I'm curious, why did the prices go up? Was it some legislation (a couple of years ago wasn't there some sort of royalty thing, I remember hearing ads on Live365 about it) that had passed or did Live365 jack up their rates?

the radio legislation was about artists and record labels getting paid for play and was big news in 07 and 08....i cannot find anything with a recent date on it concerning this.

Yeah, that was it and I'd like to know if that's why their costs have gone up. Orrrr, maybe Dis Radio was so popular that it was taking up a bunch of Live365 bandwidth and they raised the price?

I remember hearing Mike Newell from Mouse World Radio and WDWToday talking about getting rid of his Disney music station, but he just revamped it so it must be staying.

The cost increase has nothing to do with Live365 per se, more listeners cost more money and it's grown A LOT in the last 12 months.

So the popularity of the station ended up causing the increase in costs, which lead it to be unfeasable to pay for. That's bad news for Live365.

I think orginally when you started this site you went to some of your business partners (or they came to you) to help front the cost of the bandwidth. Can you do the same here? Wouldn't somebody like Gaylord Palms be willing to put some money up for advertising?

Just saying, and totally understand also if you don't want to do that. You're the captain of the SS DisRadio.

DisRadio Sponsorship? Hmmm. I would do 30 or 40 a year or even a lifetime membership.

DIS Radio is awesome! I would be more than happy to listen to ads as long as it stayed on the air. Thank you guys so much for keeping the service up so long ad-free, and for providing such a fantastic outlet that offers a Disney fix 24/7.

Add me to the list of those who love and appreciate DisRadio. Some people might meditate, do yoga or have a glass of wine to unwind - I tune in to DisRadio!!

I appreciate all of your efforts to keep this great service going. I'm fine with an ad or two every few minutes. I'm also open to other ideas. I definitely don't want you guys to keep paying for this - esp in this economy.

yippeeeee~ I love Dis Radio- I was having a "missing Disney moment" and went to find Dis Radio to get my fix and then..... Thank you for the update and thank you to the powers that be that decided to keep it around for at least 1 more month! I would be happy to listen to ads if it keeps Dis Radio around!

Woohoo!! I'm so glad that it is back! DisRadio kept me company during my 3 days of labor to get Lillian into the world. I have fond memories of singing to it through the contractions.
I'd be happy to pay a moderate subscription fee to keep it going.

Hi Corey,

Glad to see you are looking at options to continue DIS Radio. I listen to it every day all day when I am at work. It really helps get me through the day. I would be willing to pay a user fee if that would help keep it up and running.

Thanks for all you do for the DIS. Love the new Podcast format. You just never know how a podcast is going to turn out now.
