Disappointed - back from POR

POR has the most awful bus service ever! I had the same problems in August and it was horrible.

We stayed 11/11-11/15 and the morning of EPCOT EMH, we saw several buses come and go (at the resort bus top) for other parks before one came for EPCOT. It was ridiculous. And when the bus finally came, there were TWO ecv's to be loaded and at least another 1/2 hour of waiting because the driver of the ecv did not know how to negotiate reversing up the ramp. SO MUCH FOR EMH!!!!!:sad2:

This is another example of why I keep an extra $20 in my purse. If I need/want to be somewhere fast and the bus service is bogging down, I can go grab a cab. I know, I know, you shouldn't have to, but for me when I am in a hurry, it is money well spent.

I am always kind of shocked at the amount of threads bashing PORs bus service. Not that there is one, but why does this resort get most of them? We have found that the deluxe resorts have much worse bus transportation!

So true. Even after Illuminations we will take a cab rather than fight for the buses. Much easier.

We were at POR in Sept. (13-23), and the buses at that time were horrible. As for the resort, we though it was wonderful with the food court, the # of pools and the boat to DTD. But the Bus system is like I said horrible. Because of the bus system they have we decided to never stay at POR again. Yes some of the things at POR are nice but what sells you is the whole package.
It's not enjoyable having to stand on buses to and from resorts everyday. Also it's not easy trying to stand with a stroller and holding up a 2 1/2 year old child. I saw so many children having to stand on buses that it made me sick to watch grown adults not willing to give up their seat and watch a child in front of them fall due to the bus in motion. People in my case are just selfish and rude. I with WDW had a policy that all children at least under 5 years needed to have a seat. Sorry got off on that subject.

.

I agree with kids having to stand while adults sit. This ticks me off to no end.

I see many elderly standing at times when people won't get off of their lazy butts to offer their seats. I really get hot when I see grown man and young men not offering their seats.

Disney should not need a policy on any of this. It should just be good manners.

I had mentioned on this board once that we got on the bus and where kind of stuck in the middle and couldn't get off. My wife was holding our daughter who was only a couple of months old at the time. An elderly woman got up and loudly told my wife to have her seat and she was disappointed no of the men on the bus had not gotten up. There was a man with his 16 year old looking son who was in ear shot. I loudly agreed with her and mentioned how pathetic some men are. They wouldn't even make eye contact with me.

There will be those who disagree with this (many have done so on this topic in the past). There are those who cannot offer up seats due to health conditions and such, but I think these are the exceptions to the rule. There are those who say they should get off and wait for the next bus. I say get off you rear end and show some manners.

Sorry for the off topic rant.

Sometimes I believe chivalry is dead these days.

The bus system does sometimes bite, but I will say POR (Dixie Landings for us old timers) is one of the most beautiful resorts at Disney IMHO.

Our family has gone to POR for seven years in a row and we absolutley love it there. We also have never had any problem with the busses. Sorry you had a bad time.

We always rent a car for this purpose and this purpose alone. It is worth the money to drive yourself instead of Disney Transportation.

There sure is, and this one was not ours, haha! I have stayed at CSR twice and CBR and never had this problem. It was not a busy week so I don't know why this kept happening...there were MANY angry people in line, too which was making it tense. I didn't think the property was exciting enough for me to return anyways, and the bus issue just solidified it. I will continue to stay at CSR, I have always had great transportation luck there.
Me too!
