Disboards App

I'm just wondering if anyone else is using the App, and if so, how have you found it lately?

I prefer the layout of the App when using a smaller tablet screen, so I'm rarely on the actual Dis website. However the App has been really playing up for me lately.

Quite often I write a long response to people's questions, only to have it time-out during the sending process and then completely disappear. I try to remember to 'copy' responses before I send them, but you can almost guarantee that the times I forget are the times all my text disappears into the abyss. If it was a long response, I usually can't be bothered rewriting it.

I have had a few iPad issues lately, so suspect it could be that. However, before I try deleting and reinstalling the App, I thought I'd ask how others are finding it.

I'm the opposite. I'm used to the app layout and now don't like the website layout. But the issues are starting to drive me insane.

I particularly hate the way every time I push edit or quote, the app changes the layout of everything that's been written.

I always get parse errors at the same time every night and it often times out when I'm posting. I normally cancel it and it still gets submitted. I find I get lots of time out messages when trying to open different boards and threads. It is very slow.

There's a time every night for we Australians where we can't get on the boards because they're doing updates in the early hours of US time.

I've been having a lot of issues the past few days of the app timing out while trying to open up. It's at various times so I know it's not because of the 'witching hour'. I rarely use the laptop now so I don't know if it's affecting that or just the app.

I generally use the app, rarely use my pc. I always get parse errors. Quite annoying actually!

The app in theory is great and I WISH it worked better. I have it for my iPhone and it overall stinks!!! I always get a "timed out" error message and the app hardly ever works properly. Too bad. I wish it could get revamped and it desperately needs an update.

Bother, it sounds like it's a general issue that everyone is facing and not one I can easily fix by reinstalling the App or cleaning up my iPad.

Like SSour, most of the time my messages do go through if I push cancel, but occasionally they don't and this is becoming more frequent.
Plus I need to backspace out of the whole section I'm in and go then go back in to see if my message was actually processed. When the App is running slow, this takes unnecessary time.

You could fix the problem by getting an Android based device the Android version of the app is still pretty clunky, but it hasn't become any clunkier in the last few days / weeks, so I don't think it's got the same issues the Apple versions are experiencing.

I have an android phone and I can never get the app to work It always says "connecting to server" or something but never actually loads anything.

I disagree, I've got it on my Android devices and I've stopped using it because it's useless. I wish it did work because I found ìt better than the browser on my phone.

I get all sorts of problems, starting with the "incorrect sign in. Attempt 1 of 5" error every time I open it, to time outs on every post, and the fact that the images are too small (not a glitch, I just don't like it).

I complained about it, but apparently it's not owned/managed by the dis so they can't do anything about it...

Rarely use it, unless I am desperate, don't have my laptop, and are DESPERATE FOR SOME DIS!

I also get the incorrect log in issues, all sorts of weird things...

Really WISH that the apps were BETTER!!!!

I have the same issues as BecBennett with the android app but mine has never worked properly as 90% of the time it won't even let me post so I have given up and don't use the app but use the full version via google on my tablet. OT my FB app isn't letting me post status any more either - technology - if it wasn't so useful I'd hate it...

It was a good little app but the original owner sold it and things just haven't been right since.
We are looking at options

Nice to know I'm not the only one having problems with the App. I gave up and now only go into the site. I thought it was just me being useless.
