Frozen was fun, and I enjoyed talking about it on our last show. I'll post pics later.

I listened to the Frozen Fun segment. Good info - thanks.

If any other DISers that have stayed at Hotel Menage would like to share their thoughts, I would appreciate it. :thumbsup2

A couple of random thoughts in no particular order:

Hotel Menage review:
THANK YOU so much for this and all the other hotel/motel reviews that you guys do! I find it so helpful since we live in another state and always have to stay somewhere close by when we go to DL. It sounds like your room was a real dud!

Re: Magic Bands coming to DL:
I totally agree with everyone's comments on the Podcast. Magic Bands & FP+ are big reasons why we haven't taken the time, money, & effort to go to WDW. Our family likes to plan ahead, but not enough that we'd want to reserve rides months ahead of time!

Thanks for the show! I have a few things to add/note to your Frozen Fun reporting. We were in the parks (on an epic vacation) the 21-25 and got to experience some of the early offerings for frozen fun.

  • The "Do you want to draw a snowman" animation academy had us draw Marshmallow, not Olaf. Not sure if they alternate between the two or not.
  • The Frozen Sing Along fast passes we received were connected to the fast pass network for all the rides as well. The pass did not say this on it, we learned about it when we went to Tower of Terror just after getting our passes and it locked us out until the recommended return time to queue up for the sing a long. I thought it must be an error and asked three different cast members (one at ToT and two at Frozen) before I got a very nice gent with answers. He explained that yes, it is connected to the rides and he thought it would continue to be. He said that the pass should say that the time that you could get another fast pass and was shocked that it did not. He said they would work on fixing the passes to give the time for a new pass, but I dont know if that has changed since or not.
  • The waiting room inside the sing along theater was a bit of a messy experience. At the showing I attended about 30% of people were sitting on the ground waiting, but at the later showing my sister-in-law attended the cast members were telling people that they were not allowed to sit and they had to stand. There was an announcement being broadcast periodically about getting a restroom pass if you needed to leave and stating when they would let us into the theater, but it was extremely hard to hear over the roar of the crowd. Some people were even trying to shoosh others so they could hear. It made me wish for the scrolling Muppet text sign!!

A few other notes...

We had someone who uses a cane in our party, and guest services advised us to the get return times at each ride exit in Disneyland park (not California). They scanned our park tickets, just like Michael described, and gave us a verbal return window. When we came back they scanned our tickets and sent us up through the exit of the ride. The return time was typically just a bit shorter than the standby time and we could have that in addition to our fastpasses. We could only have one active ride return time at once though and would have to release an unused one if we tried to get a new one at another ride. In Fantasyland you do not go to the exit of each ride, there is an umbrella/kiosk between Dumbo and the Storyland Boats where you go to check in for any ride in Fantasyland.

We had a mostly positive experience for the Fantasmic Blue Bayou package when we did it on Christmas Eve. I agree with the slow service (we were actually a few minutes late to the start of the show!) but our food was all pretty dang good. My surf and turf portion was smaller than I would have liked, but both the steak and the lobster were delicious. Our seat cushions were thin and basic, but they worked. I did not like that they were waiting for us when we arrived at the table, so we had to sit on them during dinner or put them as backrests. We were able to find our area very easily, but I don't think it is a fair comparison to others because the show had started and nearly everyone in the area was still instead of moving around like a sea of humans.

We did the WB Studio Tour during our trip and loved it. I had been myself about a year ago and wanted to share it with my family on this trip. It was different than the previous time, but that was primarily because of the lack of filming happening during the holidays. It is well worth the cost, especially with the discount mentioned on the show!

Finally...Tony, when you do your breakfast segment I hope you touch on the fact that you can not only get breakfast bread bowls but also soup at breakfast in DCA! We really enjoyed soup (on the side thanks to Nancy's tip!) and our bread bowls with butter. It was a quiet spot for breakfast, even an hour after rope drop during the holidays.

Thanks all :)

When I went the room was clean and respectable. It was like a motel room renovated to try to feel classy without spending too much money. Nothing special, but I had no complaints either.

The pool was fantastic, and definitely the high point of our stay!!

We walked from the hotel to the park. It was right on the edge of being walkable for my family. A little long, especially going uphill at the end of the day, but not unbearable.

Ahh, thanks for your insight. This was really good.

I'm thinking of going again this weekend to see how they tweak things further, and also to check out the new Fantasy Faire Frozen show.
