DIS Radio DIScontinued?

Caught this over in the TP board - DIS Radio has been discontinued as of today? I didn't find any other threads on this (search appears to currently be broken), but the main web page says:

NOTICE!!!
As of 2/15/10, we have decided to discontinue DIS RADIO. Unfortunately, it has become too expensive to maintain.



On the rare occasions at work where I've gone through my plethora of podcasts, DIS Radio got me through Fridays...

Sometime back Pete had posted on facebook that he was looking for someone to take it over as unpaid help. I sent him a note but never heard back.... not that I knew how to run a internet radio station...but I could have learned....

What a shame, I know Pete enjoyed it and it was getting alot of listeners. I loved catching the Tapesty of Nations parade music on there.

Pete asked through his Facebook page if someone locally wanted to take over DisRadio. I don't know if he got any good candidates. This was about a month ago.

I asked about the future of DisRadio here and on the Facebook to Facebook podcast, but it wasn't a chosen question.

I loved the updates they put into the show. They only did that for a few months though. I thought Pete might have run into trouble because they could probably be viewed as advertisement.

A good alternative is the music at http://www.subsonicradio.com/ . I loved the Disney holiday music.

This is very sad. I'm sure MouseWorld Radio is going to gain a lot of new listeners. I think DisRadio was their biggest competetor and now they are gone.

No! Oh, this is so sad. I love listening to this station...helped get me in the mood when a trip was on the horizon, and also helped take me away from reality on bad days (no, I'm not sitting in my cubicle, I'm riding through POTC!)

I had also responded to Pete's request for help with DISRadio and never heard anything...I hoped that meant he'd found someone great and all was OK.

There is MouseWorld Radio thru Live365. If you go to wdwtoday.com on the right side of the page is the link. I preferred DisRadio because live365 has adds if you don't pay for the VIP membership, and I liked the song line up on DisRadio better. I will miss DisRadio. I never thought that when Pete stepped down from running the boards, and the podcast that DisRadio would be affected.
