Disboards running so slow!?

How do you keep the boards from running so slow. I tried restarting my computer, but for the past week or so they are taking forever to load pages. Anyone else having/had this problem? It is almost enough for me to stop coming on here.

I've had the same problem. I can zip through two or three other sites in the time it takes for one page to load here.

Slow and I also get the "fatal error" when I post at times even though the post goes through.

It comes and goes for me but hasn't happened in a while, until recently. It used to happen A LOT so in retrospect, it's not bad now.

Yes, this is how I know it's the DIS and not my computer.

I actually think this is a yearly thing. Some time well after Labor Day, WMAlex usually schedules an overnite DIS update. Maybe it's to clean up all the clogging that happens over the summer, with more people coming to the boards to find out about Disney vacations?

Yes, I agree and it's SO frustrating! I haven't been spending as much time on these boards the last several days because of the they're so slow.

I've noticed it too. I suspect the database on the back end just needs some maintenance. It happens from time to time.

It's been horribly slow - for a few days now.. I don't have a lot of patience waiting for the pages to load - I could be reading my books instead - so I probably won't hang around too long tonight..

I found this was running really slowly on ie7.0 and I was getting 503 server errors, however when I try it on firefox it runs brilliantly. I find that changing browsers according to the sites I'm going to can make a big difference and they run simultaneously so it's all good.

Test which browser works best for which site and enjoy the differences

Is this the NEW upgrade of Firefox, you are using? Version 3.6.8? I haven't upgraded yet, even though I get a pop-up every day telling me to upgrade. The DIS is as S. . .L. . .O. . .W. . . as m.o.l.a.s.s.e.s.

This is an ongoing problem with the Dis Boards. The problem gets fixed and then a few months later the site is running slow as beans again. I noticed it last weekend. I could not stand to sit and wait so I moved on. Reminded me of old dial-up!

Slow boards are not good for advertisers, either. Hopefully someone in tech support will give this place a needed tune-up.

At night time for me on the West Coast is when it seems to slow down the most. I figured that's when it'd be up the fastest, since central and east coast would probably be in bed. Drives me nuts some days, and thought about making a topic on the tech board.

I know it's not the computer (only a couple months old) and the internet has speeds up to 6mb (at&t uverse). I use Opera browser for the Disboards. Google Chrome is another I favor sometimes, but not usually for the Dis.
But it usually happens at night, when I should be going to bed anyways. So it's my queu to just give up and go to sleep.
