It would be interesting to see Disney take a big step here, and pull these channels from Youtube, and instead place them on Disney+. After all they already have the live stream channels and ability to do local channels through Hulu.

Priced right, it could stifle google's growth in this space, open up new advertising revenue streams, and force a conversation if bundled cable subscriptions have a place any more. There doesn't seem like a great reason Peacock, Disney+/Hulu, and Paramount+ couldn't fill this need while generating revenue for people who want to pay ala cart for their local affiliate, exclusive sports, and streaming their favorite shows on demand.

I would love to see the Disney owned linear cable cahnnels mirrored on D+ and Hulu.

One recent change at Fubo: they've created a "skinny bundle" with just sports. Unlike most others, it is almost everything in one place. No Turner networks (bad for baseball and basketball fans), and BeIn does not carry over (international soccer mostly). I almost never watch "not sports" on it, so I am thinking of dropping down. Just haven't pulled the trigger yet. It does not have NBC, but I have Peacock by virtue of getting internet through comcast.

I'd suggest local smaller providers are luring people away with similar levels of services with significantly lower pricing. For example, I recently left spectrum for a smaller local group. My bill went from over $90 a month to $35 - plus I got 2 months free, and $200 gift card after 4 months. Plus my speed went from 400mb -> 1gb.

Spectrum didn't budge until I told them I'd signed with the other provider - then they still refused to cut as low.

And here I want a skinny bundle with everythign but the sports!

I actualyl did jsut pull the trigger and cancel DirecTV. I am going to go with Disney+/Hulu and a Tablo over-the-air DVR. I was essentially paying 85 bucks a month for background noise and reruns of Simpsons/Bob's Burgers/Family Guy, minus a few FX series. All that's on Hulu (hardly ever watched broadcast Simpsons since that one is on D+). Adding Hulu will cos tme an additional 50 bucks a year - hard to beat that.

This is a bit anecdotal but with unlimited plans and 5G speeds a lot of people just use their phone for everything.

Quantum/Centurylink in my city. No one I know *wants* to use Xfinity - sometimes it is all that is offered in their area though. As soon as fiber is available from anyone else they jump ship.
