Disapalooza lodging help needed

We were so excited today because we decided my DH could make it for the big event but we can't find lodging (even with our DVC points) anywhere for the big event? What are others doing? If we go through Dreams Unlimited are they holding a block of rooms or something? Want to stay on property to keep rental car costs at bay. Any help MUCH appreciated.

I don't know, the only thing they had was a suite at AKL for 375 a night, YIKES! He's going to call DVC to see if there is ANYTHING with our points tomorrow, otherwise we'll call Dreams Unlimited, do they have any blocks of rooms or discounted rates worked out?

Pop Warner, plus other podcasts/Disney internet communities are still doing get togethers. There hasn't been good availability for a few weeks now. I sincerely hope the OP gets a DVC property, but there have been people on waitlists for months for that time frame.

Have you tried playing around with the dates? I originally tried December 10-15 and nothing was available but when I tried the 11th - 15th, the moderates were becoming available and when I tried the 12th-15th, almost everything was open. I don't know what it's like now, but a couple of weeks ago, it worked.

I called a few days ago and they had 1 BRs available at some DVC resorts.

Yup, no mods or values coming up for 12/10-12/13. Also, rates at Dolphin are $179/night. I need something much cheaper if there's a chance I'll pull this off. I'll have a car, but those self-parking rates are going to add a chunk to my weekend for sure.
Have you tried mousesavers? Mary has some hotels that are working. Haven't checked DU offsite hotels yet, but that's next.

I sent Dreams a quote request yesterday too. I have not heard back yet, but DVc just had one bedrooms at OKW and Saratioga. When I called Disney they only had suites left at mod and no value.

I am hoping to hear back from Dreams soon. I wish you luck.

The lesson learned from this is just believe that John will do amazing things and book well in advance..

Just for the heck of it, I checked availibility on some of the DTD hotels. All have availibility. And I saw a rate for The Royal Plaza of $60 a night.

I was originally going to stay only for the Saturday night and have Pop Century booked for that night. Now with the news of the presentation on Friday, I booked an off-site hotel, but still hoping to get something on-site for Friday night.

Where did you get that quote for $60? Best I've found for that hotel is $71

I was able to get a confirmation at Disney's Pop Century through hotels.com for a pretty decent rate. It seems they have a block of rooms.

I also booked last minute for DAP. I am on a waiting list at DVC. Dreams Unlimited did have availabilty at Saratoga. I went throught Orbitz and got the Caribean Beach for $676 for four nights

Thanks! I just got POP for $74/night perferred section on Hotels.com!

Its crazy, I've been trying to go through Disney for two months! I didn't realize Hotels.com bought rooms up like that.
