Hello, I am thinking of joinning DVC. I know they are Accessable. Has any one had any problems reserving a room with the special needs(roll in shower)? From what I have been told there are only a few per resort.

Any other problems I should know before i join..??

Thanks

Ron K.

When you make your ressie through MS you will let them know you need a wheel in shower and they will contact special request and you will get the needed room. The only problem I think you would have would be making last minute reservations. Susan

I booked a 2 bdrm HC accessible (roll-in) shower at my 11 month window. They just put you on hold for a couple of minutes. When I got my confirmation in the mail, it is printed right on it. :)

FWIW, we get lots of complaints from people who get the HA rooms and don't want them. I don't recall ever reading a complaint from someone who wanted one and didn't get it.

As others have said, requests for HA rooms are noted on the confirmation. The resorts pre-assign these rooms before they assign any other reqeusts.

Best wishes -

They are booked directly, not just a request. And at this time there are more than needed as a rule though that can change in the future as the membership ages.

Just make sure that there is that you are put on hold while Special Services "locks" that room for you and double check your reservation.

But you can't get an accessible room unless there is general availability at the resort so call as early as you can just as you would for a regular room.
