I've actually heard that Christmas Day and the day after are next to empty at DL??? Is that really true? I know it's the complete opposite at DWorld! It really shocks me that it would be good days to visit...what are your opinions???

No. They are packed. The one time we went Christmas day, Disneyland hit capacity by 11 am. The week between Christmas and NY is the most packed.

Three Christmases ago my neighbor went the week between Christmas and New Year and they said DLR was at capacity every day.

Haha, no clue where you heard that but the buzz around here is they are packed. I know we are planning on major crowds when we go the 1-3rd of Jan. :)

You weren't told that on April 1st by any chance, were you? :rotfl:

All kidding aside: I went to the Park on Christmas Day several years ago. It reached capacity around 1:30 in the afternoon.

The 26th is traditionally the day that both Rose Bowl teams and their entourage, fans, etc go to DLR.

I was there last year on Christmas day and it was low crowds but then again it was 8:30 pm when I got there so maybe it dies down, not sure.

We were there for Christmas last year and Christmas day was empty but only because it rained. We loved it and walked onto almost everything. The 26th was beyond packed. I had never seen anything like it to be honest (and we were there on the 4th of July).

We did get to watch the press conference for the Rose Bowl on the 26th and that was really neat and the players and all their fans were in the park as well.

The information may have come from people who think that the AP blockout dates will affect crowds this year. Since Christmas and the day after are blocked out, crowds may be somewhat smaller than last year. I wouldn't count on anything, but I wouldn't be shocked if the parks didn't hit capacity, either, personally. (Even if it doesn't rain. :) )

With the Rosebowl having one of the 2 Oregon teams playing I would imagine a few Oregonians will be headed there on the 26th. Neither team has gone to the Rosebowl in years.

Stay tuned tomorrow for results of the big game.

APs are always blocked that week. I think it will be crazy like always.

Your guess is probably right. I know some other holidays like Easter, 4th of July, and Thanksgiving have gone differently than expected this year, but Christmas break is such a long holiday (sometimes for adults too!) that it will probably play out more typically.

APs are blocked from the weekend before Christmas until Jan 3rd at the earliest. The only APs that can get in then are those of us with Premiums or those who pay the black out fee to get in. I still think it will be busy, it's a big holiday and a lot of people like to go to DL this time of year.

I was there too! And you're right it did rain. :) I forgot about that. Well, no wonder it was empty. haha
