I'm in dire need of a Disney hit, and the only way I can think of getting it is a DIS meet. Anybody interested in one? Julie just got back from her trip and should have lots to share with us. I'd love to hear from Kim and Taryn about DISCON. Anybody?

I'm in ~ 103 more days and we'll be in WDW! Last year we had a DIS meet at Yorkdale RFC in April ~ remember. It was great! Our first DISmeet. We are game just able anytime.

Sundays are best for us. Where are you thinking about going? RFC? That was nice! Is there anywhere else? S

We are pretty much only available on Sundays after the 26th of this month as I am taking a course at Fanshawe on Saturdays so let us know and we should be good to go

Ps. we can bring our pics from our Dec trip

Oh Good! I'm glad I'm not the only one needing a meet! Anybody else?

Sundays work for me also. Set it up and I will be there.

Should we consider the weather? We've been pretty lucky without too much snow, but what if......? March Break isn't good for us, but just about most Sunday's are good for us. Baboo, are you coordinating this one? Where are you thinking about meeting? This sounds fun! S

A Dis meet sounds great Kathy! :)

Let me know what dates you have in mind, and where, and I'll see if we can make it!!

Kim :)

We would be interested, but our availability depends on the kids' hockey schedules, as always.

Sunday is probably a good day for most of us. I'm not sure about when or where. I was wondering about having it at that gas station on the eastbound 401 just west of Mississauga? I seem to remember someone suggesting it before because it has a second floor where we might be able to meet. Does anyone know anything about it? Maybe some weekend in February would be good. That month usually needs something to cheer it up.

MikeJ: do you live at the arena also. That's why my kids probably will not be joining me, we always play every weekend, 3 times a day between 3 kids.

Baboo; the only weekend in Feb. that I am tied up is 15-16th, we are in Sarnia for a tournament.

Hi Kathy, I know lots about it! I live about 10 minutes away and we go for coffee there all the time.

It's a Shell Info Centre. It has a Tim Hortons and Wendy's, a small arcade and a Nicholby's store (lots of free Ontario Travel brouchures)on the first floor. The second floor is basically a large sitting area. There is an office upstairs, but no one uses it on weekends. There are washrooms too. The tables/chairs are those standard four chairs attached to the tables. They are fairly close together but they are permenantly attached to the floor and can't be pushed together. There are two sections with bench seating, they aren't near each other. One bench seating area holds about 12 to 16 people. The place is showing it's age, no frills type of room, and it's definately not the Rain Forest Cafe. But it is inexpensive and holds lots of people. Very easy to access from eastbound 401, it's just metres past the Winston Churchill exit. West bound 401 (Toronto) folks will have to exit Winston Churchill (exit 333 westbound 401) drive on the overpass and back onto the 401 eastbound.

Hope this info helps. My family likes having Timmy's for lunch there because it's usually dead and my kids can run around while I enjoy a coffee. S

I have a slim chance of an option (slim because even I'm not sold on the idea). Square One Shopping Centres food court is right across from the Disney Store. They have a tons of fast food chains. I think the Tim Horton's opens about 11:30 am and the rest open about noon. We have often gone at 11:30 am for coffee and waited for the Disney Store to open. Usually fairly dead first thing at opening. Feb is a good time, because Square One shouldn't be too busy.

Ideas at the top of my head.

*Chuck E. Cheese for the ones with little kids

*Fantasy Fair

*Zoo

*RFC

*Also, we can start thinking about a Paramount Canada's Wonderland picnic for the summer!

Thanks for all the input Sandra! I'd thought about Square One Food Court too, but every time I've been there the place is absolutely packed. However, I've never been ther on a Sunday in Feb. so they might be very quiet then. I was hoping to keep it low priced this time. This time of year, cash can be in short supply after Christmas. RFC is beautiful, but is quite pricey. The zoo also costs quite a bit to get into and would be very cold this time of year, and I don't think that there is any place inside where we could really get together and talk. Chuck E. Cheeses was also quite expensive the time I tried it. I'm not familiar with Fantasy Fair. Where is it? What does everyone else think about a place? Any other suggestions?

I was thinking about keeping the price low too this time. The Shell Info Centre is definately that ~ Tim Hortons and Wendy's. I find Wendy's can be expensivr sometimes. DH and DD will have lunch and it's over $11.00. At Tim Horton's we all eat for about $7.00. It's a real no frills place, but it's big and inexpensive. So is it Feb 2002 on a Sunday for sure? I think that works for us.

I'm game for a DIS meet also. Anywhere on the west side of Toronto is good for me since I come in from Woodstock, so that Tim's sounds convenient. Sundays are good because the traffic isn't as bad, either. It's just the weather I'll have to contend with, unless I can get DH to drive me in. Cheap is good too as I "know" we spent too much money over the holidays! :D

Julie, I thought about you when we are talking about the Shell Info centre. It's at exit 333. About 30 minutes less drive than the RFC at Yorkdale for you and right on the highway too! Like I said, it's really nothing special, but it can accommodate us. S

Thanks Sandra! I really hate driving right into Toronto, if at all possible, the traffic is so fast. Darren and Lisa would be coming in from London, too. I'm not sure how far that is for you, Kathy?

Depending on the weather I might be able to make this one! It would be nice to meet everyone since I unfortunatly missed the one in the summer. I'll keep an one on the details and weather!

We will be happy to attend anyplace you decide providing it is on a Sunday as I had mentioned before as I will be attending classes on Saturdays starting the 26th of Jan. We will be travelling from London not sure if the kids will be with us if not and someone needs a ride we can accomodate actaully even if we have them I can just grab my moms van so we can take up to 3 extra either way.
Darren & Lisa

Please wait until at least Feb 24. We missed the last two meets because we worked Sundays in the summer.:( We get back from WDW Feb 10 and it will take a week or so to get settled back in. We would love to meet everyone. The whole family had a great time at our meet in Peterborough in 2000. Sundays are best for us.
