DS is supposed to go to Boys Scout Camp on Sunday and he is now sick:scared1: The same thing happened in December and he could not go to camp (he had the flu and strep together). I hope that it is just strep that way he should be good---he started complaining last night and strep is going around like wild fire here. Just say a prayer that he will get to go. He is already behind since he didn not get to go in December.

I lost 2 pounds!

I can't believe it! I've been weighing myself throughout the week and I was actually up a pound on Wednesday - kinda weird, but I'll take it!

Congrats to all the losers and samers! to the gainers, we can do it!

BIG CONGRATS TO UTAH AND HER DEAR SON! WAY TO GO!
You can resist the food, Utah! But have a bite or two of cake to celebrate. And lots of Diet Pepsi (with just a splash of cherry!)!

Can I be anymore annoying with the exclamation points?!?!?! :confused3

-1pd!!! I got lucky on this one.
We have a wedding to go to tomorrow but it's a backyard BBQ one so hopefully I can resist. At least it's on Saturday and not Thursday night!! :rotfl:

Down 1

UM Congrats on DS graduation:woohoo:

Peeps- can I step aside and rant just a moment?

I have had a trip planned to Disney for July since October. Travel party included me, dh, dd1 and her BF, dd2 and my mom. We have gone in the past and taken my neice but since dd1 bf was going and I was paying for everything I couldnt afford to add one more. (niece is 14)

Well, my neice doesnt the most stable home life and has now moved in with my parents. Which this is great- I know she will be taken care of like she should be.

So this is my rant- I didnt plan on taking my niece with us in July and now she lives with my mom whom I did plan on taking and when I asked mom what we were going to do she replied- oh, niece understands that this trip was planned before she came to live here and knows that she cant go
I said mom- that is so MEAN! I cant believe that you would pack your bags and walk out the door with that child looking at you- she said she didnt see any way around it- WELL, I DO: MOM SHOULD STAY HOME TOO-

I did try to see if I could get niece on the flight with us and I was going to find the money somewhere and change all my ADR's and risk loosing a few but I cant get her on the flight with us:sad2: So I dont know what to do.

Right now I am so mad at mom that I'm not speaking to her:mad:

Thanks for listening.
Maybe this is too bold but I do NOT think this is your responsibility. It is your mom's resp. to pay for her or not go. If your mom still goes then maybe you can take niece out to lunch and explain you just can't afford to have her come on your dime. Tell her you are sorry for how cold your mom is being. Perhaps she could fly down for 4 days or something?? Does she have any money at all? Maybe she wouldn't even want to go. I suggest talking to her. :confused3
Hey do any of you peeps do the fridge swap thing? Any of you have fridge I can use at POP in July?

And I wanted to say to the peep who loves sushi- me too!

And punkin you are right(long flat i sound);) It is a "coke" regardless of color or flavor- pop is what a balloon does. Just like I "fix" dinner- even though its not broke, and we water the grass with a "hosepipe" :rotfl: Just a few that I can think of - going to be fun in Sept "Tara" and I am afraid that you are going to be pronounced like the plantation in Gone With the Wind- just call me Scarlet! HMM! wish I looked like her- are corsets back in style?-NVM- I like breathing.
The funny thing is my DS's name is Ashley so people thought my parents named us for Gone with the Wind. (There was a guy in the movie named Ashley if I recall) I did a speech in college on why people can't say my name right. This is how I think (bitter? nah!! ;) ) Tar on the road is obviously TAR. Add an A and doesn't that make TAR-A?? Now TERRA is how you should spell it for Gone with the Wind. Like TERROR?? Makes perfect sense to me but what do I know. I was just paranoid that the JOP doing our wedding would say TERRA. My dad would have had a fit!! (He didn't..my matron prepped him! ) I have tried spelling my name other ways..like TARRA, but it didn't do any good. Oh well. Things could be worse!! ;)
Popping in to record a 1.2 pound loss for the week. That brings me to a grand total of 28.0 pounds lost since the start of the year, and an uber-grand total of 52 pounds lost since April 2005 in about 10 non-consecutive months. I am now 33 pounds away from my goal weight of 155.

Congrats to the losers, and keep up the hard work gainers and samers! The fact that you posted despite not losing means that you are in this for the long haul. Good luck to all this week!

And just for the record, it isn't pop or coke, it is a soda. Everyone knows that! Just like everyone knows that you drink from a bubbler, sit on a davenport in your living room, and make sure you obey the stop-and-go lights at the intersection by da Fleet Farm. And believe-you-me, I'll be upset if you try and budge in line while waiting to ride Mission Space! Uff-dah, you southerners are strange, don't cha know.

It's pop up here!! When someone says soda we know they are from out of town or just weird. :lmao:

I'm down 5!! I think my scale is playing a joke on me, getting me all excited just to crush me later!:rotfl2:

-1 or maybe a bit more... I wasn't at home this morn to weigh in, but I know I'd lost a pound earlier in the week.

Last night was my little sisters LAST High School performance so I stayed at the 'rents house. She sings like a song bird and is in a show choir. The little snip graduates next weekend (gracious that makes me OLD -- she was TINY YOUNG when I graduated).

Congrats to all the "losers" and "samers" -- skinny thoughts to all!!

Tara- you are right- it is not my responsibility- it is my mom's.

I love my mom- I'm just mad at her right now. I love my niece and dont want to see her hurt- she has been hurt enough with what her mom and dad put her through-

I guess my family dynamics is grossly evident- I am the "parent" in my family- I am the "fixer"- goes along with being the oldest i guess-

I'll talk to mom in a few days after I cool off- I just really think that if mom cant afford to pay for DN to go then mom shouldnt go either- mom took on the reponsibility of raising this child and sometimes when you are the parent you have to make sacrifices

thanks for the shoulder to cry on

DOWN 1 POUND!!!

Geez...I thought it was a nationally known chain. It is like a Pampered Chef party but with FOOD..not tools for cooking it!! It's called Tastefully Simple b/c all the food kits (beer bread, dips, cakes, cookies) are easy to prepare..you only need 1-2 ingredients. I haven't hosted a party in years so no clue what diet-savoy things they offer. Either way it's all yummy and reasonably priced. The lady that takes care of my retired horse is the main host..figured I owed her a party for not charging me to care for him the last 3 years!!!! If you go to TastefullySimple.com it can give you a little taste!!

OMG!!! This is the BEST stuff!!! I love the beer bread and the many dips! I also have LOTS of their seasonings and use them all the time!!! Have fun at your party!!!

June 1 = full moon. Things should be back to normal by Sunday!:flower3:

Now doesn't THAT explain it all!!!! :lmao:

Well, I had my doctor's appointment today, and I have to get an endoscopy done because the doctor does not want to put me on Prilosec permanently until he makes sure we aren't masking anything more serious. In the meantime, I have a nasty cold, and I have to wait until I am over it and then go off the Prilosec for 10 days prior to the endoscopy. Someone from "special procedures" is supposed to call me to schedule the appointment so I don't know when it is yet. I am NOT looking forward to it, but I will be glad when it is over. I don't particularly want to go on Prilosec permanently, but I don't want it to be anything serious either. So I'm not really sure what I'm hoping for. But the doctor did give me some advice regarding the weight loss, so that was nice. He told me to keep my heart rate up over 100 for about an hour rather than do high impact for a shorter period of time. And he also told me it can take women about 6 months to make a change in their metabolism. Wow! :scared1: He said the upside is that if you stop working out for a short period of time, your metabolism doesn't change back as quickly.

I always think it's better to have the procedure in order to find out what it is or isn't! Let us know when it's scheduled for so we can say a prayer for you.:cloud9:

Son's High School graduation tomorrow morning. It'll be FUN. I'm sure I'll choke up and bawl the whole time. I'm SO proud of him!!!

Jordan should be all graduated by now!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Hope you didn't bawl too badly and embarrass yourself like I always do at graduations!!! :rotfl2: Enjoy the party and have fun!!! :woohoo:

I hope DS feels better! It would be awful if he missed this camp too!

As for your name, I say it TARA with a short "a" sound as in "Apple". That's the NJ in me! :confused3 I always said soda until moving to Buffalo, where it is pop. Still like soda better though!

I am -1.6. Less than I wanted but AF is still hanging around so I am hoping for better results next week. I also tend to think that your week is a week delayed, almost like a paycheck. I put in the work this week to see it on next week's weighin.

Congrats to all the losers!

daisy, good luck on the interview!

Tara, I just mimic whatever someone tells me their name is. One of my biggest pet peeves is when I introduce myself as Kathryn and people immediately call me Kate or Kathy... I am Kathryn. I accept Kat as a derivative but nothing else, and it always seems like people assume Kathy.

UM, congrats on the graduation and have a great time at the party!

Sparkie, sorry about your niece/mom.

I am off to the gym. I will be mostly MIA this weekend with my friend in town, beach day, and water park day.

Have a skinny day everyone!!

Just a quick flyby.....I am down 1 pound today! I have a zero as the second number in my weight!! Which means, less than 10 pounds to ONEderland for me!!!

And secretly I am hoping to lose a bit more by later in the day if you know what I mean...my trips to the potty have yet to be productive today.

Back to try to read up.....

Ok, immediately when I read the first part I was thinking to myself, "Thats too bad... her mom cant go now". I just assumed that is what she would do! I think she is being pretty cold to think she should just leave her behind. Your mom should pay and find a way to get her there, or stay home.

Hello... hello... hello.... Is anyone here... here... here.... Echo... echo... echo.... Now batting for Pedro Borbon, Manny Mota... Mota... Mota...

AARON! You are not alone! I'm just sorting through the posts for numbers. Who's Pedro Boron?

22.3 so far today with SpongeMisty being the biggest los-ah so far!!!

What are they looking for? Ulcers? DH has an endoscopy a few years ago....irritation in the esophogus. They biopsied a few places but it was just irritation...not cancer or Barrett's. They put him on Prevacid and it didn't agree with him so he just quit taking it. :confused3 He's never gonna last me. :sad2: Anyway, I hope you are feeling better soon and they can get to the source of your stomach issues.
Peeps- can I step aside and rant just a moment?
Wow! I think if I were your mother I'd offer my seat to your neice. Sounds like the poor kid has had a rough year. Poor Sparkie!
The little snip graduates next weekend (gracious that makes me OLD -- she was TINY YOUNG when I graduated).
You must be so proud of her! So what does that make you like....27? OLD is all in the perspective, I'm finding.

AARON! You are not alone! I'm just sorting through the posts for numbers. Who's Pedro Boron?
That's a quote from Airplane! (I added the exclamation point because it is in the title of the movie, not because I am excited about typing that.) Striker (the main character in the movie) is having echoing flashbacks from when he was a pilot in the army, and he recites that line toward the end of the echoing flashbacks. I think of that line when ever I hear an echo. I don't think I listed that as one of my favorite movies in my bio, but I probably should have.

Maybe I've missed it because I don't get around here as often as I should, but what happened to the Peep of the Week? Am I the only one who filled out the survey? (If so, I should be a shoe-in to win before the end of the decade.) UMA was the obvious first choice, because without her none of us would be here. Was there ever a 2nd PotW?

Hmmm...I dont think there was. Maybe it was all a big scam to get us to tell personal info about ourselves

I was expecting to see a whole page or 2 when I came to log in today and it has been so quiet! I must be the only one stuck in the house all day today. The weather is hot and humid, and I dont want to take all the kids swimming today...so inside we sit.

You caught me! I was the genius behind the Peep of the Week. I did start it like you said with UtahMama and then planned on having a new one announced every two weeks. But then I went on vacation and my new semester of classes and therapy clients started and then I went away again and then life just happened and no one mentioned it so I just stopped it. I did receive many surveys so thank you for that. If enough people tell me they want to start doing it again I will definitely try to start it up again.

It has been a very gloomy and rainy day here. Perfect for laying in bed and doing nothing which is exactly what I have been doing instead of getting any work done. :rolleyes1

They are looking for ulcers or anything else that might be causing the hearburn/reflux other than just a bad valve, I guess. He just wants to make sure it is nothing serious causing the heartburn before we just start treating it with Prilosec permantly. I don't really want to be on daily medication permantly at my age, and the heartburn is worse when I am PMSing, so I really wish there was some other way to treat it if it's hormonal or something, but one step at a time. I guess I'll see what the enoscopy shows and talk to my doctor after that. I will take the Prilosec if that is what he says I need to do. I just want to know what my options are once we know for sure what is causing it. I am NOT looking forward to the test though. I know I won't remember it, but I have never had to be under IV sedation before, so that makes me a little bit nervous. And I am told that I have to be off Prilosec for 10 days prior to the test, I can't eat the morning of the test, and it will take about half a day to recover. I think DH is going to take me, but he hates hospitals, so I am a little concerned about that. I might have to have my mom ready as backup. We'll see. I just wish they would call me to schedule the darn thing so I know when it is going to be.

for some reason this made me have a flashback to my obsession with the movie "fargo" and constantly saying, "we're going to aarrrrrrby's for lunch, don't cha know???" :rotfl:
