So we are WORLD people who would like to try the LAND. But it seems you can't stay on property in the LAND without paying $200a night. Anything nice in walking distance for around $100 a night?

It depends on when you're planning on going. Take a look at the Harbor Blvd hotels. Hojo's, Park Vue, etc.

Take a look at the thread above poster listed. Keep in mind you can walk to the parks faster than Diney Transport in WDW can get you to a gate from about 10-20 hotels in Anaheim. Also if you want suggestion mention what "nice" is to you. For me it's under 10 minutes away and clean and under $100.

I totally agree. It's hard to make recs for the hotels on Harbor unless you know what the person is looking for. We've enjoyed stays at various hotels - from the GCH to the Tropicana ... all for various reasons. If you want to do a budget stay, many of the hotels on Harbor will give you a decent clean room that is in easy walking distance. Some people are more picky when it comes to "nice" though ... they want a nice pool area ... variety of room choices ... "updated" decor ... etc. Some meet 1 or more of those qualifications, some none ... it all depends :confused3

Thank you guys. I would say we are use to pop century, but we know we won't get something that grand for our budget in California. What we really want is CLEAN. We can not do dirty old rooms.

The HOJO, if you invest in an entertainment card, and have the right dates, you can stay for under $100. This hotel also has the nicest non-Disney pool IMO.

Other hotels that I've stayed at and can recommend (all are pretty basic rooms, but clean and all within comfortable walking distance)
Camelot
Carousel
Desert Inn & Suites
Tropicana
Candy Cane Inn
Portofino

I've stayed at Pop Century in WDW and I stay at the Ramada iNN Maingate when at Disney I'd say they are very similar in quality.
