Dis Mom's Club?

LOL, and by the way, our 10th anniversary is in October (note screen name) :lmao:

Our 10th anniversary if 10/14. We're actually renewing our vows on the Disney Wonder 10/28/10. :lovestruc

Funny!!
Our anniversary is October 12th. A popular month to get married.
Next year we'll be celebrating our 20th and have been talking about actually doing something without the kids. I am not sure if I can do it... they've never been with anyone other than us. We keep toying with the idea of the Food & Wine Festival. That would be fun!

Mine's October 1st (2005)! I remember thinking back then... "Let's get married in October- nobody does it then." :rotfl2:

Trust me, once you take a vaca without the kids, you'll want to do it more often...you just have to make sure they stay with someone you really trust...for us it has always been my Mom...that way, you can truly enjoy your time away, know the kids are taken care of, live in the moment and leave the phone alone...The first time DH and I did, we came back with a "surprise" souvenier in my tummy...we named her Kelden...LOL!!

By the way...October is Birthday month in our house, as opposed to Anniversary month...LOL!!!

HI Too late to join? lol

Well, I'm Diana 39 married to Charlie and we have 3 DD's and 1 DS. I am a SAHM but in the past year have started filling in when needed at my daughter's work. DH is a big rig truck driver so that makes me a semi-single mom lol. Dh and I are very much WDW fanatics. No annual passes no DVC. Married 20 years :-)

On to the kids:

BB is 19 yrs old. Very much a disney addict. We tear up just watching other ppl Disney Cruise videos. Our dream is to go on a Disney Cruise someday.

DJ is 17 yrs old. She is my twin ppl say. She just graduated high school in June so our next trip in Oct. for the F&WF is her graduation gift.

Carrie is 16 yrs old and i don't know who's child she is.... she dislikes WDW to the extreme. sigh but we love the dickens out of her and her wry sense of humor.

Then there is our boy Stephen 14yrs old. He is just coming into his own and pretty much likes Disney ALOT! Enjoys creating things with Legos as well as drawing up some pretty amazing vehicles.

Welcome Cookies!
I noticed in your siggy that you played VMK. My DS10 is so disapointed that it isn't available to play. He loves the Kingdom Keepers books and wished he could play VMK online.:sad2:

LOL - so not true. Years ago I was a professional flutist and played weddings on weekends. Oct was so busy for me I would sometimes just stay at the church and play 2 or more weddings back to back! LOL

I haven't gotten used to vacationing without the kids yet. We've only done once, and just last week, my inlaws took the older two the the beach for the week. I can't shake that "something's not right" feeling if that makes any sense?

Too funny, we also hve an October anniversary! Oct. 8, 1988. I picked the dat because of the good karma of the number 8 (you know, the infinity symbol rolled on it's side & all the 8's in that date). But then I had the hardest time getting a church & reception facilities.:scared1: People told me it was a popular time to get married because relatives up north were out for Columbus Day break & could come. Who knew?:confused3 We actually were the last wedding of the day at 7pm at our church! It was kinda cool, though, cuz all the flowers, ribbons, candles (which I didn't spring for) from the previous ceremonies were still there so it was really pretty!

My DH is a member of the DisDad's Club so I thought I would see if the DisMom's would welcome me.

My DH & I have been married for almost 10 years. We have two DD (8 yr and 6 yr). My first Disney visit was in 00 for our honeymoon. We did not return to Disney again until 05 but have been once or twice a year since then. We have been DVC member since 08. We were at AKV in June and plan to got to VWL in October. I can't think of much else to add.

Hi Moms! I am mommy to two young children. Morgan who is six and Ethan who will be three in October :) We are a family of four who LOVES Disney! My son has been obsessed with It's a Small World (the ride and the song) since he turned two. I cant wait to take him on it this December. We will be in Disney again December 12-18th!!!! We are lucky enough to stil have a Disney Store in our area near Philly at the King of Prussia Mall and love to visit to get our Disney fix when we are not at the parks. My kids favorite Disney movies include Finding Nemo, Lilo and Stitch, and Nightmare Before Christmas:goodvibes

Welcome KYFigment & DisneyNV - glad to have you aboard:thumbsup2

I am just taking a quick break from packing. Oh, you say, Tinkermom is packing to go to Disney?
In my mind I am!!

It all started with a couple rain ponchos... which were in our Disney Box.
I am packing to go for 4 days with 75 sweaty, excited, energetic 10-11 yo boys and 25 hot & tired parents. Doing a ton of walking and fun activities.

OK, so it sounds a little bit like Disney but it's Cub Scout camp. But I can pretend it's Disney when I'm hiking to the waterfront! Blizzard Beach, here I come!
I actually love taking DS10 to Scout camp. This will be our 5th summer! Problem is it's raining. Thunderstorm-pouring-down-rain and we will have to hike. Here is where the ponchos come in. I had to find them and they were in the Disney Box. Now, all I can think about is comparing Camp Wilderness to Walt Disney World! One big difference is lots more tress and the food is terrible. Although the boys can be quite the characters, I won't be packing the autograph books.

So, DisMoms, have fun this week while I am off to Disn... oops, Camp!

OK... we're back! And no, Cub Scout camp is nothing like Disney World, no matter how much I think about it! Except the walking. DS10 kept saying, "I think my feet are more tired than they were at Disney!"

It was fun, we learned a lot, and did a lot of new things. DS10 even jumped in the lake without any bribery! (he hates swimming in lakes if he can't see clearly to the bottom. His imagination is too great!) But he did it and asked to swim again during free time! His favorite is still the shooting range but this time he added the climbing wall to the short list of "Most Awesome Things to do!"
This was our 4th and last time at Cub Scout camp since next year he'll be a Boy Scout and go to a different camp. I was told that Mom's don't do Boy Scouts, they want Dads or another male to go with. I don't know how I feel about that. hmmmm.....

Anyway, we survived at camp and Dad survived at home with the twins. Today I get a lazy day with the kids. We made cookies and read books. Then we went swimming and had sno-cones. Now time for supper.

What are all you other DISmom's up to??????

Just a little disney-dreamin'

Sounds like you enjoyed your last Scout Camp, TinkMom...It's a sure sign that they are growing up when they face their fears (like swimming in the lake), must feel good to know you are doing your job so well...and raising a well rounded scout!

You should let me know when you head into town and we can meet up and talk all things Disney!

I want to join! Can I, can I!!
I'm Liz. And I'm addicted to Disney! DH doesn't necessarily get the Disney addiction either, but we had such a blast last year (he came kicking and screaming), and this year, he won an award at work: a trip to Disney! So we're taking our 2 sons, Jack, 9, and Jay, 11 - both have down syndrome! I can't get enough of these boards! So, hi everyone!

OK, this may be a really stupid question, but I'm still learning my way around the boards...is there an easy way to find this mom's board? in other words, do I have to always click on forums, then trip planning forums, then disney for families, then DIS mom's club? There must be a quicker way, yes??

hey, we're October also! October 9, 1999! I picked that because I didn't want to get married in the dead of summer or winter because of the heat or possible snow. (we live in NY) So we thought October was pretty good, not too hot or cold and the worst we'd have to deal with would be rain.

The 9th turned out to be karma for us -both of our daughters were born on the 9th of a month:goodvibes

We did Disney for our honeymoon as well and the parks were not crowded at all and Sept/Oct has become our favorite time to visit Disney. Hoping to go back there next year for the F&WF.

We love visiting in September and October too. The weather is cooler and it doesn't seem as crowded.

So, my DD (age 5) wants to join the girl scouts. So, I have been looking into to that lately. Thankfully, I have a friend who works for them so she has been able to give me some info. Does anyone have girls in girl scouts? Any advice or info to share?

OK, I am certainly not an expert and there may be a much better way, but when I have a thread I like, I go to the top of the thread page (not the top of the Dis page) and click on THREAD TOOLS- and a drop down box will have SUBSCRIBE - Then another pop-up will ask you to confirm it.

There are other ways, that's just what I do. HTH:thumbsup2

And oh, I almost forgot.......

WELCOME!!!
