DIS Mets Fans Thread

I decided to make a thread for all of us Mets fans here on the DIS

I personally have never been so excited about my team, for 2 players, David Wright and Mike Pelfrey.

I am definently glad we have 6 All Stars in Pittsburgh.

Here it is, lets talk Mets baseball!

Also, I personally feel we should trade Milledge for Barry Zito

I will join the Mets bandwagon. I have been a fan since 1968 when my Dad took me to my first game. I have remained a true fan ever since and now my 7 year old son is following in my footsteps (Mets Kids Club member). My husband could care less but goes along for the ride (prefers hockey). I haven't been this excited for our team in a long time. LET's GO METS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I admit it - I was gloating, got a bit of a chill, and wished it were October this morning when I heard "12 games...." on the radio.

I grew up the only Met fan in a house of Yankee fans (sans Dad who still held on to his beloved Dodgers) and gosh they could get ruthless....I called my brother this shortly and left him a big ole Bronx cheer on his voice mail. Seemed appropriate LOL

I used to be a Mets fan back in 85-87. Once Gary Carter and Keith Hernandez left, I kind of lost interest (and got tired of the teasing). Maybe I'll have to check them out again and see how they're doing this year.

I am soooo impressed with David Wright. Amazingly poised and articulate for a 23-year-old. He does a ton of stuff for charity, too.

Dad took me to my first game in 1963 ( I was a toddler). While sitting on my Dad's lap, a foul ball nearly took my head off! Only the fact that my Dad moved me from one knee to the other saved what could have been a terrible tragedy!! My Dad got a sore shoulder, and I still have the foul ball!!

I think Wright is the best all around player in baseball, by far, at the moment. Think of a Jeter with even more class and charity plus even better on the field

I am really hoping they deal Milledge though, he is clubhouse poison, lets get Barry Zito!

By the way, I hate the Yankees almost more then anything in this world

I think we should trade Lastings Milledge for Yankees prospect Philip Hughes, Oakland Athletics pitcher Barry Zito, or Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Roy Halladay, if we can.

I am not someone who thinks Mike Pelfrey should be dealt.

I think Zito is the most duable - the Jays will not move Holliday when they have a shot to win the East - and with Burnett coming back - their staff should not be touched. I would not move a hot prospect for another right now. If the Mets move Milledge then they should get a starter that is going to thelp them win NOW - they are right there - they need one more good starter to be a Favorite I think. I think Zito or Willis

You never know what J.P. Ricciardi will do next.

They better move Milledge, he is the next major bust, and we can get Barry Zito for this kid.

Willis cannot handle New York, in my opinion, Zito can.

Hughes is not going anywhere!!! He will be the ace of the Yankees' pitching staff in just a few years.

I like David Wright. He's been great for my fantasy team!
