Hi

My partner and I are both disabled and get dla, he has a blue badge for parking. I have to use crutches to walk and cant really stand for any length of time.

I noticed a post on here about getting a pass from central hall, what i want to ask is will his blue badge be enough with our dla letters or will we need doctors notes as well, it just our doctors would charge us for them.

hiya
for ur dh, am pretty sure the blue badge shud be ok, but u will need a letter for u as dla letter is not acceptable - u need something that tells of why you are unable to queue normally....
will u want 2 passes?? not sure how many of u there are, but the pass will let thru disabled person and up to 7 others, dependant on ride.
hth

thanks for that info, there are 3 adults and 2 kids in our party so we should be ok with just the one pass.

The Guest Assistance Card is issued by town hall and I did bring a Dr. letter written within the past 3 months. The crowds were low and we didn't use the GAC but had it for insurance. I don't know about Paris but there is a limit on many people can assist the person with the GAC.

There should be wheelchair entrances for most rides.

We use the card. We take a Dr's letter less than 3 months old just to be on the safe side. Nearly all rides have wheelchair access - just ask the cast member. There is disabled seating reserved for shows and parades. We have always found staff very helpful.
City Hall is just inside the entrance and the pass will be valid for the length of your visit.

Have a great time!

Was just there, and went through the whole Disabled Pass routine, and found out that there are THREE different kinds:
One is the "green" pass, which I had (from the US, and took the required less than 90-day-old MD note, stating my condition), was also asked if it was "temporary or permanent", and had to go the the Fast Pass person to have one hand written each time (some were 5 minutes later and others were for 4 HOURS later), was allowed to have my partner with me, and later found out that there was a little "Mickey" stamp the put on it which allowed me some additional perks.
There is the other pass for people with things like broken legs, which means that they can not exit certain rides if the need arises, and so they would not even be allowed on those, should they want to.
And the "pregnant woman" pass- it seems in France, there is a law that says that pregnant women can't be made to stand, so they also get to bypass lines!! The catch here is that they can only have ONE person with them, so if there is another child, for instance, that wouldn't work.

Not much of this makes any sense, and it is arbitrarily enforced- it depends upon who writes the pass, and who is enforcing the rules in areas such as parade viewing sites. One evening, I saw a man in a scooter told that only ONE of his 3 family members could be with him, while five minutes later the same CM let in a woman with 6 others along with her!!! The night before, there were as many members of a party as who wanted to come in allowed, and one of those very TALL, able-bodied men proceeded to stand in front of me, taking pics with his three cameras!! I had been on the bench for 30 minutes prior and can not stand up to view the parade. When I asked the CMs of they could please have the man move to stand with HIS party,, I was told that I SHOULD stand there as he had a right to be where he pleased!!!
Also, expect to breathe plenty of second-hand smoke while there, because they refuse to enforce the no-smoking rules (there ARE designated spots), siting France's rule which is supposed to say that people can't be told not to smoke outdoors wherever they wish!!
Let me just say that as a person with a mobility problem, I have NEVER been treated so poorly by CMs in Disney parks on 3 continents!! When forced into the back seat on a ride, which was impossible because of my knee-brace, and then seeing the vehicle in back of us go off entirely empty after I was told that I must sit where told, a man in Guest Services (his name in Alpha, so avoid him!!) took my handicapped pass, folded it up and told me,"IF you don't like it, fold up your pass and stand in the regular queue". Can you believe that???? The next day, I was told that was wrong (and the little Mickey stamp added to my pass), but, again, you really need to stand up for yourself at Disneyland Paris!! They don't make it easy for you...

i think that there are more passes than that lol i know that the green pass doesnt always have a mickey stamp on it, and also depends on the colour of the mickey stamp!!

i 'think' the 'most access' pass u can get is green card, with black mickey stamp..... i know ive heard of other coloured stamps, but that was a while ago lol

and yes, we have had similar probs in disabled areas for parades, where my boys have been moved out of the way for a person in a wheelchair AND their able bodied partner - ok yes, for the wheelchair, but not for the able bodied..... but i wont rant lol most of the time, the cms are very good, and ive had some that have gone out of their way for us, and remembered us at other times :goodvibes

scampbunny, regarding the "three" types of passes, I don't know if that's the exact truth, but it's what we were told by a gentleman who claimed to be "in charge" at the Guest Services desk. I'm not sure about anything I was told, to be honest with you, especially after the "selective enforcement" of the rules that I saw...

it often seems like the rules are made up and used as and when they feel like it! lol

i know there must be lots of types, as theres lots of types of ppl with special needs, some just need extra help, and others like my ds (and u i guess) are unable to queue, and so need to get on the ride without the waiting....

all i can say is, glad im not the one who has to decide lol

they are worth it tho - i know without ours wud wudnt be able to manage
