she used one to fall asleep but when we took her to Disney World right around 20 months, she got sick on our vacation and since then hasn't let it go, should be interesting. We've been talking about the binky fairy coming and Delaney wants roller skates so we've told her that the binky fairy will bring her skates when she's ready to give up the binky.

I have almost completed one of the storybook skirts, I just need to get the elastic into the waistband. RJ and Delaney love it, I'm not so sure about it, I'll try and get a picture up tomorrow. I have one of those large fabric appliques from Joann's that I need to put on a tank top to complete the outfit. We leave in 9 days and I have a million things to do and a million things I wanted to sew before leaving so I'm trying to sneak as much sewing time in as possible. Delaney's birthday party is mostly taken care of, I just have to confirm the number and we'll be good to go on that.

Delaney finished preschool today, they did a little program, got diplomas, and then has ice cream. I'm so sad that they are already done.

I've been going to the dentist every Friday this month and tomorrow is my last visit for 8 weeks. I'm so glad that I'm almost done. I just have a couple of fillings tomorrow and I hope he'll take the stitched out from my crown extension surgery last week, the stitches are making me nuts, I keep getting poked by them, I shouldn't complain, I thought the tooth he ended up working on last time was going to have to get pulled but when he was doing the deep cleaning he discovered that the tooth wasn't nearly as bad off as he thought so he saved it. I just have to go back and get the perm. crown on in 8 weeks. Then it's off to the oral surgeon for two implants, those have to set for 5 months before they get the perm crowns on those but I'm done after that. Two years of dental stuff coming to an end. YEA!

My dentist is teasing me about who I'm going to spend our Friday date time with, he's a hoot. He even said he was going to miss me. Yeah, sure...

I've got to get my still awake small person headed for bed and then I've got to plot out what I have time to sew before our trip. I need a halter for Delaney's pink princess petti for sure. I also need to applique a couple of tops for her and for me. I guess if I don't get to my own I'll live.

I got my other neice's shirt done. It was much easier the second time. Here is a picture of both girls before school today...

And one with my nephew. They were pretending he was Mickey Mouse and they were fighting over him since they were both Minnie Mouse.

Great purses and love the crayon roll too!!! There must have been a "crayon roll" wave running through Atlanta and we both caught it!!

I love those! I really love love love that ribbon where did you get it?

http://www.namemaker.com/ I started making her a hair bow with it when we got it (almost 2 years ago) but never finished it. I also have a light pink ribbon with my nieces name on it (I'm going to make her crayon roll with it) and one that says "My Nana Loves Me". They are really cute!

I was soooo excited to find these. My MIL and I have been on a hunt for these ever since Tom made Leighanna's Mrs. Potato Head outfit. I am definitely going to try and do something similar to Tom's outfit with these but it will definitely be a CAB but I will hope for the best!!!

I made crayon rolls last night. 14 of them. For my DD's class today. I was pretty sick of them by the time it was over. All of the kids (and parents) loved them though. I forgot to take pics.

Stepping on soap box........

My poor little DD3 broke out in a fever Monday  and I stayed home from work with her Tuesday and Wednesday. I took her to the pediatrician Wed saying she had a high fever (101), a bit of a croup cough, threw up once (she does this anytime she has a fever). The doctor checked her out, took a urine sample but didnt send it out. I felt he kinda blew me off, patted me on the head (not really) and said to go home, she has a virus and will get better soon.

So my wonderful DH took off work to stay home with her today. She had a 101.5 fever this morning before I left and I felt horrible leaving her but I had to get to work. (I'm a teacher and its hard to just take off consecutive days.) I left work as soon as I could and arrived back home and she still has a high fever 101 +. I call the pediatrician back and they said the exact same thing to me. Although they said if she is still feverish Monday to come in again. Here is me  :headache: :sad2:

So I take her to our local Urgent Care around 6 pm because we have a great doctor there and its fast and friendly and they listen to you. So I again explain all of the symptoms. He listens to her and immediately wants a chest x-ray. Yuppers...that was the trick....she has pneumonia! Poor thing  . They showed me the x-rays and got us all set up with medicine and treatments and love and concern. :flower3:

What a relief. My DH and I were really going crazy today with worry. I knew it was more serious than a simple virus....you know how you can just tell. So Praise the Lord!!!!!! :yay: She is all set up now and hopefully will be getting better over the next few days. In fact she is sleeping right here next to me and I am greatly relieved. Don't worry, I will be calling the pediatrician's office back and giving them a piece of my mind....blowing me off like that :snooty: :snooty: :snooty: As I always say, when it comes to healthcare you really gotta be a lion about it!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for listening to my ramble!

On a lighter note:
All of these adorable crayon roll-ups are great. Maybe I can try some this weekend!!! Is there a bookmark on how to make them? I will check!

OK back to read the thread! :surfweb: Have a great night everyone!!

I hear your pain. To make a long story short I had to seriously fight and argue a few years ago to get a strep test for Luke. They (not my reg. Dr.) insisted he was too young to have strep, no one that age ever gets strep, blah blah blah...he must have a stomach virus :headache: finally she (the Dr.) got all huffy and ordered the test implying with every word and gesture that it was just to get me off her back and out the door. So, how do you think the test came out? :rotfl: It sure took the attitude out of her! I am a strong believer in the mom knows best theory!!! There is a lot to be said for that mother's instinct.

so sorry for your little one! I HATE it that doctors are such know it all poo heads! RAR!!! I am so glad you got someone to listen so you get treatment started!!! Poor baby! Prayers are with her...and I'm sending an eyebrow arch and a dirty look to the doctor who blew y'all off!

I remember having pneumonia when I was about 4...I had it the same time as my dad...and I threw up on his arm...and the sheets were orange and white striped...and I hallucinated that a clown was talking to me...

I have an issue with clowns to this day.

Please, for the sake of your daughter...keep all stuffed clowns away from her while she is ill...seriously...

:goodvibes

Been mostly in lurker mode for the last couple of weeks. I have been sewing, though! Sadly, nothing Disney. DH just accepted a new job with a higher salary, so I'm trying very hard to talk him into celebrating at Disney, but he's not going for it. :confused3 He thinks we should save the money or something. :sad2:

Caleb had preschool graduation last Friday and I made Ella a little something to wear. I don't have any great pics of it, but it's Carla's peasant top and easy fit pants.

th_calebella1.jpg

th_prekgrad4.jpg

Sorry about the disguise sticker - that child doesn't belong to me, so I didn't want to plaster his face all over the net.
Oh goodness!! How CUTE is that!!!!

The disguise sticker has me cracking up!!!
OK, got one more! Here's a little number that was inspired by a set on - it was really easy, just shirred the first few inches and the straps.

Little story: Ella has been to 3 weddings. She's absolutely obsessed. We went to one in January, right after we got back from WDW - she INSISTED that we "meet that white princess. Did we bring our book?" (autograph book.) My friend cracked up (and also was very flattered) when I told her Ella thought she was a Disney princess. OK, so I try this outfit on Ella and she gets all excited, asking if we are going to a wedding. No clue where she got the idea we were going to a wedding. Crazy girl.

th_ellaflowerdress.jpg
Aww, that is adorable!!! Hey, if Ella wants to go to a wedding, Tessa, Lydia and Arminda will be in one this weekend!

And, I have to find Arminda and Lydia some shoes to wear!

Here is what I have been working on this week.

I need some help!!!

Ok, I'm sure Heather would tell you that I actually need LOTS of help, but this is about sewing...

I'm pretty sure this is discontinued, but does anyone know what pattern this is and/or where I can find it?

This is the dress that Alicia and Isabelle would like me to make for the Big Give.

GOOD MORNING DISBOUTIQERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't know why I am in such a good mood with 2 sick kids, sleep deprivation and 14 crayon rolls to make (peer pressure from you all :) ) But I am in a great mood!!!!! WAKE UP EVERYONE IT IS A PRETTY DAY!!!!!!!!!

I am completely jealous! I just loved Tom's outfit. Everytime I go to Cracker Barrel in Lancaster I look around the store. I even tried the online store but to no avail....congratulations on your find!

If you go into Cracker Barrel - talk to the retail person and ask them to track one down for you at another store and then have it transferred back to your store - yes they can do that - I just quit CB after working there for 4 years -trust me. If thy say they can't then ask them for the 800# where you can call tell them what you want, but you'll have to pay a shipping charge to get it to your house.

Don't forget to check out the porch sales in July where you could find this shirt there as well at 70% off.
