OK, opinions please?!? How's the new siggie pic? I might change it again after I get my Photopass CD, but for now, I think this is the best I can do. Y'all told me I needed to change it, so what do you think?
Love the new picture, although, I don't know what your old picture looked like since I am new on this thread! Is it from Akershus? My DBF and I have one similar from when we went there, but our Belle didn't have quite as much makeup on... lol! ;)

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE WHO DOES NOT NEED A PASSPORT! :sunny:

If you are in need of a passport, you have my pity. I have lived, slept, eaten, and breathed this issue for the last week. Let's hope it is resolved today! Thank you all for your well wishes and good thoughts.

Package still hasn't left New Orleans. DD's plane leave Cincinnati mid afternoon tomorrow so if the passport arrives tomorrow a.m. we can drive her up ourselves. Anybody know a big shot at FedEX?

I am too new to know what the problem you are having is but it seems like something with Fedex, and in that case I understand! Though, my missing bathing suit was no where near as important as a passport! :goodvibes I am sending you good vibes!

When I was a little girl my dad was my knight. He would get me ready for school, and make me breakfast. I remember honey buns with peanut butter.

I remember one time when the kids were mean to me at school and I ran home in tears. My dad walked me right back to school and talked to the teachers for me.

I remember how he was so excited that he got me a big stuffed purple dog for my bed that matched my bedroom. I would also lay in bed at night and wait for his little orange pick-up to get to the top of the hill. When I heard him coming down the hill, I knew it was safe to go to sleep cause Dad was home.

When I was in high school we got a miniature long haired black and tan daschund. The dog’s name was Sanj. Well Sanj was supposed to be my dog. However, it was soon evident that a dog had stolen a mans heart. We lived in a condo, we didn’t have to do any of the outside shoveling. Sanj had a certain route he had to take when he went outside. He would go out the front door and in the back door. When it snowed my dad would go and shovel a path so Sanj could get from the front to the back. One time Sanj was sick. Dad was told he needed a special diet. My dad stood in the kitchen and made Sanj hamburger and rice. Dad had heard a song on the Dr Demento radio show. He would come home and sing to Sanj. Dead Puppies are no fun. When dad moved to his apartment, he had to find a home for Sanj. When Sanj passed a few years later, the people we gave Sanj to wrote dad a thank you letter. Telling dad about his dog. They thanked him for sharing his dog with them . My dad was not an emotional man, but when he read their letter to me it was the only time in my life I saw my father weep.

Sometime when I was older my dad became my friend. We had many serious talks and many lighthearted talks. He was my father, my friend, and my counselor.

My dad was a lover of gadgets. I have no idea how many times he ordered something he saw on television. He would say “hey Bee I saw the neatest thing on television.” From slicers to bags that were to brown food in the microwave, if he thought it looked like something we could use he would get it.

He loved to play games, pitch, fill or bust, well any cards. When my brother and I were young we would have family nights that we would play Euchre they entire evening would be filled with the teasing of a family. I will miss those days.. He also loved to try and play with people. I remember when Mike was in high school. He had the boys over and dad bought near beer and would serve those boys beer all night long, then the boys started to act like they were getting intoxicated. Dad thought that was funny and he laughed and showed them that they weren’t even drinking real beer. He thought that was so funny. When my dad laughed it was infectious.

His love for his family was so great. We are blessed that even though we were not ready to have him leave us, and he was not ready to go, Neither my brother or I will ever have to wonder if he loved us or if he knew we loved him.

My father was never a man who said I love you. He was a man who showed it by going to work, even when he was sick. He showed his love for his family by hard work and dedication. Several years ago I taught him to say it. There was never a time as we aged that when we parted either on the phone or in person we didn’t say I love you. I will always treasure the times he said it first. I love you kiddo, or Bee.

He loved his grandchildren. They tickled him immensely.
Tori- very smart, maybe too smart for her own good.
Dani- very funny like her dad.
Kaliegh- so cute and quiet like her mom.
Then there were the boys- Connor and Cole- he just got so much joy out of watching them grow.

He recently spent time with his mother and sisters. He was happy when he came back because they had made tentative plans to have a family reunion this summer or fall. He was so excited he talked about it more than once with me. He could not wait for his mother to see his grandchildren.

He would be so humbled by the people who showed up here today. I know he is here with us standing over us and looking down with utter amazement.

Dad- you were loved.

I read this yesterday at my father's funeral.. Poeple came up to me and said that they had never been more proud of me then they were right now.

WOW..

That is very touching and sweet and it made me cry. You are very talented for being able to write such a heartfelt memorial to your father. That was so wonderful of you to share. My heart is with you. :flower3:

here ya go!

coleslaw mix:
1 1-lb bag coleslaw mix
5 green onions, chopped
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup slivered almonds
2 packages ramen noodes, broken (beef flavored - just the noodles, the seasoning packet comes in later!)

dressing:
1/3 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
2 packages seasoning mix from ramen noodles (beef flavored)

mix vinegar and sugar together until well blended. add ramen seasoning. mix in oil. add to dry mix 30 minutes before serving. dressing should be mixed either night before and refridgerated or two hours prior and refridgerated.

i don't know exactly how much this makes, but i usually put it in a huge mixing bowl with aluminum foil over it and it lasts us a few days (but there's only 2 of us!). the longer the dressing sets in the coleslaw, the better because the noodles will kind of soak it up.

enjoy!

This sounds so yummy! Can't wait to try it! :thumbsup2

Melinda - I wathced many a welcome back Kotter eposides and think I can do the passport thingy for you. The Juan Epstein excuse letter ideas I think could just work with this passport issue.

If they don't I will get out my Epstein pen and write a few myself .

You know I am praying for you and DD. Oddly enough this maybe something that DD needed to learn aobut for the down the round herself how to deal with our lovely federal offices...

OK I am a Monty Python fan what can I say??? Always look on the bright side of life hmmm hmmmm hmmmm hmmm cant make the whistle sound so I hummmmmed it instead.

Melinda please let us all know as soon as you get it?? I think we are all sweating this out with ya!!!!!

Melinda...As I was catching up, I was hoping by the time I got to the last page, you would have posted that the passport was received! Since that's not the case...I am continuing to pray for this situation. It's in God's hands and soon, the passport will be in your hands!!! :hippie:

Welcome if I haven't said it already! (I've been a little out of it, having just returned from the World about a week ago.) Yes, that is Akershus. It will be covered in the very next installment of my trip report, hopefully being posted tonight. (shameless plug) :rotfl: She is rather made up, isn't she? She had a lot of eye makeup on anyway. But she was just lovely!

You are just too funny Fidgey-poo! :rotfl: Monty Python fan here as well! I'm glad to see you're still cracking jokes. Hope you are feeling better super soon!

Lynda...I  the new pic! There is such a difference in you from the old one...you GLOW!!!:goodvibes

Thanks! The "GLOW" might have something to do with the fact that it was first thing in the morning, with fresh makeup, as opposed to late at night, during EMH after a long day at Epcot. :lmao: But really, thank you! :)

Wendy - Thanks so much for your "Amazing" comment. How often does one get told they look amazing, really? :goodvibes

I'd go with Saint Anthony... he's whio we pray to to helo find lost things and I think the missing Passport qualifies as "lost"....Ok everybody...pray to Saint Anthony!

Nice to have ya back Fidge!

Success! :cool1: (or a modicum thereof...) I just put on my "three-sizes-too-small-haven't-worn-in-three-years" pants and they FIT!! I put them in the washer for tomorrow! Still got quite a way to go, but I'll take progress where I can.

Plus I just ordered some non-"W" t-shirts from Land's End -- not gonna fit in the pants yet, but I believe the shirts will be perfection! :thumbsup2

Of course, this all comes on the heels of falling down my deck steps on Sunday night. I was an idiota and wore flip flops on a wet wood deck and wouldn't you know I slipped right down. Thank gracious I have several levels to the deck and didn't fall down the complete 17 steps! ACKK! Anyhoo I have a BRUISED back and bum, but nothing broken. I've been icing and alternating between laying down to keep from swelling and walking/moving around to keep from stiffening up... Ah well, I've done this before. I seem to have a case of klutziness that flares up around steps...

BTW -- Lynda, I love the new siggie pic!

Could be worse... could be stabbed. Glad you are back (and hopefully feeling better) Fidge!

Welcome ThinkTink!

Lynda, you seriously look 10 yrs younger in the new pic than the old. That haircut is stunning on you.

Great job MJ!! It is the *best* feeling to fit into what used to be too tight!

The only saint I know happens to be Murphy... of Murphy's Law. I think that little meanie follows me around daily.

I added a lot more weights to my workout today. I think I am going to be hurting later!

dance, did you say something awhile back about getting this bathing suit or was i just imagining that?

http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp...&productId=1203563&langId=-1&categoryId=20603

the reason i'm asking is it's on sale for $14.99 and i'm thinking i might get it. i wanted to know how it fit you.....if the top or bottoms ran big. my bottom is bigger than my top and you can't buy them separately. just wondering what you thought of it. thanks!

I want to cry!

OK, opinions please?!? How's the new siggie pic?
The photo is great Lynda :thumbsup2

SHe is hoping for the phys ed award!
Oooh you meany :rotfl2: That's great that both DD's are getting awards :thumbsup2

THE PASSPORT SAGA CONTINUES...
Hoping that it will be there really soon pixiedust:

:woohoo: Well done :woohoo:

Bee lovely tribute :goodvibes

Bee...Your tribute to your Dad was touching and obviously heartfelt. I don't know how you got through reading it at the funeral, but I'm sure everyone was glad you did. It was beautiful.

Melinda...Any news on the Passport yet???? Still praying. :cloud9:

Scale hop this morning was promising. Hopefully I'll be able to keep it where it is or lose more. That would be good.

Made homemade split-pea soup this morning in the crock-pot for dinner. DH asked me to, so I did. That will be dinner. Should be delish! :woohoo:

I really need to get some "work" accomplished here and stop DISing at work! (But I can't!)

I wish knee-length swim suits were in fashion. My top half is just fine ("FINE" ;) LOL!) but my thighs need a thigh-master. Or lipo. Or magic. Or exercise.....or magic!!!!

So, I stick to an opaque sarong! You can make one out of a couple yard of sheer co-ordinating fabric. Just do a narrow seam and voila! Hotty at the pool... with cute kids in tow, and a large iced beverage!
