are there any disabled spots closer to the blocks/rooms at resorts than others?

At okw-I think maybe we were spoiled as we were very close.
At cbr-we didn't have any disabled parking near our room.

1) At non-Deluxe resorts, Handicapped Parking is pretty much scattered.
2) At some resorts, the parking is closer to the "block" sidewalks, at others, not so much.
3) Plus, there is a limited number of spaces.

It fills up fast too! :(
Depends on the resort and the location of your room as to how close you will think parking is. The resorts I stay at, some bldgs are definitely more conducive to parking than others!! I also have learned what parts of the bldg are better to be in if you have a car. The hard part is it is a bit of trial and error. This is for values and moderates. Deluxes for the most part just have a huge parking lot and basically you walk no matter where your room is. The bonus to deluxe is they have valet parking and that is free with a HC tag but you should always tip the valet!! Not sure how much this answered your question but hopefully it helped a little.

There are images of the resort maps online - you can check those to see which buildings are close to parking lots. Then you can make a request to get that building. But if you are also requesting an accessible room, it might not be possible to meet all requests.

Handicapped parking spaces are required to be located to get the plate/placard holder out of the flow of traffic, but not necessarily into the building/venue/public area, etc., as quickly and safely as possible. Technically, the spaces just need to be adjacent to a sidewalk or other traffic-protected walkway.

At Pop Century, the parking lot we tend to use has handicap spots near the buildings, but there is a need to cross on a crosswalk to get to the sidewalk. I always found it odd that they put the spots there, as the area needing to be crossed is heavily trafficked by the laundry carts, landscaping, service vehicles, etc. I guess it was the best area they could find, but it is a bit tricky to get from the HP parking to safety.
