Disappointment with Disney Visa

Be careful on the business purchases. Most of these reward cards prohibit accumulating points for business purchases. I got mine today and was just looking at the booklet. I use mine occasionally for business but scatter them around on different cards so it's not noticable (I have several cards that get rewards - AOL, Sears, HSN, AmEx).

It's not a corporation business. I work from home, so everything I spend out of my own pocket is part of the at home business of mine. (Office Max, supplies, etc.) Thanks for the concern though :)

actually, you're right. i forgot about that. it seems so long ago, i forgot i had the MKC briefly for a year before DC came out. grrrr... Disney had me thinking that DC was good. :earseek: argh.

yeah, see how Disney is? if this keeps going the way it is, and we keep supporting these crappy offers, in a few years, they'll have come out with something even more pathetic... and people will be saying

"hey where can i write to complain about how lame _____ is, and how it's not an acceptable replacement for the Disney Visa card?"

*shudder* ugh.

disneyberry, you are too funny :p :p :p

Sorry for the sad reminder :( :( :(

I also don't really care what the card looks like, though the Universal card looks a liitle nicer. But I figure if I am paying the balance off every month, may as well get something for it. And put it towards something I like! As far as rewards, it is comparable to the Universal card, except you get points which come close in value to 1%.

Just a note about all the comparing to Discover ....

Remember Discover does not give you a flat 1% as folks seems to be implying - if you read the fine print they give you UP TO 1% depending on your spending level and activity.

So the Disney card is actually better for those who do not charge a lot.

Just a clarification and a little positive thought on the card that the evil empire just launched

I'm not disappointed, in part because I never expected the Disney Visa to replace Disney Club. I always thought it would be a typical reward card, and so it is.

How often I use the Disney VISA will depend on how the program develops. But if I only use it minimally it will still be better than my current non-reward VISA.

Got my Disney Visa in the mail today. I know I previously posted that I didn't really care how it looked, that I wasn't planning on mounting it on the wall to look at - I do have to say it sure is mighty cheap looking IMO. Oh well, guess it will charge just as well as any other card :D . I do plan on using the card, even though the 1% isn't much over a period of time I might save up enough points to get a Pooh bear.

Many co-branded cards have better point accumulation opportunities (L.L. Bean-free shipping & 3 points per dollar for LLB purchases-1pp$ for other purchases; Delta Optima-2mp$ for grocery stores, drug stores et al.; Amazon-3 pp$ for Amazon purchases; GM has already been mentioned) ranging in value from $.01 to $.05 per mile/point. The new Disney Visa has hinted at better point-earning programs in the future. So, if your credit report can handle another credit card and you pay off monthly, why not?
