Am I the only one who was disappointed in CR? The acting was horrible. My kids still loved it though.

I didn't think it was very good. DD8 can't wait to watch it again though.

I didn't like it either and there is just something about Demi Lavoto that bugs me. Unfortunately, my youngest DS hasn't seen it yet so I am going to be forced to sit through it again. Give me strength! :lmao:

I lost interest pretty quick but sat through with my 3 DD's. They LOVED it! It was cheesy but I would allow them to watch it without me. We had a great talk about telling the truth afterwards!!:cool1:

Considering all the hype, I was disappointed too. No where near as entertaining as HSM. My DD enjoyed it. Overall, a nice story for the little ones with some musically talented kids.

Well my kids have watched it over and over and can't seem to get enough. We can get it on "On Demand" so they actually first watched it several days before the real premier, and they can watch it again whenever they want (well as much as I let them watch TV anyway). Its about the only thing they've had on in the last week.

I didn't expect to like it so I wasn't disappointed. I don't think I was thier target demographic. My DD12 has watched it 3 times and talked and texted non-stop with her friends regarding it. Based on that I'd say it was a hit with it's target audience.

I'm not a fan of HSM either and I don't think it's hindered the franchise any. I never watched that one until DD was cast in a local production of it this Spring.

I thought it was pretty typical for a pre-teen aimed movie.

My dd 13 loved it, but I have heard not so great reviews about it too. I hope Wall-e is good and not just another hyped up movie!

I watched it and really was disappointed. It was not up to Disney standards. I thought that Demi was good but was disappointed in the acting quality of the Jonas brothers and the others....Maybe it Kenny Ortega (director of HSM) had done it maybe it would have been better. I thought the music wasn't great either.
My DD and DS haven't watched it yet. But its not along their lines- I can see them not watching it for very long and playing a video or DVD instead.
Mulan

I watched it with dd and I thought it was just Okay, no way as good as HSM. MY dd loved it though so I guess Disney didn't disappoint the ones they were targeting.

I had the same feeling. I just wasn't sure if it was the acting or the character. My daughter saw the ad for the interactive internet game and thought that was a lot more interesting than the movie :)

I didn't care for it as much as HSM or Jump In. My DD's enjoyed it and already knew some of the music. It was a nice movie with no offensive language or sexual content. I am always happy about that. Afterward i had a conversation with my girls about other girls and jealousy, how a real friend should treat you and being honest about who you are. This was a good example for them to see those concepts.
I am actually more excited to see "Picture this" with Ashley Tisdale. They are advertising that movie like crazy.

That is a very good point. I will have to agree with you on that aspect-

I'm going to be the odd one out and say I like it. My husband liked it too. You can't look at it as some big blockbuster movie. It is made for tv. They made such a big hype about it only because of The Jonas Brothers being in it.

My son 8 loves it and wants to watch it again every day. I personally have the songs stuck in my head and I think they are fun.

:woohoo:

Will I sit down adn watch it again? Yep ::yes::

I didn't like it as much as HSM, but my dauther loved it. And some of the music was a little catchy...

We've already watched it a couple of times now...

I loved it!! Me and my sister noticed how in the whole movie Demi was the only one not lip singing. Also the end of the movie wasnt very good. they needed a few more minutes at the end.

But Camp Rock was targeting more of the older kids like 13 years olds and up. High School Musical is more for younger kids.

I have watched it 19 times and still am not tired of it.

My 10 year old didn't even want to watch it. Her friends didn't either- so I am guessing maybe it was geared towards older? or very much younger? but to the tween crowd it was uncool around here.
