Hi everyone:goodvibes

Hope you are all well. After a lengthy spell of illness and other personal faimily problems, I let my diet get the best of me. I unfortunatly put back on all of the 2.5 stone I lost, and a bit more.:confused3 I am currently waiting to have an operation but I am so fed up of feeling so unhealthy again, I have decided to re start the Dis Weight loss group every week if you are interested.:flower:

If you are dieting or not, please feel free to join in the discussion every week, if no one is interesed at the moment thats also ok, as I will be posting on here anyway every week for my benifit to keep a track of how I am doing, so pop in anytime you like for an update or a chat!.:thumbsup2

I am back on Slimming World this week, and my first weigh in is tonight, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

I have just purchased a new Fitbit Alta as well, so if you have a fit bit and you would like to be my friend so you can join in with a weekly step challanges, let me know.

Hope you are all good, and speak soon :chat:

I dont use a fitbit or anything fancy like that. I was recently diagnosed with Hypothyroidism (much to my relief). I have always been a small eater, and while I didn't always eat the best, I was always active. When I hit a plateau at 111KG (245lbs for you yanks) while actively seeing a dietician, I insisted that the Doc look harder. I am an avid runner/jogger and at the time I was running between 10-20km a week while eating properly (and at a calorie deficit) without even making a dent in the scale. The dietician suggested a specialist, and the rest as they say is history.

The moral of the story is, if you are doing things right, there may be something wrong. Although don't assume there is something wrong immediately because 95% of people who think they have a problem actually do not. If you have been taking the right steps for a significant amount of time (in my case almost 2 years) go get tested!

I have started to lose weight slowly which is awesome, although I think my meds need to be tweaked as I have only lost 5lbs in 6 weeks (I should have lost 10 or more).

Doc says I need to drop at least 5kg (I'm 190cm or somewhere around 6'3) in order to be in a happy range. I am hoping to drop a bit more than that just because I am gearing up to start doing half marathons (I want to do my first Disney run in 2018)

Anyways I am right there with you OP, fighting the good (expensive) fight against weight.

Good luck I am rooting for you!

I'm joining! I had a gastric band put in 2 years ago and I lost 40kg in the first 6/7 months but the weight loss has totally stalled since then. I've not regained any but I'm really struggling to lose anymore and my target weight is another 30kg away.

Got a wedding in October I'd really like to get in better shape for. Maybe checking in here will keep me on the path

Congrats!! Nice loss!!

A small update: I hit my initial goal weight in May:jumping1::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:, and I am now working on a weight range, my initial goal weight has now become the figure I absolutely do not want to go over. I now have 0.2 lbs to lose for an overall weight loss of 50% of my starting weight. I won't be going any lower than that as I feel that gives me the best range for my height/age. Maintenance is proving much more challenging than dieting!:confused3

Have a good week!

Wow!! Cathy you have done amazing! You must be so pleased with yourself:jumping1:

When I got to target weight, maintaining it was much harder than I antisipated, so you are right maintenance is hard but I am sure you will do it, well done!:jumping1:

I'm just stopping by to wish you all well. I lost 3 stone last year and have put back every single pound. I'm going on holiday very soon so it's not really a good time to start trying to lose weight. I will join you all when I get back.
