First off..thanks for reading and responding to this message. I'm still confused if not more confused then when I started planning our vaca at WDW. We would like to go to WDW in March 2003, family of 4 with 2 kids (12,4) I'm pretty settled on ASMo due to using it as a sleep center only. I was told that for the time I wanted to go the Disney Club was offering a discount for 15%. I could get the membership for a discount so it would cost me $29.95 for the year. I know I will save more then that just with the 15% off the room rate. SO it's cost effective...right? I don't shop at The Disney Store much (closest is 30+ miles away) and we don't travel overmuch although I will be renting a car for getting around (I've heard it's easier to drive around WDW then to take busses?) ok, so now I go to the DIS boards and read about joining that for $49.95 a year. What is that? Is that only to help you plan your trip? Sorry for the long post.....

Yes, it is worth it to purchase the Disney Club IF you will be saving more then the cost of the membership.

As for the DC discount on the room, this is limited not garenteed. You can also get a discount on the car rental (through National) but I am not sure I would rent a car if I wasn't going to go off Disney Property. The bussing system will get you anywhere you want to go (though you may have to transfer).

I tried for a DC next NOvember-2003!- and they aren't even available anymore...all booked up.

As for the transportation, we drove and even if we had flown, we would have wanted transportation. The wait for a bus after Epcot closed was a nightmare...

I would even dream of it if I had small kids. It was nice going where we wanted, when we wanted.

DISavers is the club offered by the DIS (not Disney) that gives the member the commission back on their reservation. You research your best price (including Disney Club discount) and submit the price to DISavers. If they are able to obtain that price for you, they book your reservation on the spot. Any commission earned on that reservation is given back to the member. So you not only save with the Disney Club discount, but you also save again with the commission rebate. There is a board on this site dedicated to DISavers questions. It might be helpful to read that board as well.
