Disappointed!!!

I rode SE for the first time last week and I loved it! Also I remember going backwards and looking at all the little lights at the end when we rode it last week , was it something different you all are talking about?

I was wondering if anyone was going to bring this up - you still do ride down backwards at the end, slowly with the million twinkling lights above you...love it! Or do they now have 2 modes (like EE) one with lights on & one with lights off? I rode it about 4 times in December & the lights were there every time.

When did the refurb happen? I rode SSE in December and the backwards-lights segment was still there. I'm a little sad to hear it's gone, I loved it too. But I'm looking forward to trying the new SSE in a couple weeks then!

We loved the old version of SE and cannot wait to try out the new version on our trip. We especially can't wait to see what the interactive part is going to be like. :goodvibes

For people who don't like the new version, you're probably older people (thirties and up) who like to remember the "good ol' days" (not a bad thing).

Well, that last interactive section was not designed with you in mind, it was designed for the millions of kids between the ages of 1 and 29 who are the new digital natives. The ones who can pick up a cell phone and program it without a manual. I know my kids love the interactive portion of the ride, as do 99.9% of them.

If you're easily amused (like my friend & I were in December on our girls only trip) then you'll love the interactive ending! We laughed so hard we were crying. My friend was laughing so hard she was doing that not-making-any-noise-but-shaking laughter, and she was doubled over the side of the car - the CM's rushed over at the end because they thought she was sick or hurt! We rode it over & over, changing the answers to the interactive questions every time to see all the different "skits." I never laughed so hard in my entire life!

Glad to see they updated it. Can't wait to give it a whirl in April. Nothing wrong with updating rides and themes to make them more relevant in the current society.

I loved loved loved the new SSE. Much better IMHO
Hugs
Joanne

I'm so confused. When I rode SSE in December, I got the new interactive ending with the character creation/future scenario (which I LOVED!) but we also had the rolling backwards under the stars part. Now a couple months later they've ditched the backwards part but still have the interactive ending? :confused3

Hey!!! I'm a little offended!

NO FAIR! I'm sad you think because of "age" that pp (previous poster or party-pooper?) is like all "older than 29". I mostly lurk the boards, but thought this was an interesting thread. I sincerely hope you don't view all older people that way.

Cosmic Daisy, I'm with you and I'm a bit offended too. Who figures out things on the computer or cell phones before my 17 yo son? Who also knows Facebook? Yes, c'est moi!

I loved the fun endings of the new version of SSE and, since I am currently (trying my best) learning another language, it was super "cool" (showing my age -- old lingo??) to ride with the capability to set a language (French -la plus belle langue) other than English. I rode in November - didn't notice the lack of the twinkling lights because I was paying attention to the screen - had to concentrate more due to the new language skills I was attempting (listening and reading)! LOL!

I am definately OLDER than 29, but I have always been open to change and new technologies!

Life is NOT certain - eat desert first! :cutie:

I heard mixed reviews of it before we did it last September. I have to say I loved it! The little video was hilarious and I loved how they incorporated our pictures! I took a video of it with my camera and it still makes me laugh when I rewatch it. I also saw that the lights were still there and it wasn't "dark" outside of the car.

It was definitely a good experience and seeing the selections we did on the monitor was a riot!!!! We will definitely do this a number of times during this year's vacation!!!:thumbsup2

The refurb took place over a year ago so you rode the new version :)

I'm a (almost) 50 year old software engineer,
Don't nobody program my phones and electronics but me.
I really enjoyed the new version.

Hey, now you're all piling on.

Go back and read what I wrote, I said "those that don't like" the new SSE are older, not those that are older won't like it.

Heck I'm 40. You can e-mail the photos to yourself and have them as keepsakes. I love these:

I completely agree with you 100%. I LOVED the old ending with the sparkly city and lights, we always rode SSE last because we loved it so much, paired with the music and Jeremy Irons, it was one of our fave attractions. The interactive ending was funny once, and that was it. Plus the end of the ride seems so unfinished now...they did a terrible job with the ending. The beginning parts and updates were great however.

Also, we are mid-twenties....
