Good morning everyone ~
Happy to report it is a lovely HOT day here in Southeastern New England, the sun is shining in my spirits are up :) Despite being quite naughty with the eating the past few days ( my birthday just kept being celebrated i think...:rolleyes1 ) I actually managed to get my butt out there and finally start a walking program again..so i don't feel as down in the dumps as I would if i just ate like i did and didn't move..so hey, its a start towards that positive thinking i want to do.

Shannon....:goodvibes :goodvibes so happy about your date!!! and good luck with mr. dentist today..just think happy thoughts and you will be outta there before you know it!

You know what i've been thinking? I have never posted any pics on this board ... maybe i should do that so you can put a face to a name, i know it helps me anyway. I shall check out photobucket tonight then.

have a good one everybody!

I wish I was 5'10"... but, alas I am not. I'm currently 5'7"... I say currently, because in high school I was 5'8". I was shocked a couple of months ago when I found out I had shrunk an inch... I attribute it to carrying almost 200 extra pounds around for 20 years. CAN'T be good for the spine (or anything else)!

The more I think about it, the more I'm going to aim for 150 PRE-tummy tuck. As of this morning, that is 73.2 more lbs. Wish it was still coming off fast; but considering we ate pizza 3 times last week and AF has been here 2 weeks and counting, I'm happy I'm losing at all.

I am also 5'7". I am not certain what my goal weight is until I get there, but I'm shooting for about 160. I don't think I have weighed that much in my adult life. I know I have been 170, but I have not seen 160 on a scale since I don't remember when. That should put me in a size 12, I think. I would be thrilled with that. I guess I will see when I get there. That's about 62 more pounds for me. I'll have to go back and look at your post again when I get home because I can't see pics here at work. :rolleyes1

Lynda - how come no report on the AKV? Didnt you come up to Woodfield Mall to check them out? How are you feeling? Are you still trying to 'figure' things out? Hope things are going great!! Are you still taking dog classes? Are you entering in competitions yet? and are you planning a DisneyLAND bday trip?

AKV models don't open until August Sandy! :) (We did go to Great America about a week ago, but not Woodfield.) We are coming up on the night of August 4th and will be going to Woodfield on the 5th. I sent you a PM about meeting up. Are you available? I still need to make an appointment with my doctor to get my Prilosec prescription renewed. I've been so busy lately, and I just haven't done it yet. I am back on Prilosec - just paying full price for it. We are still taking Jasper to agility every week on Tuesdays. She is getting better at it, but she is not off lead yet. We are getting there though. I don't know if we'll enter her into competition or not. I guess it will depend on how good she is when she gets good. She is a beagle, which means stubborn, so we don't know for sure if she'll ever be competition agility material, but she is doing really well! And I don't know if we are going to Disneyland yet. Josh's next comission check should give us an idea. ;) I hope we will be doing so soon! But if not, we will be coming to the January Peep meet, so either way, we're going to Disney. :)

OK--the second week of June Joshua broke my glasses so I went and got some new ones. Well about 1.5 weeks ago he climbed up and got those and was opening them and broke an arm/leg whatever you call it off. Took them back to the store--they had one it would cost x amount and could be picked up in one week. That would have been on Friday. I did not have time to go by and Saturday the weather was so bad we did not venture out of the house. I got a call last night-- a week and 2 days after I ordered the part and was told they did not have it and they would not be getting any in. I was kind of irked and said--you mean to tell me it has taken this long just to find out you don't have it after I was supposed to pick it up 2 days ago. I only bought the glasses a month ago---she responded yep that is is basically it. Now I did not buy a warrenty b/c DH said not to---now I am out almost an additional 300--since most likely the new lenses will not fit in the new frames I am going to have to get.
That stinks!!!! What would they have said if you came in there to get them friday?!

We have exactly the same goal...I am 5'7 and want to weigh about 160-170. I never remember weighing less as an adult, so I know I would be thrilled with that number. I had about 35 pounds to go....until I went and got myself pregnant!

I am 5'7-5'8 and my goal weight is 145-150. At that weight I am a size 8/10. 127 would definitely be too low for me, imo.

Here is ~145 if it gives you any indication. This pic is about 5 yrs old and bad, but you can get the idea. I was in about a size 8 here.

Hi!

I am new to the the board, and came across this thread, and was wondering if you guys mind if I joined you in your quest for weight loss.
My name is Jennifer, and I am a SAHM - previous social worker, and married of 13yrs (in Dec) to a wonderful man that has been in the military for the past 16 yrs. He flies medevac helicopters for the Army. We have 3 beautiful children Parker 7, who we adopted from the Ukraine at age 2, Ethan 4 and the child that we were told we would never have biologically, and Sarabeth turns 2 on Tues (bio also).

My Weight Story:
After High School (during college) I started to struggle with my weight big time. I gained about 150 lbs during those 4 yrs of college. I was married in my 4th yr and after about 5 yrs of marriage and yo yo weight issues, I was finally diagnosed with PCOS. Which causes weight gain and infertility (and other hormonal side effects) Anyway, We did all the fertility treatments, you name it, I did it - no luck. After the adoption of our Parker - I found out I was 3 months pregnant - possibly due to about a 15% weight loss while in the Ukraine (lots of walking and living on the 10th floor of a building with NO ELEVATOR for almost 2 months- we are sooo lucky here in the U.S.) Well, after the birth of my son, I weighed a whopping 264 lbs at 5'2" and that was not my highest weight. The next year or so I lost around 130lbs. To weigh in at 132 lbs. and got pregnant with our daughter. At that time I was walking 5 miles a day, NO SODA, no refined sugar at all, no starches, I was at 80 grams of protein a day and no more that 20 grams of carbs per day. I drank 8 glasses of water a day, and I did allow myself to use Splenda. I also did not eat fruit due to conversion of sugar in my PCOS body (I do not use glucose properly, therefore sugar just runs wild in my body).

Anyway, due to pregnancy, I had to add some of these foods back into my body, especially carbs. My daughter was born at 30 1/2 weeks and we were due to move from Alabama to Alaska in 4 weeks. I was stressed but ok. Then the army says ..... there is NO WAY you are going to Alaska with a preemie....so they reroute us to Ft Campbell, KY.....where guess what.....he deployed almost immediately to Iraq...... So, here I was with 3 small children, one on a heart monitor. I could not walk with her, due to her loss of body heat when taken out.... and she could not ride in a jogger. Anyway needless to say I gained 30 lbs while he was away that yr. THAT I am trying to get off for DISNEY.....well at least 15 for Disney in Sept.(10 more to go by them and the rest by Christmas. DH is set to deploy again right after Christmas, but I am in a much better place this time around, and will be having a tummy tuck and girly lift, while he is gone....YEAH!!!!

Well, thanks for listening and your support... can't wait to share and enjoy this board!!!!

Good Luck to all of you!!!!

Also..someone might try and make you post a pic of yourself in a swimsuit...so be warned!!! :rolleyes1

:welcome: This is a wonderful place to find encouragement and advice! I'm fairly new myself. Chime in lots!

I'd be interested in hearing what a typical daily menu was for you on the diet that you outlined above. I too have to watch sugar (both refined and natural) or my body starts to go nuts -- no formal diagnosis of PCOS or diabetes but I was certainly on my way to diabetes and fit all the symptoms of PCOS... :sad2:

now I am out almost an additional 300--since most likely the new lenses will not fit in the new frames I am going to have to get.

 :flower3:

I got fitted at Lane Bryants, and the saleswoman begged me to try it out... I did, and I'm shocked at how I love that bra - under TSHIRTS!!!

I  my Lane Bryant bras... even like them better than the Victoria Secret one I tried on.

I'll have to go back and look at your post again when I get home because I can't see pics here at work. :rolleyes1

I used to DIS while at school (lunch & conference)... then the darn filter program started blocking it.

I had about 35 pounds to go....until I went and got myself pregnant!

:lmao: I had a friend during college, Melissa. She'd gain a lot of weight with each baby (had 4 last time I heard). After a year or so, she'd lose all the weight... and get pregnant again! :rotfl2: Ever since then, I've associated losing a lot of weight with getting pregnant.

That helps give me some perspective... you and I are both kind of jocks in our own way, so our build would probably be similar. The sizes are kind of flooring me though... 25 years ago, when my basketball/soccer playing self ran 140-155 during the season, I wore like 11s & 13s. Have sizes shifted that much? I had been thinking that 28s kept getting bigger... maybe everything did. Wooo Hoooty if they did! I'd  to wear single digit sizes!

Welcome! And SEEEEEEE!?!?! I told y'all! Losing weight leads to getting pregnant! :thumbsup2

Also..someone might try and make you post a pic of yourself in a swimsuit...so be warned!!! :rolleyes1

I posted one! (It was a virtual model... but still!)

Welcome PilotWife!!! This is a great place to get encouragement, accountability, and a few laughs! Enjoy! :)

Welcome pilotwife!!

Yup, dene, I am sort of a jock. I have more pics at different weights that I can post later, or email them privately if people here don't want to see them.

Now, I am about to switch machines, so I will likely be offline until tonight (unless I can remember my DIS password!). Have a great and skinny day!

Welcome Pilots Wife- First off let me say a heartfelt Thanks and God Bless you for your Hubby's service and for your sacrifices made at home...you are true heros....

Now despite what these others will tell you you will need to post that bathing suit pic...we've all done it :rolleyes1

Thanks for joining we need some fresh meat around here!

UM so i need to clarify:flower3: I did not weigh in Friday - I have stayed the same for quite some time now, but I have really beefed up the numbers ont he weights and my body is changing...so i dunno if i will ever hit the 160's but i feel loads better than i have felt in a long time, i might try to get strict one more time with south beach (i think thats gonna be the only thing that will work with me) then i will accept this body and love it the way it is...even if its a little larger than i would like. i can move better, my clothes fit better. i can exercise and i feel strong. thats really what i want to concentrate on right now. but i guess for posterity (or posterior) :lmao: sake i could post my scale numbers (that lying beach)

Wonders! OMG I can't wait for hte second date!

okay peeps i am stealth posting at workso i'll checkin with the latest hottie report from the gym...UTAHMAMA!!!! OMG Ranger works out at my gym i may have to sneak a camera in and snag a mug of him and see if you agree!

later peeps!:hippie:

Popping in again - I'm at the lake, my parents cottage - so I dont have all my 'stuff' here, and sharing a computer, and space around here... so forgive me for my mistakes!!

WELCOME WELCOME NEWBIES

:cool1: Truly this is YOUR place - you make what you want, you take what you need, and you give what you can!! The more you post, the faster you get to know posters... ( :rolleyes1 or make a cheat sheet!! ) and then you are part of a community...

I think the hardest part for me with this journey is I whine. I have no one to share stuff with... so that's what I take from here... I'd rather post then eat... of course sometimes I eat while I'm here (I have a yogurt smoothie right now!! 3 snack!)

Forgot what I wanted to say...

I went to town to find snail mail for DD... and an antique store was going out of business so I bought 10 postcards - and mailed 'em!! :rotfl2: Some had a drawing of George Washington's home, Jeffersons home, Wisconsin Dells (which is 2 hours from our house - I hope to go there for dd spring break!!) Any way, she is going to lol when she sees what I've done now!!

I think I'll go jump on the jet ski!!

Hi Jennifer! You have quite an amazing story! Very inspiring!

Well I am pretty bummed with myself and my diet right now... Monday is my WI day for WW and I am back up a few pounds from my WI Friday! I knew it was too good to be true. I should have been better over the weekend. SO HARD~! Anyway, I still lost 1.5 over the week which is better than gaining. Just have to keep at it. It's difficult right now for me (I know, I know, it ALWAYS is) to not stress eat. My DH is going to see a specialist in Chicago Wed. for an eye tumor. Hopefully, after we get over that road bump, I can concentrate a little more. I really need to MAKE myself work out on the weekends too. I do really well during the week, 30 min a day with one rest day usually. I SHOULD have MORE time on the weekends (and I do) but I get lazy and make up excuses. Anyone have a solution for this?

Ok, gotta get back to work. Oh, and what is this about a bathing suit picture? You have got to be kidding?? People actually allow themselves to be photographed this way?

Just did my emergency eating of a LF string cheese stick before going to the supermarket..i have found grocery shopping whilst hungry very un-Martha Stewartish a.k.a. "NOT a good thing." Does she even say that " its a good thing" stuff anymore...hmmm :sad2:
