HI ALL!
Just requested my Disney Dream Rewards Dollars (DDRDs) from Disney Visa , the only fly in the soup was , the restriction statement by the Visa Rep.
She told me that there was restrictions on the DDRD Card at WDW. When asked which ones? She said the merchants or vendors were on a floating list that changes all the time and is not available?
Has anyone run into restictions on using the DDRD's Card?

I suggest a permanent thread where Disboard Members can express their current experiences with the DDRD's Card restrictions.

I requested my card yesterday and wasn't told of any restrictions.
What do you mean by restrictions? Meaning only certian places will accept them as payment?

We used ours two weeks ago and had no problems anywhere. We used it at the Poly, inside the parks, and at DTD. Anywhere that accepted a cc accepted the rewards card. The receipt even told me the balance on the card.

We had no trouble, used the rewards card at counter service in AK, a beer cart vendor in epcot, and sit down restaurants in AKL, Epcot and CR. It seems that any place that takes credit card accepts the rewards card. Any vendor who is cash only doesn't have a swipe-y thing to put the card through. I assume that is why the list is always changing and not concrete.

I did run into one cashier who had never seen the card and wasn't sure how to handle it. She ask a manager, who knew exactly, so it was just a brief delay.

This was at the Disney Welcome Center in Ocala FL.

I was told some time ago that they don't put out lists of the places that take the card because some locations may be closed for rehab, etc. at any given time, so they can't guarantee them on a list. Also was told it's accepted anywhere in the parks, that accepts credit cards and is owned by Disney. Some places not owned by Disney might take them (like in DTD and Epcot), but you have to ask first, just to be sure.

Hope that helps. :D

Another alternative if you're staying in the park is to apply your reward dollars to your room account when you check in. Then as you charge things to your room it will automatically come off the total. We did this in September with no problems whatsoever.

I read somewhere that when you use it to pay for a purchase, they round up to the next whole dollar. This will cost you in a very short amount of time.

Can I pay the cents in cash and just use my card for the whole dollars? May sound like a really cheapskate question, but if I'm working this hard for those dollars, I wanna spend 'em! princess:

I'll have to go back and dig out receipts, but I never saw anything to indicate they round off anything. The receipts they gave me showed the amount deducted and the amount remaining on the card. I could almost swear that there were cents listed on both.

Maybe the person who told you this is confused and is thinking of the rewards you receive. I believe those ARE in whole dollars.

Before when they issued the paper reward certificates in 10.00 or 20.00 increments they would not provide change for these. So if you bought something for 8.50, you used 10 reward dollars. This has changed since they implemented the reward card.
