Just read from another site that Mickey's Soundsational Parade will not debut till summer. First I heard January than Spring Break .....

Any one else heard this....I am going mid may and was really hoping to see it too..

Also said Ariel ride and the new star tours would not be opening till summer either

You may be able to see all of them.

We will know in a little longer than a month when Soundsational will start. Right now DL can't host a parade because it's doing the repaving of Main Street that it does everyother year. While Disney stated the parade would happen before this, repaving takes a long while. There may not of been sense to run it for two weeks and then have it need to stop for two months. Around March 15th the repaving should be done and soon we might see the calendars update with a parade. We should see a marketing push too. This is by no coincidence when Spring Break crowds start to show up.

ST and LM will open in Spring. All indications are for May. Of course spring extends three weeks into June. Going in mid may though will be really hit or miss for them. Cross you fingers on this.

Thanks!

I really do hope the parade will be up and running. We are going to be there May 17-19. LM and ST's would be a bonus to us since we live in Florida and will be able to see those in the future at WDW.

I've read that article you're talking about. I also found the press release where he got the information from. It's actually a WDW press release with the DL info buried way at the bottom.

There's no reference to it on the DL press website, so I sent am email to my contact there.

I'll let you all know if I hear anything or see confirmation anywhere else official.

From an older thread...somewhere!

A new parade, Mickey’s Soundsational Parade, will stomp, clang and drum its way to Disneyland park next year.

Today, we’re sharing the first preview of the artwork for Mickey’s Soundsational Parade. It gives you a glimpse of the vibrant colors and exciting array of Disney characters that may appear on the streets of Disneyland park in 2011.
Plus, there are a whole lot of exciting elements for the new parade that can’t be captured in this artwork:
  • The parade is an explosive music festival with thrilling rhythms and bold percussion that will bring to life some of the most beloved melodies from Disney films.
  • Live musicians will amplify the fun. Mickey Mouse and some of your favorite Disney characters will play live and will encourage members of the crowd to join a giant jam session.
  • Lively dancers will stomp out rhythms as a syncopated drum line, twinkling cymbals, steel drums and more entertain guests with sensational sounds!
The parade promises to be the most foot-stomping, infectious festival of music you’ve ever seen — or heard! I’ve heard it’s “soundsational!”

i have not heard anything about this new parade, this is all new to me... is this really happening at DL california?

Hmmm...not sure about the parade hitting Main St for spring break. I was thinking more in line for the summer promo. LM and ST2.0 hopefully will have soft openings by early to mid-May.

YEah I also read that they might postpone things to deal with the Pirates 4 premiere.

And yes the parade is happening Funball.

The big 3 this year are Star Tours 2.0, the new parade, and Little Mermaid.

Auditions for the parade are March 5, so depending on how long they take to rehearse and set it all up, who knows...

I found this press release. http://wdwnews.com/viewpressrelease.aspx?pressreleaseid=116320&siteid=1 It says that Star Tours is going to be June and Little Mermaid and Soundsational will be summer, but when does Disney feel summer starts :confused3

Yep. That's the only thing I could find too.

Hey jlwhitney - we're going May 17 - 20, so we'll be there at the same time! I'm taking the stance of if LM and ST are open, we would love to see them; however, if they aren't open - we'll have smaller crowds. Just try to see the silver lining and enjoy whatever is open when you're there. The new parade would be nice, though...

I've seen in two places that Star Tours will not open until June in California.

Easywdw.com has a note up today that the Ariel ride will not be opening this summer at all. Don't know any more than that, but that would be a shame.

"Late summer" on the new Ariel attraction would be more accurate. The fact that they still aren't giving a date or better guidance makes June/July less likely.

Is that possibly for WDW where the LM has never been planned to open in 2011?

No, it's for DCA.

I know these things are hard to pin down absolutely, but I wish they could do better. I'm not so concerned with my trip falling when I just miss one new attraction. But I am concerned with picking a week, and then later finding I'll be there right when something new DOES open, and draws in all those local crowds.
