disappointed in Camp Rock

My DD and I really liked it. the only thing I didn't like was that there needed to be an ending with Tess and her Mom.

In the book (Bought it at Target for about $5.00) there is a happy ending with Tess and her Mom. (According to DD.)

I watched the first 5 minutes and then was busy around the house. My kids- dd9 and ds7- loved it. But, my nieces, 15 and 12, really did not like it. I told my niece 15 that maybe she was getting too 'old' for those movies and she said no, she and her bff loved HSM and HSM2- but both did not like CR. I do agree though, at least it is a clean movie without all the profanity and bad examples in it.

I thought the movie wasn't great, but I wasn't expecting it to be either. It was a pretty typical Disney's tv movies where there is a mean girl who becomes nice at the end and someone has a crush etc. The acting wasn't stellar (esp. JoBros) but DD9 enjoyed it. I am glad though that there is not offensive material/language and we can watch it together.

Im 18 and I got stuck watching it while babysitting (3 girls ages 4, 7 adn 9) but about 20 ins through they were bored wiht it adn wanted to go watch their HM dvds instead....

Personally, im gald they didnt like it.....i cant stand the Jonas Brothers at all so i was glad that I didnt have to pretend to like it....i would much rather watch HSM and HM with them

This is from my DD(8) "that girl cant sing". DS(10) "TERRIBLE" DD loves JONAS BROTHERS but the movie stunk.

Honestly, it has a great message and has respectable role models - I don't care whether it was good or not as long as it continues to portray a good message that my children are receptive to!

I only got to watch the end of it...I had to watch Shawn Johnson kick hiney at the Olympic Trials on tv! Woot! My husband watched it with the girls. lol. My dd's 6 and 11 thought it was good, but haven't really seemed that interested in it since. Unlike HSM where they bugged me for weeks about getting it on dvd. It makes my dd 6 mad that the "mean girls" always have blonde hair like her.

I thought it was cute and loved that it was not nearly as cheesy as the HSM movies. I find it rather amusing that everyone is saying that the Camp Rock kids can't act because the stars of HSM can't either BUT these movies are made for children who can't/don't judge acting ability. But they are both cute and harmless entertainment for the whole family.
