Ok all you seasoned DISmeet organizers! Where is the best place to hold a DISmeet? You all did such a wonderful job on the Jan.4th cruise, in the promenade lounge, any more input or help you can give us for the March 1st gang? Thanks in advance!

My personal favorite is behind Topsiders on Deck 9 right after the drill. It is fairly quiet there, because everyone is over at the beginning of the sailaway party.

Good luck!

Kathy

What an excellent place to meet! I think I'm going to use that suggestion for our Halloween 2003 cruise!
Thanks!

Another valid possibility for a Dis meet would be Rae's stateroom.

What worked for us on 12/7 was to meet at the tables outside of Pinocchio's BEFORE the lifeboat drill. That gave us all a quick introduction so that we would recognize each other. :)

Buckaroo's Dad

I'll let Mom know you are joining us!!! We'll have some champagne chilling!

; )

That way you could recognize folks right away. It was relaxed and informal, funnyhow small the ship seemed after that. It seemed I was always seeing Lisa, Michelle, Dagny or Alex somewhere-(Alex usually near the bar:teeth: )

I would suggest this meeting place again for our 12/13

Will everyone have time to finish kid's club check-in, spa/palo ressies, etc??? And have time to go up to deck 9, back for life jackets...

Crusnprincesses, we met at 3:15, 45 minutes before the drill. That gives you plenty of time after boarding to get your reservations and have lunch. We met for about a half hour, then all headed back to our rooms for the life jackets and did the drill at 4:00. It was a short meet, but as Ann said we continued to see each other throughout the cruise. :)

And Ann, sounds good to me! :teeth:

If I recall we had our meet at like 3:15, we were able to do our ressies first, go to the meet, have a quick drink with everyone and get back to our stateroom to get lifejackets. We only stayed like 15mins but it was long enough to then be able to recognize folks and socialize later.

It did work out great on our 12/7 cruise, like Ann said, then we all recognized each other throughout the cruise...and Ann...Alex wasn't the ONLY one near a bar dear!:):) hee hee

Lisa

Well I wondered how I always saw him there...oops I guess that means I was always there:teeth:

Lisa have you talked Doug into 12/13 yet?

No dangnabit...apparently my boys are holding out for an ALASKA cruise of all things! I am sorry, but I am warm weather all the way! If I come solo will you and Michelle and Alex et al...still wanna hang with me?:) It will make our table roomier I suppose.

Lisa

We held ours on the deck overlooking the Goofypool during the sail-away party. This way we didn't miss any of the action. It was great to be able to meet everyone, even only briefly, at the beginning of the cruise. But it was quite noisy. Behind Topsiders sounds like a quiet alternative.

Heck, if you come solo we can just upgrade to a suite and have you stay with us! :)

On the 1/25 sailing, we had our DIS meet in the promenade lounge on Sunday, at 11:30AM. It was great to meet other DIS people and we kept seeing them all week. Since we were two adults cruising alone, it was wonderful having DIS friends all over the ship.

We picked sunday morning, feeling that sat. was to hectic for most of us. Also some of us were first arriving on sat, wanted to get settled in and explore the ship.

My Mom said that we should just wear t-shirts to the Port and around the ship that says, "Hi I'm Rae519" or "I'm with rae519" -
she's not as shy as I thought she was. ; )

On the 1/25 sailing we used lime green ribbon, so we could see who was a DIS boarder. Also, Melissa made name tags for all of us, very nice. THANKS Melissa!!

Sue

Rae - it's redundant for ALL of us to wear a t-shirt saying "Hi I'm Rae519." Perhaps mine could say, "Hi I'm looking for Rae519." lol! Sorry - I couldn't resist.
