We have stayed at Swan before due to rates that clearly beat Disney deluxe resorts. For our stay over MLK weekend, rates are no better than Beach Club or Yacht Club. Why stay at Swan/Dolp when you can stay at the other for the same $$...

I'm surprised you couldn't find a discount as there are so many, even this site offers codes for discounts. Are you a teacher, nurse or other government employee? During all my stays at the Swan I have ALWAYS had a discount available.:thumbsup2

If there's a big convention at the Swan/Dolphin - you'll be lucky to get a room at any rate.

if you join the starwood points club you can get discount emails. we just got one for thanksgiving week for rooms as low at 159 a nite.

I've called twice for Jan 27-31. I'm eligible for a teachers, govt, aarp, aaa or starwood discount... nothing was available with any of those discounts. The best I could do was a standard room at $259/night. Must be something going on. I noticed too that those dates were not considered a value or regular rate time.

I booked a room at POFQ instead at an AP rate.

I'm not a teacher or military, but am a Starwood Preferred member and also AAA. Best I could get over MLK weekend was $369! We stayed a couple New Year's Eve ago for half that.

My quote for standard room @Swan for 3 nights over MLK weekend, was only $130 less than a water view at Beach Club for same period.

I'm assuming you mentioned you had the AAA and you still couldn't get anything? I never spend over $200 a night and am always able to get a discount and I get an Epcot view and a few times upgraded to a suite!

I mentioned all the rates I'm eligible for(listed in other post) and there was not one room available for any of those rates.... :confused3

New Years is high too but not as bad. Its about $300 per night plus tax
so I am using points. My friends were not so lucky, they didn't have points
so aside from the one night I am giving them for a birthday present they
are paying the going rate. I tried every discount and nothing was working,
I even tried each day on its own, still no lower rate. Last time we stayed
there over NY we were able to use the 35% offer but they no longer have
that for the Swan/Dolphin. I still love the location for NY, you can't beat
walking back to the hotel after viewing the Epcot firework:cool1:
Its cheeper than the beachclub/yatchclub even at $309.00 per night

Just thought I'd let you know that I also called The Dolphin and Swan and was told the only discount rate left was for the balcony for 329.00 a night, no standard rooms. However, I went on www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com and got the standard room for the same date for the discount.
You should try to book online with them or at least check the rate.:confused3
