I've never posted here, I have been a lurker for many years though. I've learned so many great tips from different posts, thank you to the experienced disboarders!

So, we just came home from our stay at BCV this week. We had a fabulous time together. LOVED the BCVs too! My disappointed comes with the attitude of people in the park. I've been going to WDW since 1979, pretty regularly too. I've seen A TON of rude people in my years, believe me! My disappointment was the lack of respect people have for the parks. Throwing trash on rides:eek: Who does that?!? I particularly notice on Haunted Mansion. People had thrown trash on the right side of the buggies as you get on the ride. It made me sad to see this.

Is it possible to start a Respect Disney movement?

Sad. Rude people that litter and are otherwise disrespectful tick me off, but as a die-hard Haunted Mansion fan, that really makes me angry....grrrrrrrrrrrrr....

I saw the same disrespect at DLR Haunted Mansion too! Do these people not know the wrath they can bring upon them by trashing our favorite ride?!? :furious:

;)

My first trip to a Disney park was in 1984 and the impression I remember most clearly was how clean it was. And call me crazy, but in this day and age with so many "environmentally friendly" people, one would think the parks would be cleaner than ever.:confused3

I know what you mean. During our last trip I saw this woman eating a turkey leg and just throwing pieces all over the place. She would drop bits of napkin and just keep going. It really made me mad. Then she sat beside a recycling bin and kept throwing bone and parts of food down in it. I couldn't take it any longer and so I mentioned to her that it was not a trash can, but for recycling plastic bottles. The trash can was sitting right beside it. She looked at me, laughed in my face, threw the entire rest of the bones and trash into it, then took her drink, opened it, dumped it into the recycle bin and then threw her plastic bottle into the trash can. I gave her a dirt look and bit my tongue because I didn't want to cause a scee. But boy was I thinking a few choice words! Then she told her little boy, in a stroller, to just dump his trash on the ground because they have workers here to "scoop up the garbage". These people were literally right in front of the trash can. NO RESPECT.

Oh my goodness, you should see Disneyland Paris---it is like a trash dump.

Literally, bottles, napkins, trash all over. Even on top of landings as you go through the wait at Big Thunder Mountain. I couldn't believe it.

My husband kept saying, "it's France, they're French" as if that explained it, but there was a prevailing "I could give a crap" attitude for sure. It's like they all think it's not in their job description. They could barely muster any of that Disney magic. It was the French version ::yes::

She just made her own life a living hell by saying that to her kid.... how do you think he will dispose of his garbage in her home from now on!?! She will be the one "scooping up the garbage" now! Justice is served!!:lmao:

Sorry to say but being in Disney is just like real life: people do stupid things:)

It's amazing how many filthy disgusting trashy people there are out there.
I can't stand when people throw garbage on the ground. Especially at Disney! !

So completely disrespectful.

We were there last week and I noticed that a lot of college kids are there on Spring break. I don't think it's much of a coincidence: large group of young adults having a good time with little adult supervision. Maybe I'm getting old (haha) but the teenager attitude did leave a little to be desired. My oldest (11) and I were waiting for RaRC when a mom beside us, with her young son said to him, "don't ever act like those kids." I gave her a chuckle and knowing nod.

~ Sadly, these reports of rude park guests are becoming commonplace. I have not seen trash strewn about in the parks or filthy restrooms -- and I hope not to ever encounter anything like that at Disney. :( I have seen a few tables that had leftover crumbs but nothing truly offensive.

~Are there enough garbage bins in the parks? Maybe there should be a trash bin right at the loading platform and CM's can just instruct guests to dispose of their trash before getting on the ride. It would certainly make less work for the CM's later.

~Anyway, I'm glad you had a fabulous trip! :cool1:

I'm going to play Devil's advocate here and say that maybe the trash that is seen on rides is not always because people are throwing it there but because people are accidentally dropping it. If the ride is moving its not like they can get out and get it.
Having said that I have seen people throw trash on the ground, but really not many (except for cigarettes). I know it happens but I guess I don't assume that every piece of garbage on the ground is put there purposely. YMMV.

My kids have been to Disneyland Paris and they thought the same thing.

I was there with my college kids on spring break last week and didn't see what you saw thankfully. When I have seen kids being rude etc they weren't American kids....and that's all I'm going to say about that.

Is it that people have become less tidy or that Disney is cutting the cleaning crews? People are people where ever they go I haven't noticed a great increase in disgusting people they have always been there.

As someone who works in the service industry, it is because people are less tidy. There is a huge sense of entitlement, to the point that people feel they can be disgusting and make a mess because someone is paid to clean up.

Maybe it's time to start counting steps again. It's been a long time since Disney determined that it's 30 steps. They could also not allow people to bring food or drinks into attractions.

I guess you don't remember the 70’s when trash was everywhere, including bottle caps, and cig butts............

It's totally uncalled for today especially at a Disney park where it's so clean...but if you ever stop to look at the ground right after a parade......you'd realize it's been going on forever. It's just disney cleans it up so fast.....

But karma is a witch !!

Aw man, so sorry that you had to see that kind of stuff. I do have to agree, sometimes the attitude of some (and sometimes most) of the people you run into in the parks can be far less than positive.
