-1!

I just got back from NYC last night (~10) -- what am I doing at work! NYC was great -- we had a blast! I am so glad that I decided to really try and lose wt before I left on Tuesday -- I actually managed to keep a pound of the two I lost before I left off -- so no gain for me   ... I'm fully back on the peep wagon today and going for a two lb loss next week!

I won't post my weight till later. Apparently, there's a 6" SUB sandwich in my gut from 1:00 IN THE MORNING making my number NOT pretty!!!!! I think it weighed a good 3 pounds!!!! WHO eats a 6" sub at 1:00 in the morning on weigh day?????????????????

Don't feel bad, I had 2 slices of pizza a 10 last night -- can feel them sitting in my gut this morning (add that to the bagel and all those yummy tea sandwiches from earlier yesterday and I have a gut full of carbs!)

Congrats to the losers and the samers!

Finally able to get into the bathroom to weigh. Despite my bad pre-weigh on weds...I am DOWN 1.4! :cloud9: I am exactly .6 away from my skinniest adult weight I can remember. :yay: :woohoo: I lot about 40ish pounds a few yrs back and I am so close to that weight. I pretty much stopped weighing myself when I hit 175 and then boom.....all of a sudden I gained a TON of weight. I went to the dr for something and they weighed me and I was convinced it was their scale. So I promptly went out and got a new one. NOPE. They were right!

OK, since you asked...here is the front of the dress:

And a close up of the top-she will kill me or sharing this because she was making a weird face and hates it ;) I think my $180 investment entitles me to a photo release!

OK, just have to post my weigh in info. Not much time today. I am gonna be BUSY at work, and then DH and I are taking Jasper out to the fair tonight. So I won't be being very Peep-like tonight. This is my one night to have fair food. I was there Wednesday night, and I didn't eat anything! So, tonight is my night.

I am down 3.4 this week. Total loss of 27.8, so I get back my 25-lb ribbon...as soon as I have time to change it! Have a great day Peeps! :)

Any room for a new girl? I just weighed this morning and I need to lose 61 lbs.

Stayed the Same!!! :headache: Sorry I have'nt been on much lately. We leave next weekend for 6 days and I've been busy getting everything ready for the trip. We're going to Pigeon Forge and staying thru the 4th of July holiday.
Melinda- I'll be going through Lexington and will be thinking of you. Our first stop will be in New Haven at the KY Railroad Museum to see Thomas the Tank Engine. It's our big surprise for our boys. They know that we are going to TN but have no idea that they will be taking a ride on Thomas. My youngest son is the Thomas fan and I've made him a gift pack with everything Thomas including a Thomas diecast, coloring book, reading book,
2 tee-shirts, & stickers.

WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME:cool1:

Just jump right in!! Take what you need, add advice when you can - the more you share, the more you get out of it... at least I think so...

BEE Thinking of you!!

Dene miss your posts too!

Umathreadmama confessions good for the soul - I had 1/2 enchilada, and a tostada (both homemade... but not very alli friendly! ) at 6pm... it was the bowl of cheeto's at 9pm that did me in!

ARE Y'ALL SUCKIN???

Do we need an EXERCISE CHALLENGE

Ok - its the weekend, I've for sure fallen off the wagon.... I pledge to do 100 ab crunches each day - and report on Monday... 100 side widdlers... and 100 back arm raises...

who's with me?
Just remember the quote from Bob Greene on Oprah:

"IF you dont commit to the exercise then you DONT want to lose weight"

Attention Experts!

I'm trying to schedule our park days & such and wanted to know how many times should I plan to visit each park. (for example- I don't want to have too many days planned for MGM and not enough at AK.) We will be there 11 days & this is what I have so far:

Day 1: Arrive in the afternoon, check-in, & go to MK
Day 2: Morning- DTD (to buy candy to send home to family for Christmas)
Evening- MVMCP
Day 11: Morning- MK before heading home

Each day we plan to visit a park in the morning, eat lunch around 11, go back to the room and rest before getting ready to leave around 5 each evening & then we will go to a park for a little while before calling it a day

I guess what I'm basically wanting to know is where you (if you had to choose) would spend your evenings at, and I'm guessing that it would be mostly Epcot or MK.

Sorry to confuse any of you. :confused3 I'm so stressed right now trying to get days scheduled so that I can make our ADRs. We are 176 days out now.

I gained 0.2 pounds! Oh no! But I'm pretending it's just pooh: .

my2boys - I think two days in each park would be plenty. Be sure to schedule at least two days for NOTHING! That way you can take it easy.
Unless you have lots of ADRs, it might be better to know what the crowd level and hours for each park are for each day and let the boys help decide where to go on a particular day.
I like to do all four parks in the first 4 days then have the rest of the time not as strictly planned for spontanaity (I can't spell that word!)
But this year will be my first trip with kids, so you might want to ask for someone else's advice too.

I'm definitely planning on the napping strategy - I see too many tired parents and kids yelling at each other in the afternoons.

And I had the most fun in May just sitting and waiting for spectromagic and the fireworks -
We spent from 7 pm until 10 pm just sitting in the street. We befriended two different families (one was a grandmother with all her kids and grandkids! They were a bunch of fun) and sat and watched them play games with the cast members.
They played limbo, tried to hula hoop, etc.
It's so funny that the most fun we had could've happened anywhere for free - but Disney magic makes it better!

I am -1.4. Man, I found 1.6 lbs somewhere between my Sunday weigh-in and now. pooh: .

I have to admit I am getting a wee bit discouraged lately... I need to get over my expectation of losing 3-4 lbs a week and be happy w/ my 1-2 lb loss. I have been doing really well, staying at my calorie limit, working out 4- 5 times a week, and have lost about 10 lbs since returning from WDW at the end of May... so BOOT me in the butt someone.

Tomorrow is a planned cheat day. I think I really need the day off to re-commit me to hard-core dieting... we planned this a month ago.

Cute! Love the picture and the ticklin' super heros! Your sister's got a coupla inches on you, Dawn. That'll be us with all the tall peeps at the meet. Wendy & Sandy are quite tall!

That sounds like fun! How far a drive from Durham?

It is about an 8.5-9 hour drive to WDW from here. Do-able for a long weekend.

Count me in the tall group, I am 5'8. Also count me in the group that thinks punkin looks awesome!

I am sorry I am stomping my feet and stubbing my toes in the corner. I know it just takes a diiferent view of things and some positive action on my part sadly I am doing either.

GOYA I really need to get off my **** and stop this mode of destructive thinking.

I jsut want to be able to do what I want to do hmmmm I think tho sounds like a 4 yo better move a muscle and change a thought today.

OK I think I have whinned way too much way too long !!! Happy Firday!

You are at to the one place where we DO understand how much of a struggle it is to take and keep weight off. It isn't whining, it's venting!!

Any room for a new girl? I just weighed this morning and I need to lose 61 lbs.

Welcome!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hope everyone has a skinny day!!

Just remember, if you can manage to lose one pound a week for a year, you'll be down 52 pounds. 1.5 pounds a week, and we're talking 78 pounds! Now, that doesn't seem so bad, does it?

Hey all! I'm a dork (most of you don't know me that well yet, but trust me, it's true).
You know we're having a peeps meet, right? and also meeting some other people from the dis that will be around at the same time.
Well I think for those that can't go, we should have a virtual meet.
And I think I've picked the time!
I'll be at MNSSHP while the Peeps are watching Hallowishes from the Poly.
So here's the deal.

You have to make a deal with me here and now. At 9:30 PM EST on September 28, 2007, we'll burst into Somewhere Out there!
And we'll make everyone that can't be there go outside and sing too.
Heh.
For those that don't remember, here's the lyrics.
Somewhere out there beneath the pale moonlight
Someone's thinking of me and loving me tonight

Somewhere out there someone's saying a prayer
That we'll find one another in that big somewhere out there

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star

And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there if love can see us through
Then we'll be together somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star

And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky

Somewhere out there if love can see us through
Then we'll be together somewhere out there
Out where dreams come true

Love it Celery count me in!!

Melinda on PBS they did a Globetrotter special on France - in and around Paris - it was so cool - I wish I could go to Europe some day!! Hope everyone returns safe and sound!

Fran I'm no expert - but so far - it looks great!! I love the 11 days, and the slow start (take advantage of the MVMCP ticket entry day) Now you will read a lot of opinions on Ak - for us its a must 2 day park! DD is a geek - she loves to read all the signs, and info... the bat house we're there a good 20 min while she takes it all in, finds a CM and starts chatting... same thing for each of the trails - we go on the Safari 3 or 4 times - We only see the shows one time (Flights of Wonder is a must, Lion King, Pocohantas) We dont make it to the train to Rafiki much anymore - EE eats up that time! But, you can see Pocohantas there some times, the petting zoo is ok... I've read they only have Nemo show 3 times, so its a HUGE venue, but line up at least 45 min - and dont stress about the crowds, I've read some of the better seats are up higher....

Epcot is also our favorite -so we always go back there!!

Have you signed up for TGM or Touring Plans to get there best days?

Have fun planning!

Gained 2#! Yuck!!! Back on the wagon and will lose those pounds next week!

I saw Jessica Alba on the View talking about Spanx (Not that she really needs them:rolleyes: ). She said that she wore them under her skin tight outfit for Fantastic Four. She loved them. I thought about getting some to wear under my work pants. Are they comfortable?

Spanx are wonderful and very comfortable. I didn't feel "squeezed" at all the whole day. The issue I had, however, is they say they are made so you don't where undies with them. What I didn't notice, until I was at the reception and I went potty, was they were crotchless!!! How I didn't notice this before is beyond me, but, I didn't. I thought they just had an optional flap to use if you didn't want to pull them all the way down, as I had the ones that went all the way up to under my "girls". :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

No! You didn't tell me you have been to Buffalo....I go about 1 every other month to see my best friend.

We'll have to have a mini-meet since we are so close. Maybe at the Buffalo Zoo on a Wed when I am off. My GS has never been and it is about time I take him! :cutie:

We're having Meatballs from "My Girlfriend's Kitchen" that are BBQ with seasoned potato wedges. Smells goood cooking!

That sounds delicious!!! Is that a place online so i can look up the recipe??? Maybe I'll just Google it!!!

Teens leg severed on ride--SIX FLAGS

That is awful! I hope they are able to reattach her feet. That would be a good reason NOT to ride those thrill rides! :scared1:

i've come to the realization that no matter how much weight i lose i will still have thunder thighs and bah-dunk-a-dunk butt (like the subway commercial!).

yep...i'm a shorty. i'm used to it, though. i was so excited at WDW because donald and daisy duck were actually shorter than me! :) i'm 5'3", but my sister is 5'9" and my brother is 6'5". i definitely got the short end of the stick....get it???? :lmao:

I hear ya on the bah-dunk-a-dunk butt! Can't figure out where I got mine, but realized this weekend that my Sister also has it! And being the good Mom I am, I passed it on to my DS!!! :)

As for the height thing, I am the shortest in my family too, other than my Mom. Bro is 6'5", Dad 6"4', Sis 5"11', Sis 5"10, Me 5"4', Mom 5'. At least I have height on my Mom!!! :rotfl2:

On my wedding day - my zipper broke. My mom yelled at me - because I kept trying it on and walking around in it - its only meant to be worn ONCE dont you know!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: (Grandma got there, and she had stuff and repaired it!! So you know it does make a good story, memory...) Jen you are a hero, never gave up, you kept on believin!! :cool1:

My DD's zipper broke the day of her wedding too! We had to call my friend who made it and she came over and sewed her into it! Unfortunately, DD was nursing her 3 mo old and couldn't nurse all day! She was very uncomfortable by the end of the day!

Any room for a new girl? I just weighed this morning and I need to lose 61 lbs.

WELCOME!!! There is always room for more!!!

I like the way you think!!! :thumbsup2 A man's perspective seems to always be different than a woman's. Good thing you're here!!! ;)

Thanks!!! That really does help. I have already lost 28 lbs, just want to hit my goal sooner rather than later! Actually, you and I are pretty close in our progress.

I decided that I was taking today off the diet too (bad!!). My coworkers offered Thai buffet and I just couldn't refuse. I will probably be MIA tomorrow, as DH and I are planning on a relaxing day off with much drinking and eating bad. I promise to hop right back up on the wagon on Sunday!

You ahve to remember your body is probably freaking out right now! As we lose steadily it adjusts..and holds onto fat  (at least that is how it was once expained to me by a trainer person) That is the reason for stalling in progress. Your body is sort of testing you, seeing if it is OK with losing what you ahve lost and then it will allow you lose more. Make sense? I know it sucks regardless of the reason though!

Awww...that is the day I am getting back home from the trip. I will be sentimental and sappy, so count me in!

Hi Peeps! I am a Samer. My goals are to increase my water ( I have been slacking) and excercise. I really want to lose as much as I can before I go back to work. Tomorrow I am going grocery shopping. If anyone has any new food finds or really good meal ideas please share! Let's see how my memory is without quoting.

Dawn-Have a great time seeing your family!

HockeyKat-You are doing an awesome job! Enjoy your cheat day!

Eventer-The pre-travel house cleaning is never as bad as regular house cleaning. I actually enjoy it!

Sandy-Thank you for the inspiration! That Bob Greene quote really hit home with me. If I want to lose this weight I have to excercise that is all there is to it!

LexMelinda-I am excited for you to see your daughter!

Dance-I love your sisters's dress! It is so pretty! Congratulations on your weight loss! You are doing such an awesome job! I can't wait to see the wedding pictures!

Pigget-Last day of summer school!!!:cheer2: Have fun at the beach. It sounds like a relaxing place.

OKWMom-Welcome! This is a great group!

DisneyObsession-Thank you for the info on Spanx. I will look into getting some before I go back to work.

WI Disney Fan-Way to go with the weight loss!:cheer2:

Celery-Great song!

Lynda-Great job on the weight loss and getting the bling back! Enjoy the fair (4-H?)!!

Hello to anyone I missed! I hope everyone has a great day!:)

Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome. I really need to lose this weight and I think it will be easier if I know I have to report my progress weekly. I have always been heavy, but a series of family problems caused me to gain an enormous amount of weight (I'm a comfort eater).

In 2004, I went to the doctor and my blood pressure was really, really high and he wanted me to have gastric bypass. I had heard all of the horror stories about the risks of that surgery plus all of the post-surgical issues so I told him I wanted to try it myself. It took me a year, but I lost 60 pounds out of the 120 I needed to lose. I hit a plateau and got frustrated and gave up.

I have maintained the same weight since the loss but haven't really been motivated to lose the rest I need. However, my wonderful husband has promised to take me on the shopping trip of a lifetime if I am successful.

I think the encouragement you provide each other is wonderful. Do you check in daily with what you eat?

Okw - some people post a daily food diary.
Others just post when they mess up or do really good.
Just post what you feel like.
We're all pretty accepting.
