Dene Thank you for sharing - I know we are accused by lurkers for sharing such personal stories - it's what girlfriends do - share!! Hope your dd and you work it out - I have to tell you its my nightmare - my dd is only 10 - and she is as strong willed as I am - how will we survive - I actually got in a car and left her home alone Saturday (it was 4:00pm, dh was supposed to be home any minute, and ds was around the block - I called and told him I left) I feel guilty when I leave, but I know if I stay and listen to her yell at me and treat me so horribly, I"ll smack her - so I leave before I get too emotional

MAPiglet Last night I had a dream of Lorilie and Luke - they were like Kelly Rippa and Mark Counselos and went to Vegas and got married, and then toured the country for their Honeymoon... Rory worked at a newspaper (probably like Sabrina the Teenage Witch because DD is always watching that show!! ) I dont know if I'd ever stick rory with Logan (he has wandering eyes, and will never be faithful to one woman - Rory knows this and is wary thats why she didnt stand by him!! )

I will say I bawled not so much because it was a sad ending (like in my dream Lorilei got hit by a truck and lost her leg - like Heather Mills I really dont have much of an imagination, I just combine storylines!! ) but I just really get attatched to characters - it drives DD crazy when I'm reading a book and I start crying - - "Mom its a book - ITS FICTION"

I just lost my train of thought, I'm daydreaming again...

I just found out yesterday that I'm going to be an aunt........again. I have 13 nephews and 5 neices and that's not including my stepfamily's children (I have no idea how many because we don't speak much).
My sister is having a baby. It's due in January.

What is really cute is to hear Malorie say, baby becca wooweese.

I broke down and went shopping for the baby. Onsies, hot summer outfits. Malorie saw a pair of shoes and said she had to buy them for baby becca, I also got caps, hand socks, and onsies that all match.

It's hot here around Aug 13th. So, lots of onsies.

My cousin gave me a bunch of clothes but the sizes start at about 9 months. I just need some newborn stuff. I gave alot of Mal's stuff away so I didn't have much in the newborn department.



The news of the day......basement leaked from last nights storm. Carpets all wet, I had to cut it in places to pull it back so I can try to dry it out.

The waterproofing guy we use is backed up. I'm just like squeeze me in. This old crack recracked and it needs to be fixed right. I've had this company out 3 other times for old repairs that didn't hold from the previous owners.

We just found out the IRS owes us about 400.00, well guess where that money is going.....

Afternoon Peeps!

Well, I took dd2 to extra dance class yesterday. Teacher is merging 2 classes together to make the goup bigger. DD2 group is comprised of mostly 5th and 6th graders. This other group the girls look to be 14ish- a lot of in the room. Well, I was first hand witness to a teen out of control. The teacher was correcting the girls for dancing with flat feet- these are supposed to be advanced classes and they should know better- well he told them they were going to run this particular step up and down the floor until they did it right no matter how long it took and he told them if he saw them being lazy then he was going to be in their face to let them know(maybe not the best tactic with teens but that's what he said) Well, he was correcting one girl and was doing the step in front of her and telling her to pick up you feet- I dont know what she said but he stopped and took her by the arm and told her that he would not be disrespected in his class. Shouting from this teen to her teacher began.

We got in the car and my DD2 told me that that "girl" is scary! She said after Mr. Dale corrected her when he turned his back she was saying a lot of curse words about him including the (abcdeF) word.
So I called the studio and spoke with their former teacher(she's no longer teaching - she got cancer last year) anyway- we talked and i told her I couldnt believe what I saw and I really didnt appreciate what my daughter heard- She told me the studio would take care of it.

My kids insist they don't use bad language, and I've never heard them slip up but I know I hear middle and HS kids using the abcdeF word all the time. I'm not shy. I very nicely tell them I'd appreciate it if they didn't use that language around me, and they never give me a hard time about it. I usually get an apology ...I really don't think they realize the language they are using! Of course in the case you're speaking of I'm sure that girl knew exactly what she was saying!

We had a girl at DDs dance school that slapped her across the face with a book(!) for no reason while they were waiting for class one day. I reported it too and the teacher assured me that the girl was moving and would not be back. I just can't believe how disrespectful some kids are to teachers and peers.

F Word Story

DS (a kindergartener) was playing on the playground after school a week or two ago and he comes to me....

DS: Charlie said the F word.
Me: What is the F word?
DS: FUNK!
Me: OK....well let me talk to Charlie.

Me: Charlie! Did you say the F word?
Charlie: Only once.
Me: Does your mother let you say the F word?
Charlie: no
Me: Well then I better never hear you say it again.

Charlie had the fear of God put in him. His mom is a kindergarten teacher and he was mortified to be BUSTED on the bad language. I'm pretty sure Charlie knew that the F word wasn't FUNK and DS misunderstood but I hope that little warning worked. He is a sweet kid and looked sorry.

Melinda I was thinking you were telling a joke - I had to reread it when you were saying it really happened!! My son at that age told the teacher a kids said a "bad word, you know 4 letters" So the teacher talks to the boy and he said I thought we could say "shut up"

(do y'all notice we're not allowed to say shut up anymore? I know its disrespectful and I'm glad teachers have found better ways to quiet a class, I just think its amazing as my mom's generation it was common ...)

My boys played hockey, and my dh informed me that locker room talk has to be raunchy for them to "fit in"... ok fine...BUT NOT IN MY HOUSE!! And ds when he was in 7th or 8th grade got punished for thinking of calling me the abcdeF word He totally about it now, but I made my point - you will not disrespect me... now if I could get thru to dd... hmmmm

okay, peeps....wanna feel skinny? go find the nearest store to you that sells larry levine brand pants and try some on. i just went to TJ maxx to get some new work pants and i got 3 pairs, 2 of which are larry levine brand and a SIZE 8!!!!!!!!!!!

now i know better than to believe i'm a size 8. there's no way. i just got into a size 10 a few weeks ago from a 12/14. but i'll take an 8 any day.....even if the brand name sizes stuff to small!

i googled "larry levine" because i'd never heard of the brand before and it shows that goody's and macy's carries that brand. just thought i'd spread the word!

oh man, now this is why I need to multi quote things - I just forgot everything else I wanted to reply to. Rats.

Ok, I watched Gilmore Girls last night. I think it was a good finale overall. I definitely cried at a couple points, but not because it was sad. Like the Peep who said it before me, I have become attached to them and I just kept remembering that I won't ever have a new GG to look forward too. Sad. But it lives on in DVD!

Have I mentioned I'm going to Disney tomorrow? I think I might have I'm leaving after school so send pixie dust that it's not rainy and that I don't have too much traffic.

And if you could spare some more of that pixie dust, I have 2 speech clients tomorrow - one is the same little boy I had last semester and the other is a new one that I have not met yet. I'm nervous about them so please send some PD that the sessions go well!

OK, I have to finish up some school work and then pack. Nothing is packed! Not at all! Yikes!

The f word stories reminded me of something that happened here a few days ago. Ds 13 called his siter a *****! I wasn't here at the time so my dh handled it. He took him into the other room and asked him if he knew what that word meant. Ds said no, he'd just heard it at school, so dh explained to him what it was. He said it was hard not to laugh at the look on ds face as he realized what it was! Later that day after I had heard about it, I said, now aren't you glad your dad was the one who got to explain that one to you! I love embarassing my kids! Oops, I didn't realize that word would be blocked out. Let's just say it's another word for vibrator

So, I am officially a free woman as of about 3:00 when my mom too DD on her cross country adventure. It is strangely quiet here now...I may have to go shopping or something to keep myself busy. Just what I should NOT be doing, but I may have to go find some of those jeans Punkin! I need to feel skinny!!

Hi again Peeps

Have any of you heard of DISmates? Probably not since a lot of you are married but I found it here through the DIS. It's sort of a free match.com like place for Disney lovers. I didn't really have any luck with it, nor was I really going there a lot. Anyway, a couple months ago, I saw that someone had viewed my profile so I sent him a message. We've sort of been PMing back and forth through the DIS with the boring what do you do, etc questions. Then I asked to see a pic of him. And he sent some and asked for some of mine. He had already seen the pics in my Pre-TR but I sent another one anyway. And he never wrote back. Now in my head I don't care because it wasn't like I actually liked him or anything but what a blow to your self confidence when that happens. I was actually starting to feel pretty again even though I'm huge and then that happened. Sucks.
