Will I look out of place?

I think you have my blue Panasonic Lumix!
Did you get any good photos for me?

Hey - that's my favorite restroom in the background...the closest one to Off Kilter's stage! :thumbsup2

One of my favorites too -

A few years ago during F&W festival - the day before hurricane Wilma blew through Orlando - my husband & I found refuge under the archway during the start of the storms preceeding the hurricane.
We huddled ther for quite sometime - a nice couple from the UK joined us.

We took turns running across to Rose & Crown for "refreshments"

GOOD TIMES........;)

I think UK DISers should get first dibs! ;)

I haven't listened to the show yet, but had the whole DLP thing ruined by a different podcaster on facebook. After reading that it would be a ABD trip, and since I can't afford an ABD trip, and grew up a Londoner, I would have no need for a ABD trip, so would a well timed trip to DLP be a option?

September/ October might be difficult for me, but I will just meet you guys at a weekend, wherever you happen to be! (Preferably London or DLP)

Because saying "oh....I got this in Paris" never gets old.

Especially to you! :lmao: I saw the way you looked at my Disneyland Paris pin!

Oh, my, how will you get around this one:

I can't recall when I have ever met the "clean, coordinated look" standard.

Honestly, I doubt it will be warm enough in September/ October to wear shorts, but you never know! Even then, walking around with Adventures by Disney will give the game away anyway! Wear what you feel confortable in, and don't worry about what the frenchies think!

Even if we can't afford it I'm sure we could plan a trip to DLRP for around the same time and wave at you guys while you do your tour

:thumbsup2 Your very own British cheering section!

I think shorts and Crocs are A-OK in London! :woohoo:

Pretty much! A lot of people wear them if it's warm, but it rarely is!

Will you look like a tourist? Or do Londoners dress in Crocs and shorts?

Only if it's warm- mostly it's jeans!

Sent my email & subbing here for info.....

Would love to do ABD Backstage Magic podcast addition too...but we already did this in Dec 08. It was fabulous & I'd love to do it again, but not sure I can talk my hubby into redoing it (only because of cost).

I didn't go on the podcast ABD trip because of the same reasons.
(I still think we had a fabulous time!)

I think you need to talk Eric into saving the pennies for the Europe one. I hope to go if the dates don't interfere with my work schedule blackout dates.

We'd love to do this ABD, just not sure if '11 will work. We always said our first trip to Europe would be with our son and Sept/Oct wouldn't work for us. We'll see how things play out??

Joining in.

Years ago, Gwyneth Paltrow was on Oprah. She described one of her favorite memories of her father. Her father took her to Paris when she turned 13. My husband and I decided we wanted to take such a trip with our children. Three of my kids were adopted internationally, so their trip destinations will be there birth country. It's ironic, but my dh and I have been discussing where to take our eldest son next year for his solo parent trip. My husband's family is German, my family is French.

As soon as I heard of the ABD trip I thought it would make a perfect trip for my son. Maybe we could add a couple of days in Germany.

Any Diser thinking about bringing a teenager?

I am so loving reading this thread- so much fun making plans. :cloud9:
I hope everyone who really wants to, gets to go.
I hope WE get to go. DH and I were each already checking out airfares! :rotfl: Wow! They will add significantly to the bottom line.

Also, we can only even consider this if it is in October (or later).
DH's job operates on a fiscal year vacation schedule- his starts Oct 1st. So this would fit into his 2011-12 vacation calendar. But if it's in September, that goes into his 2010-11 vacation calendar- and we already have the PCC2.0 trip in there, plus a possible trip to Cubs spring training in March. (he really doesn't get much time at all). My vacation time is rolling- no deadlines or use it or lose it to worry about! :thumbsup2

Kevin- I enjoyed the 10 Things Not to do in Paris!! But I'm bringing MY Crocs!:thumbsup2

Lori....we did have a fabulous time & I wouldn't trade that trip for the world!!!!! AND I'm already working on Eric!

DLRP in October would be great as you get to see all the Halloween decorations.

From the sounds of the tour I think it would be better to have the Paris portion and then DLRP, skip the London bits (but then I've seen all that before anyway!)

Even if we can't afford it I'm sure we could plan a trip to DLRP for around the same time and wave at you guys while you do your tour

I agree with this appoach!

Will you look like a tourist? Or do Londoners dress in Crocs and shorts?

It WILL be mighty chilly in October in London, so shorts may not be the best idea. My sister wears Crocs all year round here (even in the winter), so thats not an issue!

I did actually realise that October would be the beginning of my 3rd year of uni :scared1: I'm sure they won't mind if I "disappear" ;)

I will also add that I'm mightily interesting in meeting all you guys, since I've never been to a meet, or the Podcast Cruise. It would probably be especially nice to meet the UK DISers!

Sent in my email and subbing to this thread. I'm new to the podcast touring group, but will be going on the Podcast 2.0 cruise with my mom (birthday/christmas gift) in December. I have been to Europe, but never London, and I only flew into and out of Charles DeGualle in Paris on my way to and from Greece. Pretty sure my photo is up somewhere there, telling them to just put me on a plane. I got very frustrated, after my eight hour flight with no sleep, to find out that I didn't have to remove my shoes for security, eventhough that airport is the reason why we have to do that in American now. Fun Times!

Oh these boards are the devil! I have been dying to go to Paris and this is sounding much too good. So good, in fact, that I want to extend the stay in Paris or a week in a cute little furnished apartment and get a real feel of the city!! Now, I am off to buy multiple a lottery tickets...

We stayed in a furnished studio apt. in Paris for 3 nights last month. We rented it through Vacation in Paris: http://www.vacationinparis.com/ (Ours was #38 "Louvre Loft")

That looks like a great way to stay in Paris - and very affordable!!!

We really loved our little apartment! It was located 1/2 block from a market street (Rue Montorgueil), and we enjoyed shopping for bread, cheese, fruit, etc. like a true Parisienne - except we could barely speak any French! :teeth:

Paris is a very walkable city, and we were within a 15-20 minute walk of the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Latin Quarter, shopping at Galleries Lafayette, etc! Besides doing the usual touristy things like going to museums, taking a river cruise, and going to the top of the Eiffel Tower, the highlight for me was our 3.5-hour bike tour: www.bikeabouttours.com.
