2 years ago, the meal we had at the Flying Fish was probably the best we'ed had at WDW in 10 years of going almost every year. So our anticipation, and expectation was very high going this year, just this past Friday night. The service was OK, with the exception that they forgot the suprise birthday cake my wife had ordered for my 12 yr old daughter the week before we left. After a 30 minutes wait the suprise was gone, though they corrected the oversight. The Bread was very hard and over cooked and more like toast. The Fish, both my wife and I had the Sabel Fish (never heard of it, but the waiter said that it was fabulous) He did say, however that it was not as firm as a grouper, but the taste was great. What an understatement. Very slimmy, and almost no texture at all. The taste was very good, but we like a fish that has a little bit of firmness. Every thing else was good, (crab cake and Blue cheese salad, but I wouldn't have charactorized them as great). Overall out of 10, I would have given it a high 7.
