Join Ryno and Steve as they take you through the process of making your very own BB-8 pumpkin for this Halloween season. No carving required! Who doesn't want the newest lovable droid from Star Wars: The Force Awakens as a pumpkin? You can also hear these two nerds talk about their thoughts on the newest Star Wars Rogue One trailer. All that and more in this episode of DIS POP!
The SUPPLIES YOU’LL NEED to create this Pumpkin:
1. A pumpkin! - Fake or real. Large or small. You’ll need at least one pumpkin to do this craft. If you’re going to do it the same way as me, I got one regular, daily round, pumpkin and a small oblong shaped pumpkin pie pumpkin.
2. Paint - White, Black, Grey, Orange, Red. You can make grey paint from the black and white paint if you want to limit your purchases. Also, the red paint is only for the dot in BB-8’s eye. It’s not a necessary step. If you want the eyes to be all black, no need to purchase red paint.
3. Paint Brushes - I feel like this one is obvious if you’ve read number 2.
4. Glue - Something tacky or sticky. Elmer’s glue should be okay, however it takes sometime to dry, so be careful when using it to attach BB-8’s eyes. You could also use it to attach the smaller pumpkin to the larger one if you’d like as well.
5. Plastic Bubble for BB-8’s eye - You can use one of the $0.99 plastic ornaments from Michael’s like I did in the video or you could use the $0.25 cent plastic toy containers that you get from gum ball machines at the grocery store. You could also just use a a big pom pom instead. It’s a pumpkin. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be fun to make.
6. Other stuff - Scissors, possibly a knife, and maybe some foam. The foam is to add some detail around the eye. Not a necessity. The scissors are to cut the foam or plastic ornament. The knife is help remove the stem, if needed.
I think that’s everything I used for this tutorial. There may be an easier way, often times there is, but this is how I made my pumpkin and I’m pretty happy with it. I hope you will be happy with yours too!
