Disagreeing with husband

Is your dh good with cars? The reason I ask is, the car is an 88 regardless of crash history. My dh can repair almost anything on a car, so I would trust him to maintain a car of that era.

However, if your dh isn't then she needs a relatively newer car. The crash history adds another layer of uncertainty.

Yes, my husband is good at everything actually.

Just want to say I appreciate the men weighing in- even though most disagree with me. They are saying exactly what my husband is saying, the conversations between female posters and male posters are just like the conversations at my house.

Don't be too sure. My dh would never let my dd's drive a car without airbags, period.

He would consider the Nova his car and only let her drive in an emergency.

What I was saying was BamaFan and Hercules sound just like my husband- their arguments are his arguments.

I understand their argument, believe me. However perhaps they have not have had accidents or head on collisions in their families. Or deer that run into the road.

Here it is common and you are a fool to have your teen drive without airbags. We drive on 2 lane roads in the bluffs/country roads where getting clipped is very common.

And on top of that have of the cars are BIG honking trucks like the 4x4's and 250's and on the hwys we are tractor trailer city.

So, I guess that is where I am coming from, just so you understand.

For example my 19yodd drove 3hrs home from college last night on a dangerous stretch of HWY. Makes me nervous everytime.

Picking up dd's "new car" tomorrow. It's a 1997 Toyota Avalon, power everything- moonroof, auto start, etc. She's really happy, and so am I! The price was right and she even has $$ left over. Her Dad checked it out and thinks it's good and sound. The Nova will go to the junkyard, where they will give us $300 for it.

I'm so glad this is over! :thumbsup2
