Thanks Jo....I just called a tailor here and she said she can try to rush it by friday but she has to see it first...of course no promises. And she said she cant tell me how much til she does. So I am headed there now. Crossing my fingers I can help. I will do whatever I can to settle this for her. She doesnt need all this stress right now.

First of all dance good luck! I hope it all works out for you guys! Sending you good vibes... :goodvibes

Now to be totally off topic :offtopic: (for real)...
Since I noticed a lot of book posts last week I wanted to share something with everyone. It is called BookMooch.com- it is free to sign up and it is basically a cross country book swapping website. It has helped me get rid of tons of my books AND grab tons of recipe books and other things that are of more interest to me. You basically enter your books into your inventory by ISBN number and then search there database. Everytime someone choses to mooch one of your books you get a point which you can use to mooch someone elses. When you list a book in inventory or leave feedback you get .1 of a point also. It only costs you the amount of sending your books out through Media Mail. Basically about $2 for me usually. So you are able to swap around books, get rid of your old ones and find stuff you want to read. I am about done with my inventory and searching to use up all my points. Then I will be donating my last 3 or 4 books to the library. It only took me about a month to go through a whole bunch! In any case, hope that is of some use to someone! Enough with my babbling about it.... :rolleyes1

That is really cool! Thanks for sharing! I love getting a bargin on a book! I love going to library book sales. I get books for my classroom and for myself. The last time I went to one I found a Birnbaum's WDW Guide (2004) for 10 cents!

OUCH! $180!

But they can have it ready for her to try on tomorrow at 3, possibly sooner so I am just going to pay it. They are addding a bustle and re-inforcing the zipper we may have pulled a bit loose trying to force it :rolleyes1 At least they think they can get enough in each of the 8 seams to let out to make it work, so we are willing to let them try. They seem to think she needs more inches than we do, but they are russian and well known for their perfectionism, so I am sure they have different ideas on how it should ideally fit. We could care less as long as it zips and stays that way :rotfl:

Thanks for your support guys, I promise not to babble on and on for the next week about the wedding ;) I may however post a pic of her in the dress tomorrow, proudly zipped to the top :goodvibes

That is very cool! I have been looking for a place to get rid of some of my books that are collecting dust!

Hi everyone!

Just taking a quick break from class to share some fun news for me. For "camp" at the clinic, we will be discussing pets in the next couple of weeks. I brought up the idea of bringing in my Phoebe for an hour during a time that I'm not working to share her with the campers. She loved the idea! I'm so excited to show off my Phoebe. And I think everyone will just love it. I have to get the clinic director's approval which shouldn't be a problem as well as the parents approval which again hopefully won't be a problem.

Lynda - I know you are big on dog training! Phoebe is a good girl but has her moments. Any tips on how to keep her on task and limit the not so nice behaviors (like barking!) that's what I'm most concerned with. That she will realize I have snacks and then keep barking until I give them all to her. I plan on bringing in some of her favorite toys and doing a few of the cheesy tricks she does - sit, high five, lay down, "touch".

Can you tell I'm excited? I hope everything works out and it's a go!

Okay back to class...

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE! :sunny:

Well, I was sure I'd find pictures of the Winkers/Utah/Sponge meet this morning but alas....
Misty...your puppy is so BIG and so beautiful now!
i was checking for that also i left my camera in the car and was too lazy to go get it or i would have posted some we have to wait for winkers to put them on here...
Thanks my Daizie dog is now 5 1/2 months old and she is a doll ...:cloud9:

hello all
just got back from the dentist for all 5 of my kiddos and guess what absolutely positively no cavaties!!!
the dentist said that i am a outstanding mother for having 5 kids and no cavaties. love compliments that make me a good mother but outstanding i will gladly accept... i can't decide if i should crash and take a nap or if i should caffeinate myself to stay awake? the only child who is sleeping is my DS 10 .. my DH already said he would take care of dinner :cloud9: maybe it will be a early night .. i am gonna go catch up on some tr .:wizard:

just made my first batch of magic pooh: muffins. they're in the oven now. i'll let you guys know how they turn out and if they work.....don't worry....no details! :lmao: i couldn't find the fat free brownie mix, so i got low fat. i figured out the calorie count to be around 115 per muffin. does that sound about right to those of you that have made them?

i had a bowl of the all bran cereal soaking in water sitting on the counter and DH walked by and goes "what the h*ll is that?" i told him and he said, "looks like rat turds." gee......thanks for the encouragement, honey!

I am totally an ol fashioned gal. No pills, no gimmicks. I have to eat healthy and exercise.

It's all on me, if it's meant to be.

Nice to see some of you back! Hang out more often k?

Have a great day. Go out and try to enjoy it somehow. :cool2:

Ha! At least you exercise. I won't even do that unless you count a 30m walk around the neighborhood everyday with a slow 3 yo. in tow exercise!! :rotfl:

hello everyone!
I am back from a funtabluous time at WDW!! However, i have to go to weigh in tonight and am a bit nervous about the damage DDP did to my weight. Ah well...those crabcakes, cheese plates and chocolates were worth it :)
Are you going to do a TR?? I would love to see pics! :goodvibes

Well peeps...not such good news here. We have tried every undergarment known to man and she still needs an inch or so. We actually were able to zip it this morning but the minute she moved, it went down again. She leaves here on Friday to go back to Ohio for the wedding and I leave monday. We have no time for anyone to fix this dress, not to mention every place around here said they cant do it anyways. And we cant afford to pay a ton at this point even if they could. She just left here a few minutes ago after we tried yet another sucker inner thingy, and she left in tears and I started right as she left. :sad1:

I just wish I could help her in some way. I know her pain, been there myself a few times too. I just cant think of any easy fix we can do ourselves to the dress. The top part is a corset type and it zips to the waist. We can zip it past her hips, but I think that is the problem-her hips are a bit too wide making it impossible to close the zipper to finish the rest of the way. We either need to find a way to add fabric and move the zipper (because the seams have zero in them we could let out) or take out the zipper and find a way to make the corset go all the way down. Both of which seem too hard for me, a novice seamstress at best, to do. I am just so upset that I can help her...she has done so much for me.
I wish you were closer..I am sure I could rig it somehow for her!!

First of all dance good luck! I hope it all works out for you guys! Sending you good vibes... :goodvibes

Okay back to class...
Our dogs are naughty barkers..they get in "pack mode" and bark at everything. DH's dog barks in the house out of boredom and it drives me nuts! So we invested in 3 "barking collars." They sound mean but they work!!! I think they were $60 each. They got shocked the first few times and now they are perfectly quiet when they are on....they just know what's expected. I rec. them 110%!!!! :thumbsup2

Eww!! :rotfl: DH and I only have one bath in our house..imagine if we both ate them?? ;)
I like your new bling!! I can't wait to add some when I get back!!

I have soccer on Mondays and I am going to go to the gym at least twice other than that. Even though I work 10 hour days in the summer nannying- I can make room. I can go after or before work. See the dbf a little later or a little less. It will be better for both of us in the end anyway. I want to try and lose my first 10-15 before we leave on July 22. I need and want that confidence boost. I also have a goal to complete the loss of all 50 pounds by January. I will be seeing our family that lives in Florida this weekend for my niece's baptism and wont see most of them again until my cousins wedding in January so it is my goal to be ready by then. It will be a tough summer for me. But then when school starts and I am making better money I will join a better gym with classes and be able to pay for what I am eating SO I can chose healthier.
Okay, so thats it. My very new very real plan. Wish me luck and help! ;)
Any chance your dbf can join the gym w/you? Then you could spend more time together, and encourage each other.

Have you guys ever watched that late night infomercial about NON-excercises that you just BREATHE your way thin? Ok, it's REALLY vague and has lots of testimonials...but the "product" seems to be the scamiest scam on the planet earth. Or maybe it's tightening muscle groups one at a time. You never know, this infomercial is just so cleverly done. Snake oil!!!!

OR!!!! That belt with electronic vibrating thingies in it so it DOES the sit ups for you! While your carpooling! While your relaxing! etc....SOOOOO sad!

I saw one sold by Soloflex called WBV, whole body vibration. http://www.soloflex.com/. It reminds me of the vibraty thing in the Carousel of Progress.

It seems pointless, but it could be fun ;)

They've been advertising herbal wraps for brides and bridal parties around her. They guarantee to take off several inches overall, and it lasts for a few days. If the alteration doesn't work, this might be something to consider.

We got new cable/internet service, and my computer is the only one that doesn't work in our house. I'm on DH's now. The 400 TV stations are great, but I want my computer back :badpc:

They do look icky, but they are ok with a bit of ff cool whip on them! The texture takes some getting used to though.

i thought the muffins were actually pretty good! i didn't mind the texture at all. they haven't "worked their magic" yet but i just ate one like 2 hours ago so i wasn't expecting a miracle!

No money honey! Its just a way of trading off books, or in my case getting rid of them. I used my accumulated points to get some lesson plan books and recipe books. Hope that helps. :) You can always try Amazon or Ebay or Half.com?

Any chance your dbf can join the gym w/you? Then you could spend more time together, and encourage each other.
He has a gym membership and has been working out his muscles for quite some time, he just has to deal because the truth is- he has a lot more free time then me so he is able to hit the gym at slow times and I am only availble during super packed times of the day. Thanks for the suggestion though! :goodvibes

Now... I want to share my Disney creation of the day!
I will put it in my PTR someday- hopefully in a week or so when I have actually been able to take some numbers down! ;)

I was inspired by a thread by marcime and lazidazi's TR! I just  the idea of a countdown!!! WDW here I come!

Great countdown calendar!! All I used was a dry-erase board!!

Shucks on the no money thing. I don't really read anymore so I don't think I would find something to trade. Might be worth looking into for children's book though...I have an obsession with buying those!! If I never have kids my sister will never have to buy my nephew a book again!! :rotfl:

Okay back to class...

Well, Shannon, Jasper's issues don't include barking (Amazing, considering she is a beagle!), but she pulled REALLY BADLY on her leash, and the instructor at puppy class recommended a Gentle Leader collar. It turns her into a different dog, I tell you! It is amazing! It calms her down big-time! So, it might work for Pheobe's barking, but I don't know. :confused3 They are made by Premier if you are interested.

BTW, we were in agility class for a while with a standard poodle named Molly, and it made me think of you Shannon!

Thanks. She actually uses the Gentle Leader. Our puppy kindergarten instructor made us all get one and it is amazing. Almost like night and day when it is on! The more I think about it the more I'm realizing that she is actually a pretty good dog. Usually the barking starts when she feels like no one is paying attention to her and she is bored. Luckily in this case, she will be the star so she'll be eating it all up. She'll just need an adjustment period to walk around and smell everyone/thing. I'll be holding her leash the whole time. Plus the 45 minute drive down there will tire her out  No joke. Sometimes if she's being extra annoying, I mean playful, I'll just take her for a spin around the neighborhood and she calms down. A bit. For awhile.

I'd love to teach her a new trick though by then, but I will admit to being a little lax in that area although I do have 3 weeks. Any suggestions on an easy one? She does the sit, lay down and shake (I call it a high 5) completely perfect.

Just curious, how was the poodle in agility? My mom thought it would be fun to do that with Phoebe, but I've never seen a poodle doing it so I figured it had to be for a reason  Plus now that she's 3 1/2 I feel like its almost too late to start something like that. Probably not though.

Speaking of Phoebe, I really do think she has a little cold. I made the mistake of googling some of her symptoms (which is a ton of sneezing and an on again/off again runny nose) and I totally freaked myself out. One said it could be a tooth abcess of an upper molar that got into the sinus cavity :scared1: It's been going on since Saturday or Sunday and I think it might have gotten a little better. She is eating and playing completely normal though. I'm thinking of calling the Vet and just talking to them to see if I should bring her in. Unfortunately I can't bring her tomorrow and Friday she is going to the groomers (although if she is contagious to other dogs, that's probably not a good idea). They are open Saturday though if I really need to take her. My mom said she may be able to take her tomorrow if we feel its necessary. My poor baby. Although she's acting like nothing is wrong.

How about "Bow"? (Like her front end down and her back end up, Josh and I call it play stance.) To teach it, you kind of have to reach around her mid section, holding her bellyup and put a treat down with the other hand. Does that make sense?
