Disbrides,
After all of the drama of the past 24 hours, I have to say I am really disappointed in some of you. I am not your mother or sister, but we always share so much with each other so I really thought about what I wanted to say here.
I found out about this forum in 2004. I really enjoyed the spirit and the helpfulness that was given by all of the brides as I was planning my wedding. We shared the joys and the challenges of planning a wedding that not everyone will ever get to have. How blessed we are.
Yes, I understand that there were people making fun of other people, people trying to stir up trouble but I thought we would conduct ourselves at a higher level than that. What I saw over the last 24 hours really made me sad to be a member of this group. The wanting to "call people out" to "strike back" to "stir up trouble" was disappointing. Instead of holding themselves above they fray some people chose to antagonize which brought a higher level of attack.
This has happened before and will again. I would ask you, does what someone say over the internet change your opinion of yourself, your families opinion of you. These are faceless people that have no bearing in your life. Why do you read these things? What does it matter what they say? If you want to be the kind of person that engages this behavior, then I don't feel as though you have a place in this community. We only want people who are supportive and helpful those who don't attack or antagonize.
I would encourage you all to continue to take the high road. To mind the rules of the forum, because regardless of who does the activity everyone will be treated the same when it comes to infractions.
If they start a thread or post in your thread report it but do not respond. They are not worth your precious time. Think about what the past 24 hours has taken from you. Hours that you won't get back in planning your wedding or event.
I hope that in the future you will treat this with the attention that it desevers...none.
Go forth and plan wonderful events!
Jonette
