What an awful day I've had, opened my front door this morning to find that the sewage pipes for four house had blocked and sewage had come up my drains in my front garden and was cascading over my grass, down my path and all along the path outside - not a pretty site at 7.30am!!

so after a lot of water, sweeping and cleaning of wellies I got it fixed by a very nice man. Anyone beat that for today??

No, cant beat that, sounds AWFUL and Im glad you and your man with wellies sorted it.

Im also having "one of those days" though nothing as bad as overflowing sewers! Rang my hairdresser to get my locks snipped and highlighted before going to DLP on Friday, to find she is moving to France as has packed up hairdressing  . Then ordered my Euros online and was called back to say their "banking system" was going to be offline till next week and werent taking any orders. Had to spend another hour on the phone trying to speak to a "real person" at my bank to confirm the transaction hadnt gone through on my card  . Got my Annual Travel insurance policy from the Halifax today and they had "forgotten" to add on DH's medical conditions (which according to the policy booklet HAD to be listed), so ANOTHER 45 minutes battling automated telephone systems  .

Its the sort of day that even a snog from Russell Crowe couldnt make any better (aw, well, maybe THAT might ;) )

Allie

Hoping WE ALL have a better day tomorrow!

What a day Gill!!! Poor you!! But I'm pleased to see Tim has salvaged a positive note from the experience ;) (oh dear not sure I like the use of the word "salvage" in this context!)

Allie - I detest those automated queueing systems too!

I have had a good day today - most unusual for a Monday I must say!

Oh no! :( What an awful start to the week for you.

My Monday wasn't too bad but I did manage whilst clearing out a load of old shoes to accidently put a lovely pair of boots in the Salvation Army clothes recycling bin - I'd picked them up thinking they were an old tatty pair I needed to throw out and realised when I got home that they were still sitting in the cupboard - doh!!!

Astrid

Oh SSSh.. NO!
Seriously before you shout at me. We had a house a few years ago that we bought and without our knowledge there was a 7 ft blockage in the drain at the bottom of the soil stack. This eventually started coming up into the shower--not nice. When we dug the drains up it was almost knee high in ........ Put it this way the old house owners knew this was a problem as there was a drilled hole in the drain and they never told us (they had dynarod in). I hate teachers who move from Bolton to Blackburn, i will return the favour post curry/guiness night out one day!!!!!!!!!
