Thanks Pete - a few more questions - Does DU have access to the best codes out there or do I have to tell them what code I would like to use. Also, what happens if new codes come out after I book my room? Does DU automatically lower my room rate or do I need to notify them? Also does DU handle "handicap-accesible room" reservations?

You do need to find your best price... Dreamsavers will continue to check for lower rates but of course it wouldn't hurt if you did too!
They will book the lower rate at no extra charge.
I don't know that the handicapped accesible question has come up but since that can be part of a standard reservation I don't see why not...

Yes, accessible rooms can also be booked just as standard rooms can.

If you have reservations at an All-stars, and find out a better code for a moderate,does this mean a $15 charge for the change. I guess what I'm asking is can you change between hotels keeping the same dates for free, or is there a charge?

Hi Samsma,

DISavers will not charge the $15.00 to secure a better rate at the Resort on your original reservation however, there will be a $15.00 charge to change Resorts.

I have a two week DM package booked for Christmas. We check into All Star Sports on Dec. 19. If I join DISavers, when is the latest I could have my trip changed over from WDTC to DISavers? I want to join DISavers soon, but don't want to change the reservation until I know I won't be making anymore changes. I've revised this trip many times since I first booked it in January. I think I'm done now, but you never know.

Ok, I have another questions. How are you getting around that kickback, rebates or whatever you want to call them is illegal in the travel industry?

Also why did the discounted ticket offer stop that you used to have?

Rebates are not illegal. We are free to spend our commission any way we choose. The sucess of this particular program may not go over well with other travel agencies, and I understand that, but to suggest that we are breaking the law is stepping over the line.

Hi Pete,
thanks for answering my question. A few years ago a local company approched us about taking care of their travel arrangements. They were quoted from other agencies that they would get back x amount for each booking. At that time it was illegal to do this and the other agency got fined for it from IATA.

I haven't checked into it since but maybe the rules have changed.

I didn't mean to imply anything. I was just stating something that I knew was fact 3 years ago.

Can someone help me with this DISavers thing.

1: From what I've read you make your reservations through them and you get a rebate of 10%. Is this correct?

2: This is a good deal for people who already are familiar with wdw and what they want.

3: Can you book package deals as well such as Discovery Magic Packages, or specialty cruises, or meal reservations, etc.?

4: How much is DISavers membership and is it a yearly fee?

5: How do i find DISavers...what's the e-mail address and/or phone number?

Any answers that anyone can give me will be so helpful. You guys are soooooo smart, that I know you'll have some answers for me. As a matter of fact, any info on DISavers would be appreciated. THANKS

Actually, we had checked into this issue a few years back when Dreams started offering Cruise rebates. Our lawyer did extensive research, and found that there was no legal issue with offering it. IATA is an organization, not a government agency as such. Perhaps that is a rule that they impose on thier members, but since Dreams does not carry air ticket stock, we are not IATA members. Also, the rules on what can be done with airlines directly might be different, but again, that would not apply to Dreams.

As for the discount tickets, the truth is that Disney did not like them being offered here. They said that the tickets were for people who got to Orlando and did not already have tickets. They threatened to pull the Official Ticket Centers contract if he did not stop advertising with us. I miss those deals being here, but anyone can still get those great prices by going directly to the OTC (http://www.officialticketcenter.com). Bruce Carter (the owner) is a top notch guy, and very honest and reputable. We send Dreams clients to him all the time

Yes, DISaver reservations will try to get better rates when available. If you find a better rate for your reservation, you should let DISavers know about it, as there are sometimes local discounts available which are not always commonly available even to agents. DISaver agents do keep up on the updated discounts made available by Disney, but it can never hurt to point out any discounts you find!

Ok, maybe I'm reading too much into this, but everyone wants to go ultra cheap and save, save, save. But the reality is that Disney will get their money one way or another. You can stop using their travel agency and go with these discounts, but eventually they will raise their prices to accomodate the loss. It's probably just a matter of whether or not this service is beneficial to you now. Because it's seems to me that everyone, sorry Pete, just wants a bit of the Disney action. And if they can convince people to buy into it, then good for them. As for me, I doubt I would ever use the service either, because I like to book everything myself. That way I know exactly what I'm paying for.
