Disappointing bus experience

Can I give you a kiss KevinM? What a great reply! Thank you! :goodvibes

Oh joy...another bus thread...here we go again.

No, I would give the ball back, but that analogy was stupid and has nothing to do with a bus discussion. Sorry, but I do not give up my seat (I'm a woman), but I do teach my son to give up his seat to someone elderly. This does not include parents who are too cheap or too stupid to rent a car. I still say that if you insist on crowding onto a bus that has no seats available, you take what is left. Oh, and the times it was raining and I was too tired to wait...I took a taxi. They are right outside the entrance and for a few bucks can get you to your hotel pretty quickly.

Yep, I are stupid. Since I do not see well after dark I are dumb enough to think that taking a bus is safer for those of you who are driving and since I am not overly rich I am not about to fork out money for a taxi either.

Maybe one day, when it is not raining and a bus is the only transportation available we might share a seat and I will glady give you a smile cause it shure to seem like you need one. Give you a hug too , if you promise not to bite me.

Slightly Goofy (who is going to come to your next yardsale and see how much you are charging for all those balls you have collected) (sort of kidding)

::yes:: Have it ready yet?!

My 2 cents. Disney01 you need to learn to state your opinions with a little more tact. You have every right to your opinion but words like cheap and stupid are just rude.

As for the bus situation. I will always give up my seat to someone in more need. I figure if I've managed to walk the parks for hours on end what's another 15 minutes standing.

Wow. i had the opposite happen. i was always offered a seat but usually declined. My kids loved to stand on the bus. i came across wonderful people.

I remember once my ds was too tired to stand on the bus. There was no way I could balance myself holding him. So I had him sit on the dirty floor and hold onto my legs. This was after fantasmic and we were staying at CSR.

I would have found an awning and waited for the next bus. I have found that it's never a good idea to expect other folks to endanger themselves, or even just inconvenience themselves, just because I wanted to save my family from a little discomfort (such as waiting in the rain).

I can only speak for myself, but this is not the simple issue it once was. I was raised to respect this particular tradition, and very rarely sit on a bus at all, I am usually the first to volunteer my seat. I have though, on one occasion been read the riot act by a woman who was offended that I would assume she couldn't stand simply because she was a woman, belittled and accused of being sexist in front of my own children, and on another occasion, was roundly chastised for holding a door for a woman. (a holdout habit from my boyscout days). I still do both these things, but while doing them am on the lookout for attacks.

Luckily what I witness is just the opposite. Usually three people are trying to get someone holding a baby, or an elderly person standing, their seat. I have even offered my seat for an elderly man. I don't think the person's sex makes a difference either.
It is nice if someone offers. But if they chose not to, then that's that. Same as letting others in front of you in traffic. Nothing says anyone has to. But if they do, it makes like easier.
