DIS RESTAURANT BOARD CONTEST! - Can You Make Us Laugh?

Congratulations to the winners. Since the contest is over, I'm going to share my funny story:

I went to Boma a couple of years ago with a couple of DISers (hi Bavaria and KatyPop). We were enjoying a lovely meal. The food was quite good--some of it a bit odd for my taste, but most of it very good.

So, I go up to the buffet to get another plate of food, and I just couldn't resist the kids section of the buffet. So, I take a chicken strip, and some macaroni and cheese. I go back to the table, and take a bite of the macaroni and cheese and realize that it's not very good. It was just very bland. It wasn't very cheesey.

So, me being me, I start joking around with Bavaria and Katypop. I tell them that it wasn't the best macaroni and cheese I've ever had, and that it just isn't very good. Well, the waiter happened to be walk by to check up on us, and I jokingly complain about the macaroni and cheese.

The waiter didn't catch on that I was joking, so next thing you know, he brings a chef over to talk to me about the macaroni and cheese. The chef tells me he wanted to see if everything was all right because our waiter told him that I wasn't happy with the macaroni and cheese. I told the chef that it wasn't the best macaroni and cheese I've ever had--it just wasn't cheesey enough. The chef caught on pretty quickly that I was joking around, but we spent close to 10 minutes talking about the macaroni and cheese.

Next thing you know, the waiter brings us over a tray of truffles that says "Welcome to Boma." It had gummi bears and Mickey sprinkles on it. It was pretty neat looking. It had little disc chocolates with zebras and giraffes on them.

I then went up to the buffet again to get some fruit and dessert. One of the other chefs walks over to me and asks if everything is all right. I said, "Did you hear about me?" She says she didn't hear anything about me. I said, "When you came over to make sure everything was all right, I figured that you heard about the person who jokingly complained about the macaroni and cheese." The chef we had talked to about the mac and cheese came over, and we joked around about it. He also dragged the chef who actually made the macaroni and cheese over as well.

As I left Boma, I saw a manager, so I told him that I love his staff--especially Chef Mike and Waiter Victor. I told him I was the woman who was jokingly complaining about the macaroni and cheese.

Overall, my experience at Boma was very interesting (both the food and the mac and cheese incident). I'll have to try it again sometime, but next time, I'll skip the mac and cheese.

This incident is more of a safety warning than a funny story so for the sake of guest relations and to help everyone have a safe dinner, let me begin.

My wife and I went to Walt Disney World and happened to be there over Easter Sunday. We made the trip with another couple who were together at the parks for the first time. Each couple went their separate ways during the day but in the evenings we got together to have dinner and talk about our experiences we had had. This particular day we had reservations at Chef Mickey’s. As it was Easter, the dining room was packed. We arrived and waited to be seated and watched as all of the children appeared in their Easter outfits while the mothers donned their Easter bonnets. It was a pastel overload of color throughout the restaurant. Our names were called and we were seated by a very nice young man. Since there were four of us and it was the busiest time of the dinner hour we were placed at a table in the middle of the room. We began the buffet going to get our salad and returning to the table. About this time the music began announcing that the characters were going to make their appearance shortly. Guests all around us reached for their cloth napkins and began waving them emergetically in circles above their head to the beat of the music. Since my wife and I had been to Chef Mickey’s before I too began to wave my napkin. Our dining guests had no idea what was happening. As I waved my napkin I explained that this was tradition and that Mickey would appear and dance before visiting tables and that the napkin waving helped everyone get into the mood. My friend wanted desperately to fit in so he reached for his napkin and began waving it frantically above his head. Unfortunately, he missed one small step. He forgot to remove his silverware first. As he started swinging his napkin, knives, forks, and spoons began to be hurled with great force from our table. Everyone including myself dove for cover under the table. A teaspoon hit Goofy in the head but fortunately did not do any damage. I think the 4 of us hid under the table for nearly half the meal afraid to come out and face our fellow diners. The rest of our trip we ate counter service and only used plastic utensils.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: This one is great!! I can just picture it in my head!!! I have loved all of these - I thought the guy asking Belle for more bacon was too funny!!! :rotfl: And the p**py underwear in the pocket!!! WHAA!!!!

WE HAD BREAKFAST AT 1900 PARKFARE AND OUR DAUGHTER Was sooooo excited to be meeting Mary Poppins we waited in line and then before it is her turn the penguin shows up :guilty: oh boy the moment was over --to be 2 1/2 ---and that huge penguin  she screamed and needless to say the penguin hid in the corner and Mary Poppins bless her heart tried her best to get a picture for our daughter.......she is 31/2 now and everytime we watch Mary Poppins she remembers her experience................ :rolleyes1 :sad2:

Let me just start out by saying that our entire trip was kind of like a Griswold family vacation - everything that could go wrong did!!

We were a group of 9 visiting WDW in September 2005. We scored dinner reservations at CRT the 2nd night of our 5 night stay. Needless to say, trying to get everyone together at the same time for anything was a small miracle, and we were late for our reservation.

We had 2 two year-olds travelling with us, and they were not happy on this night - they were tired, cranky and very, very hungry. We finally made it upstairs and to our table. About 15 minutes into dinner I smell something, and it's not the beef medallions I ordered!! I take my DS(2) to the bathroom only to discover that he had a blow-out p**pie diaper. His shorts, his shirt, his socks, everything soiled!! I had brought the bag with the diapers and wipes into the restaurant, but not the one with the extra clothes. I ended up throwing everything in the trash, and my DS starts screaming because he (unlike most other 2 year-olds ) wants his clothes back on!

So, much to the surprise of Cinderella and the rest of her guests in the castle lobby, my mostly naked and screaming DS and I make a mad dash through the lobby and out to the stroller for clean clothes. I could hear the people in the lobby laughing and snickering as we passed them. I was mortified!!

Looking back now, it was pretty funny - and a priceless experience!! I only wish that I had pictures!!!

I don't know why this struck me as so funny, perhaps too many hours in front of my pc, but I was crying & couldnt get my breath. I was laughing so hard!! It was one of those things that kept coming back to me & dh was looking at me like i'd just lost my mind!
