I just talked to my travel agent and she just got off the phone with a Disney CM and said that we can't get the discount. The CM told her that there was only so many rooms at each resort. I tried to call myself but they wouldn't help me b/c I went through a TA. :guilty:

So far, my working with a TA hasn't been very rewarding. This was the first time I went through one and will be my last. I've always done it myself and have gotten much better rates and discounts than they have. Sorry if I upset anyone on here who is a TA.

Hope everyone else has better luck than I did. :earsboy: I will still enjoy my vacation b/c it's at "Disney"!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I'm sorry you didn't have any luck :sad2: We already had a room only ressie at WL. I called WDW and told the CM that I had this existing ressie but wanted to change to the package. He was able to book the package at the same resort, and then cancel my room only. (NO charge to cancel the room only.)

Keep trying--I'm hoping you have better luck. My CM was great, wish I'd gotten his name.

It is true only a certain number of rooms are offered on the discount and once they are gone they are gone. Try going to Disneyworld's website and click on the special offers section and price through there and see if you can see anything available.

Here is a quote from Mousesavers saying how really limited this package is:
Be aware that many of the Disney hotels (especially the Deluxe and Moderate resorts) are already very heavily booked during this time period. There is virtually no availability November 5-13, especially for Moderate and Deluxe resorts. There may be no package discounts for the dates and hotel you want. Think of this as a "fire sale" -- Disney is clearing out the few remaining rooms.

Good luck

Thanks!! :earsboy:

So if I already have a res, they can't just add the code one??

Yes, you can!

You could try calling and just ask what your quote will be for your stay... w/ the discount OR go online... it is now available...then compare your exsisting price w/ the TA.
If you like the discount price better, make a new ressie and cancel your first one.

Make sense? :confused3

If there are no discounts available at your resort, then no they can not just add the discount to your exisiting reservation. You may have to change resorts to get a discounted room.

Yes - there are no discounts available at my resort CR at least when I'm going so could not apply to existing reserv. :guilty:

We are travelling on 21st October to the 28th - could Disney apply the discount to the last 5 days and we pay the regular rate for the first 2 nights? We are staying at ASMo.

Just talked to my TA about a similar situation (10/21-10/27). You'd have to split the stay, 10/21-10/23, then 10/23-10/28 with the discount, assuming of course there is availability it at ASMo (wasn't at CSR for me, so I kept my ressie--AAA discount). Then it's 2 separate ressies.

I think you would have to have two seperate ressies, but it might be worth it. This is what I did for DMIL. She is arriving Oct 22nd with AAA discount one night, then the package for 10 nights, then the discounted room only for the last two nights. So she has 3 ressies. Make sense??

We are staying at ASMo too! from the 21st to the 30th and I just ended my call with Disney. A very nice CM helped me out but we weren't able to change do that. :guilty: To change our original reservation we would have to pay a change fee so the "savings" were taken by the fee.... She told me this was because ours is a Magic Your Way package... but it is worth a try.... at least I was able to fix our Magical Express information :goodvibes

Call them and try, let us know if it works for you.... good luck!

I called this morning too for the discount code, I already have a package booked at Pop, with park hoppers and dining for 7 days. Well because there were no rooms available at any value resorts, she couldn't do it. But she did say there was an opening at Carribean Beach for only 120.00 more than my current package, well I told her that I would call her back after I called dh to see what he thought. I called dh and he said go ahead and when I called back Disney only 15 minutes later, they had no more available at Carribean!!

So I ended up booking at Coronado Springs for only 120.00 more. I am so excited because I really wanted to stay at a moderate but didn't want to pay the extra money!!! So that really made my day!!

But the CSR said they have been super swamped this morning with calls for this code.

Don't blame your TA.
If there isn't any availability or very few rooms left at full price, Disney will not apply the discount, it has nothing to do with your TA

When are you going? Many resorts were already sold out the first two weeks of November (November 10-12 are black out dates). Many resorts are also sold out the first weekend of December

You cannot if the resort doesn't have the availability for the discounted offer for their travel dates

Just a little note. I tryed to call last night to get this new discount but was told there was nothing left available at any of the resorts.( I boo hooed all night  ) The CM told me to call back early each am especially this first week to see if there have been cancelations to reservations made using this plan. He expects a lot. Well I called this am and was able to get in on the deal .Instead of the Pop , I moved up to the CBR and saved $150.00 to boot. So dont give up on trying! :goodvibes

That's what happened to me.. All day yesterday there were no rooms available at CR for the time I wanted so no discount could be applied to my existing reserv. So I tried again online last nite after midnight and there was now a room available!!! Now I have mine done by a TA so I couldn't do anything about it at that time. In the morning I left a voicemail and a fax for my TA to see when she got in. Well she called and got the discount applied to my existing reservations at CR in Nov.! So someone had cancelled their reserv. for this opening to appear. And an hour after I got my discount, I got online again to see if still available and sure enough no rooms at CR.

Now I'm wondering if they put rooms that have been cancelled back into the system later in the evening - after they close down for the night???

So all of you out there who have reserv. but weren't able to get a discount applied to it because of resort being booked up, don't give up hope. Reserv. might be cancelled and open up a discount. Just keep checking.

I remember someone writing before Thursday that with the rumor of the discount coming up, Disney was getting a lot of calls by people making reserv. to lock in a room and then to wait and see if the discount was a Big one. So the discount is nice but I wouldn't call it a big one so maybe some of these people will be cancelling now. Ummm? :confused3

"Now I'm wondering if they put rooms that have been cancelled back into the system later in the evening - after they close down for the night??? "

I was told by the CM that any reservations that are canceled on any day are not put back in the system until the following morning.

Someone just told me that last year a CM told them that all cancellations and reservations that are cancelled for lack of a deposit, released from convention holds, etc are placed back in inventory at midnight and the phone lines are closed then.

I hope someone cancels a woods view reservation at WL for my dates. I had to go up to a courtyard view to get any discount and since the room cost more it only gave me 88 back. I would really rather have the woods view and especially if it means another few hundred dollars in my pocket to spend. My TA said she'd keep checking for me to see if a woods view becomes available but I'm not holding out much hope since my final payment is due Monday that anyone is going to cancel before then.

We have a Grand Gathering for a 3 night/4 day trip for a Girls Getaway Weekend planned for early December. We were originally planning to do CBR but with the code we were switched to CSR. The change saved us $268. It's not a ton but it is enough to justify the Hoop Dee Doo that we wanted.

AND, I've never stayed at Coronado... looking forward to trying it out!

I just wished that I could have justified a room at the WL, would have been AWESOME! Ah well, I'll keep checking...
