I just saw the thread about the MDE App not showing the fireworks dessert party. When we were there in November it didn't show our Keys to the Kingdom tour, and I don't remember if it showed our MVMCP tickets but I'm thinking it didn't.

Is it really that hard to incorporate that into the app? The older I get the less I can rely on my memory, and it would be really nice to have ALL of my vacation plans in one spot.

I entered the info manually into our plans, but you'd think if I bought the ticket/tour/event directly from Disney it would import automatically. The manual entry should be for personal reminders (check in for flight).

The short answer is "yes, it really is that hard to incorporate into any app 'absolute integration of everything that could be related to any non-trivial system'." The long answer is: It may seem from the outside that everything a company does emanates from one information system fed from one database system, etc. No one in the industry I know has ever seen a company like that. Systems integration is always a big part of any effort - building a sub-system that pulls data from disparate sources and/or inter-operates with other sub-systems.

Can it be easier? Yes, but doing so often would require a fascist-like domination by the CIO (or analog) within the enterprise, refusing to support any operations that don't kowtow to the CIO's vision for single platform, single datastore. And in many quarters, the trend is going in the opposite direction, toward more reliance on integration ("microservices" - an architecture of loosely-coupled, independent services) and less reliance on monolithic systems.

A cast member told me Pirates League and BBB don’t let you book via MDE because they want to have a person read you the rules because people won’t read the fine print when booking online. I suppose that means they are on another ‘system’ which may then fall into the pp’s explanation. I’m still not sure why they can’t have a way of migrating that info to MDE after you book. They seem to be going the opposite direction too. I’m pretty sure they used to send you an email confirmation. They don’t do that anymore. All you get is a confirmation number and that’s it.
