Disappointed After Return From Afghanistan

After returning from Afghanistan I was extremely disappointed to find that my family due to not being registered at the Disney Resort was not allowed to ride anymore rides after 9pm when the park was still open for 2 more hours. We talked to the management but they were uncooperative towards letting us ride even one more ride. I reminded them that it is not written anywhere that we could not ride rides while the park was open but they insisted it was a perk for resort guest after hours. I told them this was biased towards anyone who did not stay at a Disney Resort including all Florida residents of which I am one. A Florida resident does not buy get a hotel room when we live right here. Furthermore any guest from out of state that does not stay at the Disney resort cannot ride a ride after 9pm. Now when you get to the park it takes at least an entire day to try and see everything and in the summer time with lines being very long even the fast pass cannot get you thru all the lines for rides. My kids were disappointed and so was I. I was looking toward a funfilled day but it ended with us being disappointed in Disney when others just because they were Disney resort guest were still having fun. I must return to Afghanistan for anther 3 months prior to returning home again for 11 days but I will in the future go to a park that treats military members right with discounts etc. which Disney does not do.

Sorry you were felt you did not get what you deserve but, Extra magic hours are a perk for staying at a Disney resort. THey are done After the posted closing time. Military members do get several perks at WDW such as discounted tickets and rooms.

Yeah I realize military do get some perks and staying at the resort should give you some perks but it gets you upset when its not posted anywhere and you buy tickets out in town instead of at the main gate, which most Florida residents do to save a few more bucks. Well we went home a little disappointed but overall we had a good time.

In 2003 my family went to WDW very cheaply due to my DH being AD. So I think WDW does offer great military discounts.
Maybe next time pamper yourself a liitle and stay a night at SOG.

EMH are a perk given solely to individuals who stay on Disney property. The parks close at stated hours, which are posted in the parks and on line at Disney.com. The park was not technically open past the stated park hours, you should consider EMH a special event solely for on-property guests. Disney does frequently have special events in the park after hours, such as weddings and corporate events, which are also not open to the general public. For the record Disney DOES offer many perks to military members, for starters it offers discounted tickets, but also as a military member you are entitled to stay at Shades of Green. SoG is a hotel on Disney property solely available to members of the US military. It has a competative pricing index that is directly related to pay-scale, and is in many cases, much cheaper than even off property hotels. If you chose to take advantage of Shades of Green, you would have been allowed to go to the EMH, just like any on-property guest, except you would only be paying a fraction of the cost for your hotel room. If Shades of Green is booked to capacity, they are able to book you at other on-property resorts at a substantial discount. Please do not be angry at Disney for not doing your homework. Hopefully when you return to Disney you will be armed with a little more information, and be able to use your military status to your best advantage.

It is posted on the Disney website and others as well. And there many perks that the disney resorts offer that SOG don't. I'm sorry u had a bad time. We are Army and I won't stay at SOG cause of the perks the others have.
