Disappointed with photopass

On our last trip in December of 2005, there were so many photographers out. They were everywhere. We were in the parks for 5 days and when we got home and checked our pictures on line, there were over 40 pictures. Some of the pictures were good, some weren't. I got a really nice 8 x 10 of us on Main Street and by using the cropping feature, I was able to get almost all of the background people out of the shot. I added a cute Magic Kingdom border with all the major characters and Tinkerbell up in the corner sprinkling pixie dust and it came out really nice. I hope things improve with Photopass for my trip this August.

There is confusion with this. They still do the borders, signatures and special Tink photo for regular Photopass (if you buy your photos at WDW or buy them at home online) BUT they do not do those enhancements for the Photopass CD any longer!

I actually don't blame them for discontinuing doing the enhancements for the CD. Some guests had over 100 photos that they want enhancements to which could take well over an hour to accomplish per guest.

I would never rely on the Photopass photographers for my vacation photos. Its a great way to get everyone in the picture but I still have them take a photo with my camera just in case.

I still love the Photopass feature (being able to order them at home now instead of in the park; having everyone in the picture) and I'm sure they'll work out all the kinks since it is still very new.

If I actually had enough photos on my Photopass card to make it worth buying the CD for $99, I'd just buy one or two photos with the enhancements and then I'd put them all on the CD for printing them at home. Then I could still get a couple of good ones with the borders/signatures or Tink but also still get them all on CD. Problem solved.

We estimated that the photopass cd would break even with cost of having them printed there at 6 prints. Our math may be off though........

Its a shame that they stopped the enhancements and people are reporting that photographers are hard to find.
DH and I went at the end of February/beginning of March and photographers were everywhere.
We got over 70 photos done and there were only a few that didn't turn out good.
Haven't had a problem with our CD either.

Hope the issues get straightened out for our next trip.

We just got back and saw many photopass photographers. We got our CD with 26 photos on it. All, but one or two, are great. We did not stop at each PP person we saw. They do the Tink on the CD for you. There were not PP people with each character, but many did have them.

I plan on stopping to get pictures with every photopass photographer we see and also handing them my camera to take another oicture or two with that. I want more pictures of us as a fmaily instead of ones minus me. i'm also goignt o teach DH how to use the camera dn geta decent picture so I can be in more also. I guess I'll have to order a print while at Disney along with my CD so I can have the borders with the year on one.

We just got back last night and were disappointed with the quality of the pictures. There was a cute one of my daughter "holding" Tink but the castle is not in the background and the picture is at a weird angle! On 2 others the photographer cut half of my dad off!

They stopped doing Stitch. They only do Tink now.
I wonder why they stopped doing Stitch and not Tink? :confused3 I was really looking forward to doing the Tink photo in MK, Stitch out of the hat in MGM and a cute picture of my DD holding Simba in AK. I would definately buy those pictures!

On our last trip, the picture of my DD holding Tink turned out great and I ordered that one. However, when we had our picture taken at MGM, the photographer gave us the hat to hold and told us there would be a surprise in the hat when we viewed the picture. He even told us to make a "surprised" look on our faces. At the time we didn't know that Stitch was going to be in the hat. We figured it out later. It was pretty funny when we got home and looked at our pictures online and there we all were with funny looking surprise faces and my DD was just holding an empty hat!!! I was so glad the Tink picture turned out. I'm not much of a Stitch fan so I wouldn't have ordered that one anyways, but it was such a funny picture with that empty hat!

So they make you add the enhancements BEFORE they save them to the CD? I guess they can't give out the software for doing it yourself on every disc, but they could put all of the possible enhancements in a separate folder on the CD so that we could play with the pics at home.

I have asked this before, but maybe it wasn't clear?

I always bring my laptop with me to Disney and view my pictures each night. I have added borders and siggies and then saved that picture in my photopass account along with the original picture.

Does anyone know if those picture will be on the cd that you can have burned at the parks or at DTD?

Either way I still plan on buying it.

Also when I went in May and saw PP standing around I would walk up to them and asked to have our pics taken. I would search them out at the parks and have our pics done.

Also at MGM we did the stitch in the hat and when I viewed the CD when we got home the CM also stuck him coming out of a building..LOL It looks like he is about to jump onto the woman in the top left corner of the picture.

When we were there in April there were tons of Photo Pass photographers around. We were VERY pleased with the majority of our pictures, and stunned to find out we had over 100! The girl at the shop offered to put the enhancements on them and told us to just come back in a half hour, we did and they were ready. I would still have bought the cd without the enhancements though.

We were at WDW in May and I also was a bit disappointed with Photopass. This was our first time trying it and I was hoping to get photos with my dh & dd, rather than photos with just one parent. I felt that a lot of the photos were not very good - out of focus or off center from the backgrounds. Some of the photographers seemed totally uninterested in getting a good photo. And we really had to look for the photographers, there were not many around. We bought the CD, but only because there were photos on it that we didn't take with our own camera. We were able to get the borders at that time. I also think it would be great if they have some type of set up where you can view your photos and add the enhancements on your own, maybe at some type of kiosk. It's a good idea--I hope they can work out the kinks.
