There are room only discounts out....does anybody still need a room?

do tell!!! i've reserved a room for me and erin off-site (just so we'll have it in case something happens - we can always cancel 48 hours out with a full refund) and i'm waiting to hear from tara as to whether or not they will have room. i think she finds out when she gets back from WDW. but i may be interested in a value room if it's discounted. i was thinking about it this morning and it would be SOOOOO much easier to stay on-site because of having to pay for parking, etc. plus i'm thinking we might want to use the EMH at MK on sunday night if we're not too pooped. so i'm hoping for the room at OKW with tara and sparkie, but if not i may be interested in a discounted room. what's the low-down? ;)

Here's the low down. I got this from the DIS. Just click on Resorts on the tool bar at the top. Have you considered an AP? It would qualify you for DDE too I think. Aren't you and Ray going back with the next year?

Discount codes must be thought of as a "clearance sale" -- if you want the discount, you have to be willing to take what's left over! It's important to be flexible with both dates and hotels, and to be persistent in calling back periodically to see if anything has opened up.

To reserve a room with the discount, call the Disney Reservations Center at (407) W-DISNEY or contact a travel agent who specializes in Disney travel, and request the specific offer code.

i needed a break from typing so i did some research on the AP. right now, the total for just *my* park tickets for the september trip and the april 2008 trip is $492.50 (and i realize that will go up a little when they most likely will increase prices for next year). i looked up the price of an AP and it's $559. so i'd be spending more for the AP and more for the discounted hotel rate at $64 a night compared to the hotel we booked at like $40 a night or $0 a night to stay with tara. so nevermind! thanks for letting us know about the discount though! now i'm just keeping my fingers crossed that we'll get to stay with tara and sparkie!!! (i always feel bad saying that because i know that means someone else won't be going!)

Are you sure the AP is that much? I get $100 off the reg. price with DVC so I paid $350, including tax. So that should make yours about $450 with tax included???

punkin - that's for a premium pass - with water parks, pleasure island and disneyquest.
If you just want the parks, the price is 462.21 (that includes tax). And if you buy before their normal increases, you'll save even more (buying an unactivated pass).

oh, i see!!!!! thanks for clearing that up. ray and i are planning on hitting PI and DQ when we go in april, but i guess i could just by myself individual passes for that and him a PH w/ water park fun n more option. i'm off to do more disney math!

me and erin sat down last night and made our plans for the september trip. here's our itinerary. if anyone will be anywhere at the same time as us, let me know!

friday, september 21st
-arrive around midnight and check in at OKW with eventer and sparkie!

saturday, september 22nd
-breakfast at kona cafe at 8:00
-MK all day (probably lunch at casey's)
-dinner at crystal palace we think at 4:30 - this is the only time i could get dinner! i'm gonna keep calling back to see if i can get a later time.

sunday, september 23rd
-breakfast probably either in the room or goods to go at OKW
-MGM all day
-lunch at '50's prime time cafe at 11:30
-break in the afternoon
-dinner at 'ohana's with the peeps at 5:00! :woohoo:
-go back to MGM for fantasmic
-maybe go to MK for EMH

monday, september 24th
-breakfast either in the room or at goods to go at OKW
-AK until somewhere around 12:00-1:00 (may arrive early since AK has morning EMH that day - we'll see how tired we are!)
-lunch at flame tree BBQ
-leave AK and head home.....:sad1:

so that's that. i'm so glad we've got it all planned. i already made our ADRs for kona cafe, '50's prime time cafe and CP, although i'm hoping to get a different time for CP. yay!:yay:

aries- i had told you before that we were both NOT on the DDP. well, we changed our minds and now we are. i don't think that matters when you make the reservation, especially since so many people will be there and probably doing different things. anyway, just wanted to let you know of the change in case it did make a difference. ;)

What? No Epcot? What did you decide to do on the tickets? Looks like 3 days of straight MYW?

actually, we talked about it and she wasn't really interested. we decided we'd go over there on our MK day via monorail if we have time and depending on the crowds. i left it totally up to her since this is her birthday trip!

she's getting a 3-day park hopper and i'm getting an AP since i'll be going back in april. and we are paying for the DDP. we couldn't have gotten the free dining offer anyway since we're staying with tara at OKW. i was gonna pay OOP for food, but then tara said she thought they would make us all have the same dining package. so that means we'd have to have 4 days of the DDP. i figured out that we'd both be bringing about $125 for food (which totals $250) and that the dining plan is about $310 for the both of us for 4 days, that's only $60 difference. if we decided to stay off-site then you add the $140 hotel to that and we'd be saving money by staying with tara for free and buying the DDP for 4 days - plus we'd be eating like kings the whole time because we'd have a 4-day dining plan in 2 and a half days! confused yet?

Yes. But now it makes sense that you have more TS ADRs than you do days. Bravo!

OK Peeps! I need to know who is still planning on going to the Peep meet in January. Could I get a roll call please?

I need to take stock of our plans and make a decision soon. The Peep meet for the marathon weekend is the weekend following my birthday weekend, and I am very excited about the possibility of seeing some Peeps then. However, we MIGHT have the chance to go the weekend of my birthday to DISNEYLAND! :cool1: That would mean no WDW the next weekend though. :sad2: This is a difficult decision! DH and I have never been to Disneyland, and it would be my birthday weekend. However, it would most definitely be more expensive, and I would miss the Peep meet the next weekend. Ugh! We aren't sure we can even book for January at Disneyland yet, but we haven't called - just checked it out online. I don't want to get too far into the process before we know more. It would really help if I knew how many Peeps were still planning on attending in January. I know Sandy is. (Of course, Sandy, you know I'll see you multiple times before January. ;)) But I don't know who else is.

Hey, I resemble that remark!!

Lynda it does seem as if the big 5K Peep meet disolved into 2 camps - those that are doing FREE dining - and those that can do both -

We're all paid for the half, the full, and we got IN at BCV (just a studio) I will say if you dont have ressies for that weekend, it may be too late - so if anyone is thinking about it - call NOW and take a 24 hour to think - or discover there are no rooms at the inn! (resort ;) )

Lynda - its your bday weekend, I'd love to do Disneyland - you work hard - I know your dh will make the flight A-OK - just pack that pixie dust!! :wizard:

Attention all those who are attending the Peep Meet!! Its about that time for me to get our shirts....

heres the LOGO.. let me know what you think or suggest anything else you might wanna see they will be going for print in one week....
