DisneyGalUK you can talk to me. I work 11pm to 7am (Central US time) and am on the computer sometimes when I am at work (Shh!)

Prayers being sent.

And Birthday wishes.

Weighed in for Scale Back Alabama today. They wouldnt let me weigh nakie- I just dont understand why.

Oh, and Dawn - remember a few months ago when everyone was discussing their favorite bands? And you recommended to me that I check out John Mayer's "Try" because I like blues music? Well, I picked it up this past weekend with a Best Buy gift card that I got for Christmas. And I LOVE it! I swear, during a few of the songs (Out of Mind in particular), I had to double check to make sure it wasn't Stevie Ray Vaughn. The guitar and voice sounded eerily similar, which is a huge compliment. And I love that they did Hendix's "Wait Until Tomorrow". Very cool. Great CD suggestion!!!

i'm glad you liked it! people don't know what they're missing when they write off john mayer as a pop star. he's very talented and soulful and i just love him. he also covers jimi henrix's "the wind cries mary" a good bit live and he covered "bold as love" on his last CD, continuum. you'd probably like that one, too. his idol is stevie ray vaughn....he has SRV tattooed on his forearm.

(Yep, I'm a Golden Girls lovin', Desperate Housewives watching man on a weight loss board consisting of mainly women; and I'm married. Not that there's anything wrong with it if I wasn't...)

i think that's awesome. i hate it when guys are too macho to relate to women. i think it's so much more attractive and appealing when ray does things most guys wouldn't.....like housecleaning and grocery shopping. our neighbors think it's so wierd that he does things like that. once we were at a BBQ with some neighbors and when i told them we rented "brokeback mountain" the guys were like, "man, please tell me you didn't watch that." :confused3 i don't get the whole macho thing! and another time all the guys were playing horseshoes and ray was sitting with the women talking and one of the guys asked ray why he was sitting up here with the girls and i spoke up and said, "because we talk about more interested things." he didn't like that very much.

 me neither! ;) Our team captain had the coordinators take a "before" picture of our team. Then she took individual pictures of each of us. Hopefully our "after" pictures will look great! :cool2: Good luck

But I had to post cuz your talking about Edward again. I'm just not sold on Cedric yet. And I'm really stressing over it. You'd think I'd find something better to stress about huh? Like the fact that my mammo/chest x-rays showed something and I'm worried that I'm going to start "the process" of fighting cancer again this year when I barely my last battle 4 months ago. But thinking about Edward is so much more pleasant. :rotfl:

And if I became a vampire, I wouldn't have to go through chemo again. I may be onto something here.

I can't get over my sinus cold and my ears are plugged and they hurt so I don't want to eat fruits or drink my water. I want hot things. And chocolate. And I leave for WDW in 6 days so I know how well that weight battle will go.

I am not sure about Cedric as Edward either. He is adorable but not sexy and there is a huge difference between the two.

I am sending you lots of pixie dust in the hope that what was on the mammogram/x-rays is nothing. I wouldn't worry about the scale, go have fun in WDW and you can think about it when you get back.

I took him to school today and he was walkng so slow and I started to worry if I pushed him too fast to go to school. I asked him what was wrong and he mumbled under his breath that him being with me was embarrassing. I felt so bad, I didn't want to embarrass him so I just walked ahead and acted like I wasn't with him. What I really wanted to do was hug and kiss him in front of everyone. But that would be middle school humiliation. So, he's doing good.

The little guy did great!

That is good news!! I am not looking forward to the day when my babies find me embarassing.

I'm an infomercial junkie! But only the household products. You know, cooking gadgets; new and improved products to strip layers upon layers of old paint and stains from furniture; tools to cut the time to paint a room in half; kits for making fake-yet-real-looking stained glass windows. I've been watching those since I was a kid. One of my guilty pleasures, I guess.

I DVR'd American Gladiators since Desperate Housewives was new last night. I was a huge fan of AG as a kid, and now that it involves the Hulkster, I can't miss it! But it was also the last new Desperate Housewives until the writers strike is over, and I was just dying to find out the aftermath of the tornado. (Yep, I'm a Golden Girls lovin', Desperate Housewives watching man on a weight loss board consisting of mainly women; and I'm married. Not that there's anything wrong with it if I wasn't...)

My husband LOVES infomercials and gets suckered in everytime. He has bought quite a bit of the advertised products and I'd say 80% are not worth the box they are in. One time he got "pasta pot" that held our dinner hostage and when he tried to pry the lid off realized the handles had melted. All said and done our dinner was never freed from the pot and it all went in the trash :rotfl2:

BTW, you are my kind of guy!! You would get along really well with my DH. He is the same way. You all are a rare find!

hey, peeps......had to share this with you guys. after gym class this morning anna was doing some measurements on a girl who hired her for personal training and she offered to do my measurements. i haven't done measurements since right before i joined this thread. we just measured waist, hips and thighs since i'm not really worried about my arms/chest at this point.

my measurements from january 2007:
waist - 32.75 inches
hips - 46.5 inches
thigh - 27.5 inches

my measurements today:
waist - 26.75 inches
hips - 42.5 inches
thigh - 24.25 inches

i'm not really sure how i should look at this. obviously it's not bad, but i was thinking i had lost more off my hips and thighs. 6 inches off my waist is great except that that's not where i need to lose it!

This is great!!! You should be very proud of yourself!! :worship:

Pakey- you just gave me a heart attack about there being something suspicious on your mamography. NOOOOOO! When will you know if it's "nothing"? Sweetie!!!!

Dawn- You just gave me the idea to take my measurements so I can see if I'm losing if my numbers aren't budging...you are just full of good tips, even when you're just talkin'! :thumbsup2

Aaron- I like the household stuff too, kitchenware in particular in Home Shopping. I get the biggest kick out of the Quacker Factory clothing lady...now that's great selling. I sort of am going through withdrawls without our DISH network (I used to have all the homeshopping channels bookmarked).

Sandy- I know I'm cross-threading again, but, YOU CAN DO IT!!!! :cheer2:

:yay: HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY!!! :yay:

Hi Peeps. I've been lurking and reading here but not posting as my weight challenge is less than stellar so I've got nothing to brag about out here.

Don King hair is now under control. Got a bit of a cut. It's still super dooper ugly though and I can't wait for it to grow long enough for a flat iron. I will not be posting any pics of my new "do".

Weight challenge isn't going well. I'm not gaining any weight. I'm holding steady at 23 lbs total lost (had been at 26 lost before Christmas) but I'm not motivated to work at it and it will take work. I can't get over my sinus cold and my ears are plugged and they hurt so I don't want to eat fruits or drink my water. I want hot things. And chocolate. And I leave for WDW in 6 days so I know how well that weight battle will go.

I hope I'm ready by the time we start the Easter challenge. :lmao:

Oh no!! Sending prayers and pixie dust that it turns out to be a spec on the machine or something.

I hear ya on the WDW as a direct opposition to weight loss problem.

I had my "wellness" appointment this morning and I was fully expecting her to be upset at me, but she turned out to be somewhat pleased. My last appt was 7/11/07, and I have gone down only 2 lbs, but 2.5% body fat since then. Actually, since my highest weight appt w/ her (3/14/07), I have gone down 21.5 lbs and 6% body fat. And I had already lost 15 from my highest weight when I had that appt.

I really need to get in my head that gradual weight loss is a good thing, and not beat myself up for not having made my goal by now.

And on another good note, I beat the CRAP out of that elliptical trainer today. I did 2 miles in 19:30, 2.5 miles total in my 25 minutes. Plus I did 40 minutes of weights. I have started a new thing which is doing the weights first... I seem to have more energy that way for some reason.

Hope everyone has a great and skinny day!!

pakey - i totally missed that you had a questionable mammogram. i think i saw that you guys were discussing the vampire books and just skimmed that part. you're in my thoughts and prayers. let us know everything turns out.

i've read that you should do weight training first and then cardio because once you get to the cardio your body is already in fat-burning mode.

Hi everyone,
My first day being accountable and up for the challenge went ok, the food choices were pretty good and as of yet - no creme eggs! Woohoo for me!
My problem is fitting in the 8 large glasses of water - ive had 4 today which is better than what I had yesterday (0):rotfl: . Ive seen people mention Crystal Light(?) but im not sure what that is? Is it some kind of powder you put in your water to make it taste better? I wonder if we have something similar over here?

Id like to say again thank you to everyone for the welcomes, it made it that bit easier today to say no to the bad choices - the thought of coming on here Friday and saying 'Whoops i messed up my first week!' was too much! So thank you!

Also, someone mentioned a valentines day challenge - could you please put me down for 5lbs - not a huge amount but I think if I set myself too high I'll be very disappointed if I dont get it!

Im still not sure on the quoting, after a long day at work my brain and my fingers aren't quite working with each other, so I'll try to remember everything - apologies if I get names wrong!

dwheatl - for your sister
Pigget - I read some pages back about your friend Christi - im so sorry the news wasnt better for you all,
Pakey - you are such an inspiration, my friends mum battled breast cancer and came through it - for your next round of results
Someone (Im sorry, I should write things down!) had a poorly little one - pixiedust: heres hoping they get well soon.
Sparkie - its nice to know someone else will be here in keeping with my odd times!:rotfl:

Pakey - I must have missed the "oops" on the mammogram post too. Hope it turns out to be just an "oops". Now I really need to see you in the airport, so I can give you a Peep hug. PM me if you want my cell number.

Kelly - My niece is coming your way tomorrow (actually she won't get there until Wed.). She is doing an overseas study with her university. She is going to be in London for a while, and then Greece? not sure about that one, but I know London for sure. My sister is nervous because she is a diabetic, and is having to send three months of insulin with her.

Allie - Thats so cool about your niece, has she been to London before? Its great, Im about 3 hours away by fast train and I love to go and do all the touristy sightseeing! Greece is fabulous too, Ive only been to one of the islands but I'd love to go back and do the Island Hopping!
The baggage restrictions are still pretty tight over here, but for medicines etc she'll be fine!
I hope she has a wonderful time!

i googled it and found this website where you can buy it (just in case you don't have any over there): http://store.drsoda.com/crystallight1.html

and as far as quoting, what i do is just figure out where i left off, start there and hit the multi-quote button (the one with a plus and a minus in the bottom righthand corner of each post) until i'm done reading, then i hit "post reply" and all the quotes are listed in my reply. the quote will have
in all caps at the beginning and end and then you just insert your text under each quote. i hope that makes sense!

No she hasn't. She is 21, and I know it will be something she will remember forever. I went with my senior class (a LOOOONNNNNG time ago) and I can remember it like it was yesterday. We were gonna take the kids for fall break last year, but ended up in Disney instead. Not a bad trade in my book. ;) My husband REALLY wants to go, and he was teasing me yesterday that he was planning his solo trip after I get back from Disney. :rotfl2:

Disney or London.....definately not a bad trade! We tend to take London and other UK places for granted I think living over here, we never really take our holidays in this country except for a week at the coast in the summer - our holidays are always planned for abroad so its always nice to see people coming over here and really enjoying it - reminds you just how nice some places are! In fact it makes me want to visit London again! :rotfl:
She will definately remember it forever!

So, when your husband plans his solo trip does that mean you get to do disney again!!:lmao:

Awesome!! I am doing something right for a change! :yay:

I spent my senior year (college) in Barcelona... was the best experience ever! I hope your niece has a great time!

Is it quitting time yet??

I LOVE YOUR ACCENT!

The voice in my head when I read your posts is somewhere between Mary Poppins and Mrs. Weesley...I mean that as a funny compliment. :lmao:

Crystal Lite is a sugar free powdered mix you add to 32 oz. of water. Makes it SO much easier to get the water down. 2 little tubs of it added to a gallon of water. I hope you can find something similar! Our Walmart sells a generic that tastes pretty good but doesn't mix up as well. I have the Pampered Chef mixing pitcher to mix it between glasses.

Aaron or Wisconsin Disney Fan (WIDF) is in charge of the Valentine's challenge. He's good at adding people as we go. If not, we'll let him know on friday (that's when he usually posts the chart).

Where does the time go?? I just can't seem to keep up these days, now that I am no longer DISsing at work! :confused3 I am gonna have to set my alarm for 6:30 so i have time in the morning to check in!

My new job at Allstate really keeps me busy, but the day flies by, which is nice. It is alot more sales than I anticipated, but I am giving it my best shot. ;) I have to remember there is a large bonus next Feb if I can stick with it and bring in business. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone is doing well, as I just have not been able to read everything. I'll try to do that tonight while I am chilling out!

Hav a great night!!!

2 MORE SLEEPS AND WE ARE OFF TO DISNEY!!!!!:cool1: :dance3: :yay: :cheer2:

can ya' tell I'm a little excited? ;) DD is getting excited too! She has never flown, so she is excited about the plane too. Hope she doesn't freak at the last minute like Sandy's daughter. :sad2: I'm thinking she is gonna be fine. :goodvibes Mainly 'cause I don't have any more room in my body to worry about anything else. :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: I'll be happy when I am checking into Pop and saying "yes I'm aldisneygrl", and I would LOVE my room to be in the Lady building. :rolleyes1

My bottled water arrived today, so that will be waiting on me along with my free fridge (thanks to the budget board fridge swaps:thumbsup2 ). I'm still doing :laundy: though. I think we are gonna need another suitcase since it looks like we'll need long sleeves at night, and shorts during the day. Oh, the :laundy: I will have when we get home. :scared: Who cares, we will have been to Disney! :cheer2:
