Dis Mom's Club?

Just found this and I'm so excited!!

My name is Angela and I live in Slidell, LA. I too am a Disney addict!!! Luckily I am married to one too. We have 2 pirates- Landon and Zachary and a princess- Isabella. Our last trip to Disney was in 2008 and I just booked May '11. :woohoo: We were going to go sooner, but since they closed Star Tours to refurbish it, we had to wait. (Proudly my husband and son are Star Wars geeks!) :rotfl2:

~Excited to meet you all~

Welcome to the new Moms and good morning to ALL!

Well, we did finally decide to go to Disney last weekend... It was actually a tough decision as neither DH or I wanted to make the trip home! :rotfl: We had a great time and it was well worth the trip! The only time I got upset was during the MSEP as there were more rude people then I've EVER encountered! But I just put a smile on my face and tried to hold my DS up a little higher so he could see over then. ;) We ended up staying at Pop Century, since I really really wanted to stay there... but after 1 night I realized that I have become a Disney resort snob! :lmao: DH and I decided we'd pay the extra to stay in a mod. or deluxe if DVC wasn't available. I'm getting more and more excited for our next trip down for Thanksgiving with DH's family in Cocoa Beach and then a week at Disney with my parents, who have NEVER been! :scared1:

I hope you ladies all have a wonderful day!

Glad to hear that you ended up coming down. We had a great time too. I was surprised with how great the line waits were on Labor Day. 10 minutes...that' awesome! Unfortunately, I did come home wtih 2 sick kids. :sad2:

I know the wait times were great! That was one of the reasons I wanted to go so bad, that and that DH had never seen the Halloween decorations!

I hope your kiddos feel better soon! I think I caught a cold bug while we were there... Some adult was coughing on my neck on Pirates of the Caribbean.

Hi Angela! I went to high school in Slidell! I live in Michigan now, but will always call New Orleans home! I was born and raised there! We leave for Disney in 3 weeks and 6 days (I should probably count the minutes and seconds!)

We just got back from OKW from Sept 2nd to Sept 6th and the lines said 5-10 minutes when we got there about 10am then they shot up to 20-30 but stayed about that all day besides Peter pan which had a 50 minute wait and of course TSMM which had a 130 minute wait about 12:10pm. Other than that we loved our stay. Me and hubby are staying at POP at the end of May!!:cool1:

Hey Liz! I'm not originally from here, but it's a great place to raise a family. Small town atmosphere right outside the big city. Like alot of people Katrina blew me here! haha Nice to meet you!!

Gross. I think I would have reminded the adult what most preschoolers know "cough and sneeze into your elbow" not on other people. Some people can be so inconsiderate.

Hope everyone feels better...that and the cold bug is out of Disney by December. :lmao:

I really love summer. Wisconsin is finally warm and I can spend time outside. I can tolerate fall, all least it is not to cold and we can still spend some time outside. It helps that the kids have their birthdays in October. But...I really don't like football. I don't mind football when the game has meaning to my DH - he is a Packer fan and while that makes me sad I have learned to live with it:rotfl2:-but to watch a game just because drives me crazy. It is the only time of the year I think a second TV would be a good idea.

Thanks for "listening." Go back to the wonderful Disney talk.

So my DD is getting married. They have been together for 3 years. They told us a few days ago they decided Sept was a time. Um ya we leave for our family cruise 9/11/11. I said well you have like two options, one do it on the cruise maybe at cast away cay? Or the week prior and then have one night at a hotel in town knowing our trip is the following weekend. They seemed to like the island idea but knowing the rest of the family and his would miss it didn't think it was best. Ok I understand this. So I thought that meant the weekend before. Um that may not be it either as because I am the one who said it and not them. What? They want to plan it not have me do it. Ya, I only made a date suggestion, so i can see how this is going to go. I will now not say anything but hopefully give helpful hits. :thumbsup2 She then says he is thinking April. What? That leave little time for planning, and paying for things. I have a trip to pay off too.
So this is going to be a fun time figuring out what "they choose".:cool2:

I so hear ya!
DH is a huge football fan. Vikings, actually. ( I know, I know...we have a bit of a rivalry) And I try to support him when it's a big game, like last night they played the Saints. But, when it's 2 other teams, or he's watching just to watch, then I get a bit annoyed. He wants the kids " away from the TV " because they keep talking. :confused3 Give me a break!

So yeah, I love that Football season starts in August :happytv: and goes on forever! :happytv::happytv::happytv::happytv::happytv:

OK, I haven't been to a real-live music concert in ages. (yes, I am old) But, there is one I really want to go to and tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10:am. I have never ordered online or through Ticketmaster before, and the ticket office is over an hour away so I'd prefer not driving up just to buy tickets.

What is the best way to get the best seats??? is it easy? Will I know my seats before I actually buy them? Any tips???

It's amazing how adults can sneeze and cough all over other people. The kids definitely look like they picked up this cold while there. My son is so sick that we're having to use a nebulizer for him. :sad1:

I, too, hope it's gone in December...

You should be able to get on to ticketmaster now and see a view of the arena and section locations. If you know the section you want, you should be able to choose that price location and get fairly close or you can choose "best available" and get the best seats that are left. Just know that "best available" are usually going to be the most expensive! Good luck and have fun!
